If you like industrial history you will definitely like this place. The staff was very kind, interesting excursion. Special thanks for old bricks exhibition. There's an authentic kids playground outside. One thing I didn't like: you have to pay extra 50 koruns for making photos.

We have nothing but positive things to say about our visit to the Mayrau Mining Museum! Despite the fact we showed up on a Sunday when most things seemed to be closed, Dominic and his father - who used to work in the mines - took the time to give us an amazing and in-depth tour of the museum and its surroundings. Not only was it educational, but we actually had a lot of fun! We highly enjoyed this sort of impromptu stop while visiting Kladno for a hockey game and trying to find something to do. If you are ever in the area, I absolutely recommend taking a tour!

Really a great tour. We went here because a Dutch television show was filmed here. If you like desolate buildings and are the urban exploring type this is the place. What pictures can't grasp is the smell. You smell the oil, the machines. Everything is in original condition. Only drawback: tour is purely in Czech. Zo w Google translate we made the best of our conversation with the (nice) ex miner that gave the tour.

I think it is a very amazing place with an astonishing history behind it because the guide told all the history of this place.

Awesome spot if you like post industrial places, the guides are guys who did work as miners so you get a lot of insider info. Also we did our wedding pictures there and there awesome...

Great museum! We have visited mines in Germany, England, Poland and Belgium and this one has some unique features: the shaft houses and engine houses date back to the 19th century and are in their original state. There are some beautiful steam engines inside. The atmosphere is very nice, a bit urbex style. We got a private guide because there were no other visitors. Unfortunately the guides are not able to speak German or English, but this was Ok for us.

Wir, zwei deutsche Touristen waren heute hier. Wir sprechen leider kein Tschechisch und unserer Tour Guide leider kein Deutsch oder Englisch. Trotzdem hat es uns hier sehr gefallen und es war sehr informativ. Absolut empfehlenswert.
