Efficient service and mindful of the children. Wouldn't hesitate in returning with the family. We've found a new spot for lunch in Rosses Point. Will definitely be back. Massive thanks to Lorna, John and the team.

It's been years since we have been here, and oh boy, it was so worth revisiting. The atmosphere is so relaxing. The staff were friendly and attentive and a credit to the place. We had planned on just having a mains, but the menu was so tempting we had a starter, too. Every thing came out looking and smelling amazing and tasted even better. My daughter and I had the salt and chilli prawns for starter, and my husband had the Chowder. Both were amazing. I had the seafood linguine for mains, and it was stuffed with seafood. My husband had the fish and chips, everything was so well seasoned that you didn't even need to add salt to the chips. My daughter had the chicken burger, and the chilli lime mayo on the burger was genius. We all left very full as the portions are generous. We all enjoyed our visit, from the food, the staff and the view it really was a lovely experience.

Just had to share that we had the loveliest evening in Austies. Made extra special because they are dog friendly. The lady that looked after us initially, then our lovely young waitress and our very witty (I think Polish but could be wrong) waiter made everything so easy and enjoyable. The food was as good as we've had in a long long time and not overly expensive. Will definitely recommend and will be back. I never write reviews but felt I had to this time as the overall experience was excellent

Sea food chowder is a must - absolutely delicious. Husband had the Sherlock burger which he thoroughly enjoyed. Staff were lovely. All in all a terrific place to eat.

I haven’t been here for a few years and had forgotten how good this little gem of a bar and restaurant is. Everything about our visit was lovely. Lovely location with fantastic views. Lovely food and drink Lovely friendly staff That should say it all and I would highly recommend Austies to anyone. As value for money goes I would say it’s on par with most gastro pubs now. We had starters and mains with drinks and it came to €103. I know that’s a lot but that is the price you pay nowadays. The quality is top notch so at least you can see and more importantly taste where your hard earned money goes. You can park for free outside and it has a lovely large outside seating area which was very popular with people with dogs having a drink and something to eat. Looking forward to my next visit.

The bar is great, but the restaurant is terrible. They barely have anything on the menu, so we ordered fish & chips which were incredibly greasy and made us all feel sick. The side dishes were also greasy & not well made. Didn't try desserts after all that. Would not recommend. ps, the staff are nice and the decor is good, but that's about it.

Cant recommend Austies enough - just had a family diner there, and the food, service and fun were top notch. The whole team in the bar and restaurent are so welcoming and the service was great. Fish and chips are just fab, and the hickory chicken wings with a pint of G are delicious. Its a regular stop for us when we'r ein the area..

A very friendly and personable experience at Austies. They let us eat with our dog in the bar which was much appreciated (apparently this is only possible when the bar and restaurant capacity allows). Good quality food and very generous portions. Would go back!

Yummy fresh food and friendly staff, great atmosphere you could spend a day and evening here easily, indoors and outside seating. Great fun at the sea shanty festival 2022 with the Dollymount Drifters!!

This review is so belated that it’s practically criminal. We had occasion to spend a couple of days in Sligo in July of 2022, as we made our way up the west of Ireland and into Scotland. We were in town too early to check into our hotel and wanted to find a place to watch Wimbledon. No place was open! Eventually Austies opened and boy, did they make us feel right at home. The bartender directed us to the large back room, with the wide screen tv and located the correct channel for us. And from that point on, we had an absolute blast. Only problem was, the kitchen was closed on that one particular day of the week and we were feeling a bit starved and a wee bit trashed. Enter Lorna, the lovely owner, who made us a grand meal and managed to make us feel even more at home than we already had felt. We spent most of the next afternoon there, as well, as we just knew we wouldn’t find a cozier, more welcoming spot anywhere else in town. Thank you, Lorna, for all of your kindnesses from two very grateful women in America.

The staff is welcoming and accommodating. We got a fab sea view table, but any spot in this place has a charming view and feature. The menu has something for every taste, portions are ok. The seafood chowder was honestly one of the best I have ever eaten, I wished the large portion (as main) had been a bit more generous as portion, but it was absolutely wonderful. The Sherlocks steak was perfection too. Needless to say, the little one lover their burger and their dessert. We will definitely come back on our next stop in Sligo. The customers were both locals and tourists, so it looks like they found a way to be catering for both.

Our third or fourth time to Austies this evening and it was excellent, as always. The food is hearty and delicious, the service is quick and friendly and the banter in the pub is second to none. We have been bringing our dog since she was a tiny pup and every time, she is lavished with attention. John and Lorna run a great business. Strongly recommend.

Lovely wee spot with pleasant staff great food n amazing view. We had a group of 4 with 2 starters 4 mains and one desert (4 spoons).. Food is reasonably priced with nice portions and swiftly served. We where ask to move table as they had a booking in which was a little bit premature of when we had actually wanted to leave the table, but the staff where very nice about it and had left it to the last minute so put the pressure on the staff rather than the customers.. Which i thought was nice, we will return for more lovely grub..

Such a great experience. Super friendly and relaxed service. They brought us jugs of iced tap water without us even asking for it, and refilled it each time it was empty. We both had seafood linguine, which is actually not on the menu anymore but they made it for us anyway and it was genuinely one of the best seafood pastas I have ever had. Great view out of the window. We spent €55 euros (inc tip) for 2 pastas and a Guinness. Call to reserve if you're coming at a peak time. 10/10 recommend.

Nice view across the water and friendly staff. Food tastes ok. Chips seem frozen/overdone, peas bland. Basically a little overpriced for what it is.

Stopped for a quick drink on a rainy evening, pub was jolly so the bartender. Cozy inside, large seating outside. Next time will give a try to their kitchen which looked busy.

Ordered a Guinness Zero and they didn't have it, grand, ordered a white hag but they didn't have that either. Got 2 cokes that were completely flat and in fairness they replaced them, no questions asked, with 2 more flat cokes. Anyway, the music at the Sea Shanty festival was nice so we stayed for half an hour and moved on.

Beautiful. Food was very good, I got the fisherman's pie. It was very nice and creamy. Staff are lovely in the place, very attentive, and the manager/ owner treated us very well. It's a busy place, (above all when sunny) so if you go for food make sure you book in advance. Drinks are nice and cosy at the front bar too.
