In the heart of Meir Park, this pub is amazing. The food comes to you very quickly, and you have an amazing choice of seating. The portions are big, ans they are big on flavour.

Dec 22 5 stars Potters did a Wake for me and the staff and food was excellent. Dan, Chris and Natalie worked hard to do the hot and cold buffet for me . Plenty of food . Arranging the flowers,I also requested special puddings which I bought in. Everything went really well and my Mum would have been so proud for what they did for us . Staff were pleasant. 7 months ago reviewI 3 stars I’m a regular here . Doesn’t make sense that 30% offer on food is being promoted and only 1 staff running around like a headless chicken trying to serve drinks and food orders . We saw people leave as waiting to long to be served. Surely more staff should be on when they are promoting offers . This happened on 2 consecutive days from what others locals were saying. The thing is the pub wasn’t that busy either but locals queuing for drinks for approximately 15 minutes. Poor staff you can only do your best .

The Potters Bar over the years has gone from strength to strength and is the heart of the community hosting events that we have in the past attended as well as regular entertainment for not only the locals but anyone that wants a good night out. We had to pop in to try the new menu and without a doubt is hasn't disappointed yet again. The food is amazing, tasty and most importantly the quality has definitely been enhanced. We would definitely recommend the brie dippers and chicken goujons for a quick starter and the nachos are definitely on the list for not only a starter but as a snack when we are next in for a drink or two. Having looked at the new "grazers menu" too we can't wait to try out the vast array of snacks on offer. In the past we have always picked the jumbo prawns and are so happy they are still on the menu - highly recommended alongside the chicken wings. As for the main menu alongside the pizza menu it's is colourful and has such a variety I don't think anyone will be disappointed. We went for the new burgers and as you can see the portion of seasoned fries alongside them is huge. A certain chicken takeaway definitely will have a run for their money with the new Ultimate Chicken Burger on offer. It was so tasty I will certainly be ordering it again and again. Traditional menu options are still available and we also like how the lunch club will still be available for a lighter bite should we wish to pop in one day. It's safe to say we will definitely be eating more here if the food is as good as it was the other day. Compliments to the chef

Credit where its due. The place is a bit run down and badly in need of being done up. BUT the gaffer there puts his heart and soul into the place. Good food, good beer and good atmosphere. Dog friendly.

Worst Christmas meal I've ever had, starters came out late the staff dropped one almost spilling red hot soup over a baby in a stroller. After waiting an hour and a half for mains the vegetables came out so undercooked if you tried to put your fork through a sprout you'd be at risk of sending it across the room like a tennis ball... even the mash potato was lumpy, undercooked potato throughout and at that point we left. I won't recommend the Potters Bar to anyone now. Awful experience.

We like Marston pubs because the food is usually good at a reasonable price. We'd not been to Potters Bar before and were surprised to see it was located in a housing estate. The large car park was a good touch. We hadn't booked, but the restaurant was fairly quiet, so we had no issue being served. We accidentally sat in the designated dog section, but we like dogs so that wasn't an issue. In fact it was nice to see dogs welcomed as part of the family and the restaurant even had a dog menu! The waitress was young and friendly. The manager (?) spoke to us and was welcoming. We are vegetarian and the food was very nice. I had the vegetarian Carvery and my husband had a vegetarian burger. Both were nicely presented and good portion size. The decor let the place down as it could do with a revamp as it was dingy and dated. Overall, we enjoyed our visit.

Today I was one of a party of 30+ from our slimming world group. The group came here last year and it was so good the decision was made to return. Huge mistake. The meal selections were given at least 3 months ago. There were just two people bringing out food. Sides and gravy were served before the main dishes. Plates and food were not warm. . I like my veg crunchy but they were raw. My side dish started off warm and so I ate that. Pigs in blankets looked so pale I worried that they weren't cooked. I have never left so much food on my plate. If I had been in a small group I would have complained but, as a very kind and thoughtful lady in our group had arranged this I didn't want to upset anyone. Maybe bar meals are ok here but not for something as special as a Christmas party.

