Really terrible place. Very rude employee who actually charged me for taking a bite of my partners bread when he asked me to try it. She approached our table and made a public accusation. Very unpleasant and unnecessary behaviour. We paid for a slice of bread and won't be returning. I had to give one star but it is not deserved.

Ordered burger with onion rings and salat as starter. Burger was simple, average taste, onion ringhs of average taste as well. Toilets clean, plenty of space for parking, behind the restaurant very nice place near water for relaxing.

I only stoped here for coffee and food, so I don't have an oppinion about the rooms. The location is nice, with view over the river. Food is OK, I will clasify it as common local Norwegian cafe-menu. It's nice atmosphere, with many customers, both locals who have their sunday diner there and car-tourists.

I've been past this place a number of times when I've been to Sweden for a spot of shopping. Going past it I'd always assumed it was a fancy restaurant. We made an impromptu decision to go here for Father's Day. It was very busy however we got a table very quickly. The food was awesome, albeit it was a strange set up. No servers coming to the table to take your order, you had to order directly at the cashdesk. They give you a device that tells you when your food is ready and you have to get it yourself, along with cutlery and condiments. Again I can't fault the food, I had the Sanngrund Burger and I'd come back just to have it. Yes it was that good. The set up at the Sanngrund wouldn't be what I would expect or put in place, but it works. Diners are happy to do it this way. It has an upmarket feel to it and is well positioned. The owners could very well make a few changes to capitalise on its full potential to be a 5⭐ dining experience.

Recomended place to visit, eat and stay, spesially if you ride motorcycle and like nature :)

The meat was delicious and the potato excellent. There is a salad bar to choose from.

We dropped by just to have cofee.. i had double latte.. sorry to say but their coffe has less aroma and coffee taste .... but its nice place, enough choices of food and they even hve clothes

Always a pleasure to eat at Sanndgrund Cafè. They offer a small number of dishes for an ok price. However the amount of food you get including salad buffet is well worth it. I came in on a wednesday evening. The place was almost full! Even tho they had plenty of steats. The interior is nice and you feel welcome. I ordered a steak with pepper sauce. The steak could have been cooked less. The sauce was perfect. Vegetables was boring. Only oversized peppers. Food came very quick and service is good.

It was a beautyfull location, loved the lakeside view. The buffet is very good and tasty food. Check in was easy and staff was friendly. Good place for vacation and escape to peace.

Excellent food. Always great to have a stop here.

I don't usually write reviews but after visiting Sanngrund I decided to write a review... I stayed in one of the cabins in September 2014. The cabin was lovely, large and a good price. The view from the porch of the water reflecting the landscape was beautiful. The room was very clean. I was worried it would be difficult to find traveling from Oslo but the location is easy to find. I ate at the restaurant multiple times during my stay. I was very impressed with the food. I think it was some of the best food I've ever had. I loved the meatballs and potatoes but they also had many other foods to choose from. They also had some delicious deserts that went nicely with a coffee. I will come back in the future, thank you!
