Great place to visit. Very kind staff and very good information tour. Maria is very good explaining what this great wooden path could be. Here you have a complete section of a wooden path from the iron age dating around 148 BC. It is made of wood because crosses fields of turf. No one knows exactly the reasons why it was built and there still another section buried on the turf. A place I recommend to visit

Great place. Beautiful. Not too much in way of scenery but has immense historical, mythological and cultural significance. Small exhibit talking all about the significance of the Corlea Trackway. Admission is free and tours take place about every hour, which start with a short screening and end with the tour guide explaining the trackway. Staff here are immensely helpful and very informative and will be happy to answer any questions you might have. There is no restaurant/cafe here but they will gladly let you fill your water here. You also get a chance to walk around the bog which is a good 3.5km stroll. Cycling on the path is allowed however be careful as the gravel can be slippery. There is car and bicycle parking on site. Picnic tables are scattered all around the bog so dont hesitate to bring lunch.

This place is amazing. The building is like the one in Jurassic park and the area is strange and alien. The guides are both excellent, passionate and very interesting. They know their stuff.

Fantastic free tour in a beautiful interpretive centre. Beautiful Bog walks. What a shame its under promoted locally and nationally. The Trackway is watching but looks like its not being adequately moisturised and is showing signs of drying out. Fabulous amenity which is underused. Potential for a great Coffee Shop already equipped but not opened.

A hidden gem and definitely worth the visit. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It was amazing hearing through their enthusiasm about the conservation project and the different theories on why the trackway was built 148 BC. Stunning to be witness of such amazing craftsmanship. And then a lovely walk in the wetlands and learning about the restoration of the bogs.

I visited on the 1st of November just before the centre closed for the Winter. A very knowledgeable staff member greeted me early morning just as they were opening. It is an interesting site that has been on my list to visit for a while and so finally I was able to stop by! The story of the discovery and preservation of the timber trackway is fascinating and most of this timeline is shown on a short film in a cinema room on site. Access to the trackway is via the main hall and I to another dedicated room. It was incredible to see. The guide who took me in was helpful, knowledgeable and through, 5* experience overall and very pleased to have been able to see this whilst in the area,!

A superb place to visit this truly ancient monument and a really knowledgeable and engaging guide who brought everything to life. Plus the opportunity to walk around the surrounding unique ecosystem of the bogs. We arrived at the end of the day so no tea for us, but there are very nice cafe facilities on site and lots of parking.

Visited Corlea with my three children, staff were excellent, very knowledgeable and adapted the presentation for the kids. Great place to visit if you are near Londesborough and have an interest in the history of Ireland!

Fantastic free exhibition, with great tour guide ( noel and mary). There is a lovely 5km walk.around the site as well. Highly recommend a visit or detour here. Its a pity that authorities are not doing more to ensure the displayed portion of road is kept preserved, it has clearly deteriorated over the years. I hope my grandkids can see it in future!

Visited yesterday and really enjoyed it. The centre is well laid out and very informative, including a video. The road itself is amazing to see and you appreciate all of the hard work that went into it by the Celts. This centre is well worth a visit and there is a walkway at the back of the centre that takes you out into the bog. We chatted with Noel who shared lots of information about the site and was very knowledgeable.

An archeological treasure in Longford. Such nice friendly staff. Corlea has the potential to be amazing. Needs investment on top of the foundation that is there could make Corlea a great day out for the family. Ample parking and access from the Canal could make this spot an ideal day out for the family. As is it is a budding archeologists dream. A rough diamond that just needs some polishing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Corlea Trackway Centre. The guide was very informative and explained the significance of the Trackway in an entertaining and informative manner. The information boards are well presented and don't talk down to you like some modern attractions. Unfortunately the cafe was closed because of Covid so I cannot comment upon it. The centre is a little off the beaten track but well worth a look.

Lovely Wetlands Park , a spur just off the Royal Canal Greenway ,brings you through working turf banks & forestry,I imagine it a popular spot with walkers, families An Oasis of peace & Calm ,until I ran across 2 very stupid women with 2 Alsatians running free, ruined the ambience & almost ruined my weekend, anyway the complete Loop is 7/8 km long,I'm told by the enthusiastic young Guide in the Visitor centre,He was a very pleasant young man indeed, was keen to show us around ,Very informative & knew his history well, indeed, this place has a compelling story too, with Relics/Replicas/Artifacts recovered of a by gone age, History in the place was very well highlighted displayed, documented, hats off to whoever came up with this venture,Anyone who's never been ,I recommend it ,2/3 different car parks from various roads ,as well as the Canal connection.Let them young guns run free, just watch out for a couple of careless dog walkers!