Booked to sit in the booth at 8pm for 4 people, when we got there other people in the booth and we were put on table 12. Didn’t know bingo was on so I asked if we could move into the other room so we could talk,the young man said he would find out and get back to us…he never did !!! Ordered a starter as a main but it was served as a starter and the other meals came later. Also there was a man vaping anll the time we were eating.. disgusting !!! All in all a great disappointment…won’t be coming again.

Food and atmosphere are top notch in the Potters and has been since Dan took charge. The service lets the pub down at times, as often you’ll find the younger staff playing hide and seek in the kitchen or office rather than manning the bar. Pub requires a refurb as it is getting a bit dated, and some of the paving outside along with the male toilets can be classed as health hazards. Considering the very high prices, the least the loyal customers deserve is a fresh interior and safety guaranteed outside.

So a huge group of 32 went for lunch on 7.12.23, food was absolutely dreadful, it was a Christmas lunch the turkey was like mush, the pigs in blankets were so pale didn’t dare eat them, all the veg may as well of been picked and put straight onto the plate uncooked is an understatement !!! It’s not just 1 person who left there food it was everyone, even people on a different table not in our group!!!! We complained to the manager but he didn’t seem to bothered nor did he dhow his face again, £20 give or take a head, plus drinks ontop, he earned a good wage out of that. They had three staff on but knew a big party was coming in, but no where near enough staff, 1 waiting on, needless to say I WONT BE GOING BACK ANYTIME SOON!!!! That was just my dinner that I left and pretty much every plate was like that!!!!

The Potter's Bar catered for my late wife's wake. I have to say the I could not fault the service Dan and his staff provided. Part of the bar was sectioned off for our convenience, the food provided was excellent and at a very competitive price. Highly recommended

First time going and used the kids booth for a meal with my family kids loved it and so did we excellent service and the burgers were lovely going again soon. Been a good couple of times since this review was placed burgers are amazing still they have been changed a bit now come with burger sauce and the jam sponge pudding is so good I always have it staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome would 100% come and give it a try if you want a nice place to relax and eat will put photos on when I next go.

Polite staff & quick to serve ,clean pub, food was good BUT ....while the pub was upto 1/2 empty and with 4 staff on, it seemed the staff were on a go slow to clearing plates & glasses ..i meen a good 1/2 hr to clear.plates and had 3 rounds of glasses on the table when we left .. so a training excersise in waiting on tables would be a good idea ...

Food was absolutely disgusting, something I wouldn’t even feed my dog. And I hate dogs. I also hate horses, that’s the only reason I finished my meal, because I’m pretty sure that’s what my burger was made of.

We stopped here for lunch and it was quiet and clean , the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We both had a veggie meal and salted caramel dessert. We will be going back again!

Great community pub with friendly, hard-working and welcoming staff. The food and drinks are great value for money. This pub hosts lots of family events which my 4 year old loves! The quiz night is fantastic and the bands on a Saturday make for a great night out with a fantastic atmosphere. Every meal I’ve had here has been delicious. Would highly recommend!

So refreshing to find a pub that welcomes dogs. We've not been into the Potters for a long time, but there has been a change in management and now its completely different...welcoming, friendly. The drinks were good, obviously the cellar is managed well, and priced amazingly. We'll be trying food next time we visit.

The landlord and his team are out of this world, they go above and beyond a community pub. They have worked hard to make this pub a warm and welcome place to bring anyone of any age. You get a real sense of community just talking to management, they love what they do and are always trying to raise themselves and their team up.

We decided to celebrate our sons 18th at our local and weren't disappointed. Nat, Dan and the team did a great job even though they had had a really busy day. The buffet was amazing value and went down really well. Thanks again!

I go to the Potters bar pub about once a week. Good range of lagers beers and real ales at reasonable prices. Food is very good and well presented at a good price and staff are always friendly. Like to watch live music and glad to see groups back playing.

We love the Potters as it’s our local pub and we always feel happy, comfortable and welcomed. Food has improved massively but some days are better than others which is understandable as there probably are different chefs on. The only negative feedback we can give is the times of waiting. This seems to be down to lack of floor staff and the woman who is always there seems rushed and over worked. We had 3 courses and waiting for a while between then, particularly the desserts and was in nearly 3 hours in total between foods. Also plates weren’t cleared between courses and there are no curtesy checks to check if all is ok. Again, this appears to be lack of floor staff in a very busy pub. Would normally put us off anywhere else but we know this differs depending on what day you go and are always happy and comfortable. Overall, pub is fab, great choice on menu, polite and friendly staff and manager Dan takes pride in his pub. Overall would recommend.

