My friend and I sat down on the restaurant upstairs and the review is about the overall experience for that particular area of the restaurant. Overall the place and the staff were extremely nice which I can't say for the taste of the food we've been served, especially considering that the average price for a main in that area is close to 30€. We started with a lovely bread loaf they served and set our expectations high only to be disappointed when we got our mains. I was served with a steak which unfortunately was not as tender as I would hope and the chicken ordered by my friend was not fillet as we thought but included wings and the skin. The presentation was nice but the overall taste was average and we both thought that the dishes were overpriced.

Our experience of Coach Lane last was exceptional. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and professional. The setting and the food is top notch. Their speciallity 'Tomahawk steak' for two people sharing is special. Defo one of, if not the best steak experiences we ever had. We just couldn't fault with Coach lane, 10/10. I highly recommend here. (and we eat out a lot) Thank you Coach Lane.

Third Visit- this restaurant never disappoints! Just gets better and better. Genuinely lovely staff and first class food !!!! Second Visit; simply the best restaurant in Sligo.. group of us all treated amazingly with some of the best staff you can ever meet in the industry… great food and wine recommendations and the food was amazing… all 7 of us were very impressed with every element of this restaurant. We done the 2 nights over our weekend visit to Sligo because it was so good. Great find in the centre of Sligo. Upstairs is beautiful and great menu and service. Steak was excellent.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was amazing. Best stew I have ever eaten. Thank you to the manager who squeezed us in before a busy Saturday night service. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Coach Lane left us critical a second Easter in a row. Always top notch for food, choices, service, wine selection and all in a lovely setting. We've eaten upstairs (fancier setting and menu) and downstairs in the bar (lovely, well appointed, something for everyone on the menu) numerous times and nothing disappoints. One of our favorites in Sligo for a quick stop or a celebratory meal. Highly recommend!!

Pretty disappointed as I heard great things about this place. I ordered the ribeye, rare. It came out medium and tough as shoe leather. I couldn't even finish it, sadly. Before I ordered I had asked the young lady waiting on us what she'd recommend. Her response was "oh I don't eat meat"... are you telling me that because you are vegetarian you don't know anything about your menu items?? If I go a BMW dealership do you think the salesperson is going to tell me "oh I only drive hondas so I can't tell you about that car" Management needs to train their staff properly. Having said that, my wife ordered the Guinness beef stew and I can confidently say it was the best I've ever had.

Superb locally sourced produce. Fresh as it comes. Fridges you can view the dry aged beef. The star is this homemade bread, it's unbelievably good. You must try it !

Coach Lane Restaurant should be Michelin starred! My dad and I went to the restaurant on our holiday around Ireland and it was the best meal in Ireland we have had by far. Andy’s (owner and chef) 45 day aged steaks are the best steaks my dad and I have ever had and we live near KC which is known for its bbq and steaks. The homemade bread was phenomenal and the clam chowder was exceptional as well. Very highly recommend eating upstairs and then heading down to the pub sit a while after dinner. We ended up having 3 hours of great conversation with Andy, Andrew and John. Great staff and great food. A must visit when visiting Sligo.

Bloody great steak. Simple. Don't let the story of €120 for the tomahawk steak deter you. Its actually €120 for the steak, plus 2 drinks from the bar plus 3 dipping sauces plus onion rings (devine, best ever) plus chips and also vegetables FOR 2 PEOPLE. Well worth it. Every penny!

Excellent choice for dinner in Sligo. Restaurant and Bar Food menus. It was fairly busy when we got there but they immediately made space for us upstairs. We were all delighted with our time there. We will be back!

Visited Coachlane yesterday for the first time with a group of friends and will be returning ASAP. Everything from the atmosphere, friendly staff and most importantly the food was amazing. Their chicken parmigiana was delicious, would definitely recommend! I would suggest trying their Espresso Martini, easily the best one I’ve had in a long long time.

This is my favourite restaurant in a very long time! From the very nice looking reviews, easy to use Website right through to paying our bill, my husband and I were impressed and we're not easily impressed. This restaurant really does deserves it's awards. I do recommend booking ahead. It's understandably popular and I don't understand why this restaurant isn't no.1 on TA because this easily beats the current fave, hands down, in every aspect. The mixed rustic and contrasting formal decor is lovely; there was a real fire on a chilly evening for example, and the ambience is relaxed yet easily romantic as well. We were comfortable as seating was cushioned. The welcome was warm, friendly, and professional and we felt well taken care of and recieved service and attention of knowledgeable waiting staff who seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience. The choice of dishes made it difficult to choose because they all sounded delicious. One of the main reasons we selected this restaurant was there were fresh oysters on the menu and we weren't disappointed as my husband and I both agreed these were the best oysters we've ever had. We mentioned how fresh they were and were informed they come in fresh from the local bay. They didn't even need the accompaniments. We had the platter of fish and the steak. It came with a selection of red cabbage, new potatoes, carrot and turnip mash plus a choice of sauce. These are generous portions. They dry age their own beef and obviously care about their produce and keeping it local. One won't be leaving this restaurant hungry! Everything was beautifully cooked and served. There is a good choice of wines, table linen is real linen and not disposable, and we felt we received excellent value, so much so that we returned next evening. This isn't something we do often unless it's really very, very good. And this is. Highly recommended.

As good as we remembered! The meat was so succulent and flavoursome! So were the beautifully smooth chocolate merlot sauce, the perfectly cooked green asparagus, the hollandaise that came with the asparagus, and the red cabbage side and mash. The wines were wonderful, and I was delighted at the selection on offer for wine by the glass, which gave us the rare occasion to pick different wines. We enjoyed the desserts, and they were well presented - we shared a selection of mini desserts with our espressos. The staff was really attentive but not overly so. We also got a lovely table by the window in a corner for our anniversary dinner. The pre-dinner cocktail was a nice discovery; my husband had one of the nicest old-fashioned cocktails we've seen or tasted in a long time, and my cosmopolitan was well balanced - not too sweet or sour.

An absolute gem, very understated restaurant. In the down stairs part, the bar is cosy, lots of atmosphere and offers a real taste of the Irish bar. The food is amazing and the onion soup is not to be missed. The restaurant upstairs is probably the best steakhouse in Ireland. It offers a friendly experience with more of the sit down trappings if you want an even out in luxury, it’s got it all. The same kitchen also serves the downstairs bar and therefore the food is excellent in both restaurants.

One of the best place to do a party. The staffs are very friendly. You don't have to wait a lot for your food and drinks, as the staffs do their job well. The food was very good. We were having our company Christmas party here and all of our colleagues liked it here. I recommend this place.

Had a fantastic birthday celebration here on Sunday night. The food was totally amazing, with lots of choices on the menu to suit all taste. Portions were large & sides were delicious. 5 stars for food, service & atmosphere. Love their signature bread. We are already planning to visit again soon. Michèle from Clare.

Food was amazing. We had a tomahawk steak for 2🥩. Very very good! The restaurant is really nice and they have nice atmosphere. The only negative thing that I would highlight it was the waiter that in the small chat thought that I was a childminder just because I am foreigner but I corrected him saying that I just moved to town to accept an offer as an engineer.
