throughout
my
teens
I
have
had
some
form
of
what
I
thought
was
‘bad’
skin
and
I
was
constantly
wearing
makeup;
I
wouldn’t
leave
the
house
without
it.
Going
into
adulthood
nothing
had
ever
changed
until
in
October
2021
I
stopped
taking
my
contraceptive
pill
and
my
skin
got
worse
than
usual.
It
started
getting
worse
and
worse
until
it
got
so
bad,
I
couldn’t
stand
it
and
I
contacted
Muireann.
I
had
my
first
appointment
with
Muireann
in
December
2021,
and
I
could
not
have
met
a
more
friendly
welcoming
person.
My
skin
had
got
so
bad
at
this
stage
that
I
was
even
embarrassed
to
show
Muireann
my
face
without
makeup
(daft,
I
know!)
but
she
is
such
a
lovely
woman
who
makes
you
feel
safe
and
reassures
you
she
is
going
to
go
above
and
beyond
to
help
you
and
I
can
promise
now
that
she
did
that
and
more.
My
skin
was
incredibly
infected
and
painful
at
that
time
and
my
acne
had
gotten
out
of
control
it
was
really
affecting
my
self
confidence
and
as
silly
as
it
may
sound
to
some,
I
shed
a
lot
of
tears
over
the
way
my
skin
looked
thinking
that
it
was
going
to
be
like
that
forever
and
there
was
no
fix.
I
immediately
started
a
tailored
plan
with
Muireann
which
included
a
lot
of
in
salon
treatments
and
then
also
my
own
fully
personalised
skin
care
plan
which
I
done
in
the
morning
and
in
the
evening.
I
continued
these
in
salon
treatments
for
a
long
time
all
the
while
doing
my
own
skincare
plan
at
home,
and
because
my
skin
was
so
bad
at
the
time
I
began,
it
was
obviously
going
to
take
some
time
for
my
skin
to
clear
the
infection
to
begin
with
and
then
to
start
to
heal
(not
that
I
wanted
to
hear
that
at
the
time).
Just
to
note
–
needing
all
of
those
in
salon
treatments
isn’t
going
to
be
the
same
for
everyone
but
this
is
just
what
I
personally
needed
for
me
to
get
a
kick
start
on
clearing
my
skin
because
of
the
severity
of
my
acne.
Months
into
my
treatment
plan
and
I
wasn’t
getting
the
crystal-clear
skin
I
thought
I
would,
I
honestly
felt
like
it
was
never
going
to
change,
and
my
skin
was
going
to
be
like
this
forever.
To
my
surprise
though,
slowly
but
surely
after
all
of
those
months
that
included
a
lot
of
caring
for
my
diet,
my
skin,
my
habits
(all
which
Muireann
recommended
to
me
and
helped
me
to
understand
why
it
was
I
was
doing
these
things,
instead
of
just
telling
me
to
do
it
and
not
explaining
why)
my
skin
finally
started
to
change.
I
started
to
get
less
and
less
breakouts
and
my
existing
spots
were
not
as
inflamed
and
sore
as
they
used
to
be.
I
know
what
it
feels
like
wanting
that
quick
fix
and
feeling
like
your
skin
is
never
going
to
change
even
though
you’re
doing
all
the
right
things
and
trying
your
hardest
but
trust
me,
going
to
Muireann
changed
my
confidence
in
a
way
I
thought
I’d
never
feel.
A
year
and
a
bit
on,
my
skin
is
clearer
than
it
has
ever
been
in
my
whole
life,
and
you’d
nearly
have
to
pay
me
now
to
wear
makeup.
None
of
this
would
have
been
achieved
though
without
me
putting
in
the
work
at
home,
there
is
no
point
in
going
to
Muireann
for
a
treatment
in
the
salon
and
then
not
sticking
to
your
skincare
at
home
because
you
are
just
wasting
your
own
time
and
nothing
will
change.
I
can’t
thank
Muireann
enough
for
all
she’s
done
for
me.
She
was
constantly
on
the
other
side
of
the
phone
for
any
worries,
queries
I
had,
no
question
was
too
silly
to
ask
because
she
always
explained
it
thoroughly
and
patiently.
She
even
delivered
skincare
bits
to
my
house
when
I
had
covid
and
that
is
just
a
very
very
small
snippet
of
how
much
she
is
willing
to
do
to
help
you
get
your
skin
the
way
you
want
it
to
be.
She
is
more
than
just
a
skin
specialist;
she
is
a
lady
who
you
can
go
into
your
treatment
for
and
come
out
with
a
smile
on
your
face
because
she
just
loves
the
craic
and
she
is
such
an
easy
going
down
to
earth
person.
If

appointment,
do
it.

you
that
you
won’t
regret