Fantastic and friendly place to go especially Thursday night for the quiz and I also enjoy a Saturday night as the venue has some great bands, the new menus is amazing and the staff are so efficient, especially Nat who is the head chef, she goes out of her way for everyone and makes a cracking Sunday dinner might I add. Well done to everyone there who have created a super community spirited pub.

We attend the potters bar after my children finish swimming. We've been 3 Fridays out of 4.... it is a busy pub and they do try their very best to serve you. I believe they are trying to hire to staff to cover at the busiest times. You can tell regulars attend and staff are friendly and helpful towards them. We attend for tea and always start with starters, the starters do arrive within a reasonable time and always arrive hot, the mains though take a little while longer and arrive not so hot, like it has been sat for a bit before coming out. Last night we did it a bit different, we ordered drinks and starters on arrival and it all arrived piping hot (yummy) and then once the starters had arrived we ordered the mains, the mains arrived hot and even my mum (who's a chef and a fussy eater herself) ate her tea, this meaning we were in... ate.... and left all within a hour and 15 minutes. To me this was amazing as with two children (5&7) who start to get bored when they have to wait, this did not happen last night. Staff were very kind and friendly and even though there was a large gathering in the conservatory area they still made sure they attended to everyone else as well as them. So far we've had nothing to complain about, yes food was not as hot as it could of been in the past but not inedible or worthy of a complaint.

Staff were really good happy and cheerful. Fast service with lovely hot food well presented. Good with family's as my youngest changed his mind after ordering doughnuts they brought him a scoop of ice cream and even a wafer so he wasn't upset .

Booked in for 4 of us. We had such a lovely experience. Food was excellent, wasn't a lot of variety but we preferred that, as we didn't have to sit wondering what we wanted and could choose; I'm glad not much variety, as the food was lush. My 2 friends had steak perfection for them. I had mac and cheese with pulled pork and bbq sauce... amazing! Complimented each other really well. My other friend had steak and ale pie and she said it was lovely too. The man, that waited on us, is such a lovely man; very polite and helpful. Bar staff, very approachable. The pub was busy but we didn't wait long to be served. Food took a while to come but it was okay as we were talking and drinking. The only thing I would have preferred is to have table service, but that is only something, if I had to mention something. Great night.

Dan the manager, is a star... food is amazing cooked with talent... staff, are polite and professional ... from me who dines out A LOT all around Stoke... this pub is now my favourite. Thee best pub in stoke-on-trent hands down.

Ordered food from their app just simply a desert and a drink, waited over 30 mins and the desert came but still no drink. To be told by the person they don't deal with that side but it would be coming, after finishing dessert, still no drink for a further 10 minutes. I had to go up to the bar and ask where it was to find out he was still trying to get around to it.

Boxing Day meal , what a shambles . Very disappointing, after having booked months before and pre ordered all our meals we get there to find 6 of them were not available. Some of the group ended up with nothing others ended up with just starters because of availability. E mailed the manager no response, absolutely shocking will not recommend and will not be returning .

Recently had a 30th party there and it was great. We had our own private area in the conservatory for about 50 people with the outside garden for a bouncy castle too. The staff were great and really accommodating. Great little venue & the bonus of the band that played there that night too. We didn't try the catering there but heard its great. Thanks guys

Visited this pub as a friend of mine is a regular visitor and has recommended it. First impressions were good, busy friendly atmosphere, service was prompt as was the food order. Food came out piping hot and was delicious. Was only planning on staying for a couple of hours but there was a quiz on and enjoyed it so much I decided to stay longer, I'll definetly be back and altho I live a little further away, I think this could perhaps be a reg place to meet with family and friends for meals etc.

Food was horrible. We ordered 2 steaks, both medium. One was well done cooked. But both steaks was horrible anyway. Chewy and no taste at all. Nachos horrible. Why prices is so high? Do not recommend!!!
