The original Town Hall was constructed by the British in 1908. It underwent a renovation and development along with the Mall Road project. Now it is a beautifully constructed building, in which the Municipal Committee meets under the leadership of the Mayor & Deputy Mayor. 50% of the seats are reserved for women.

The Town Hall in Shimla is a historic building located in the heart of the city. It was built in the 19th century during the British colonial period and served as the administrative center for the region. The architecture of the building is a mix of Victorian and neo-Gothic styles, and it is a popular tourist attraction. The Town Hall is now home to the Municipal Corporation of Shimla and is open to the public. Visitors can take a tour of the building and learn about its history and significance. The interior of the building is well-preserved and features intricate woodwork, stained glass windows, and a grand central staircase. One of the highlights of the Town Hall is the Shimla Heritage Museum, which is located on the ground floor. The museum displays a collection of artifacts and photographs that tell the story of Shimla's history and development. Visitors can also see a replica of the famous Shimla toy train, which used to run through the city in the early 20th century. The Town Hall is surrounded by a large garden and is a great place to relax and take in the sights and sounds of Shimla. The garden is well-maintained and features a variety of flowers and plants. There is also a small playground for children. Overall, the Town Hall in Shimla is a must-see attraction for anyone visiting the city. It's an excellent example of colonial architecture and offers a glimpse into the city's rich history. The Shimla Heritage Museum is particularly interesting, and the garden is a great place to relax and unwind.

Town Hall - The Gorgeous Gem of Shimla! 👇 Soak yourself in the sun early morning, right on the stairs facing the Mall Road. 👇 Capture the clear night sky with a front view of the MC Building, lighted in shades of green, magenta and orange.

The town hall is located right in the middle of the Shimla Mall Road and in it is the food street of Shimla. Yeh food street is basically a collective place where a food court is present of different fast food chains. Some of the fast food chains included inside the food street at the Town Hall are KFC, Vaango, COSTA coffee and other similar ones. The place is beautifully decorated with lights and is an aesthetic spot for clicking pictures. It a signature location of the Shimla Mall Road and everyone coming to Shimla has a picture here. The street in front is buzzing with tourists and locals alike, and the atmosphere of the place lights up with energy. We visited here really late in the night, around 8:30 pm so most hops had closed by then. However, this place still looked very vibrant and beautifully adorned that captures the soul of the Queen of Hills- Shimla!

Shimla Town Hall is an ancient heritage structure built in such a way that it can be accessed from the Mall as well as the Ridge. This neo-Gothic structure is located right next to the Gaiety Complex. The once Upper Bazaar area was cleared to build a Municipal and administrative quarters which was officially referred to as the Town Hall. Since then it has been serving as the administrative office of the Municipal Corporation. Local events and social activities are also held in the premises of this city landmark. It looks beautiful at night since it's well lit. A must visit if you like to see Neo Gothic architecture.

he recently renovated Municipal Corporation building of Shimla adds to the surrounding architecture, reminiscent of the pre-independence era. The building is preserved in its original form. The large steps and the entrance to this building are a common site for pictures depicting the Mall at Shimla. More than 5 crore rupees were spent in renovating this colonial architectural marvel.

The Town Hall Shimla was constructed in 1910 during the British Rule in India. The British had made Shimla, the summer capital of the nation. During summers, government officials used to come and stay in Shimla and lots of administrative jobs used to be done here at Shimla. To accomplish those jobs and to provide residences to the government officials, several constructions were made. Shimla Municipal Board was formed in 1851 and during the summer months (when Shimla used to be the summer capital of British-Ruled India), different functions of the municipality i.e. roads, sanitation, water supply, drainage, tax collection were handled by Shimla Municipal Board. The foundation stone of the Town Hall was laid by the Shimla Municipal Board.

Shimla Municipal Corporation is one of the oldest municipalities of India and dates back to 1851. This was the first municipality in pre-Independence Punjab. In this, a wall is prepared with old pictures. This building is gives awesome look at night.

The Tourism Department of Himachal Pradesh and the Shimla Municipal Corporation are up in arms to claim the possession of the precious piece of heritage property – the historic Town Hall of Shimla, built in 1908 by Scottish Architect James Ransone. Built in the Gothic style, the Town Hall of Shimla featured the half-timbered Tudor style, all wooden frames and shingles eaves. It originally housed a Library alongwith a few public utility offices in British-era. However, later it ended up in the hands of Shimla MC. The building is undergoing a complete renovation since 2014, and Rs. 8 crores has been spent on it so far. The government failed to meet the deadline of 18 months and hope to complete it in 2018. About 70 percent of this cost was provided by the Asian Development Bank as a loan for the purpose of the beautification of the Shimla Mall.
