The surrounding are fabulous. It's very calm and quiet. Visibility is good over this area. In terms of connectivity it is the right place for Jeypore and Koraput as well. Though the trains are not that frequent yet one can get easy access to the beauty of western Odisha from here. Share auto is available outside of the railway station. Duduma waterfall, Gupteswar Temple, Machhakunda Dam and the other places. The station is very clean and there is facilities for travellers or and passengers.

Worst Railway station I have ever visited, my train arrived at 8:20 PM and there was no means of transportation outside the station, no waiting room for AC and Sleeper class, there is no Hotel, Lodge or any place to stay.
