Lovely beach/ costal village on the west coast near Sligo. Loads of places to eat, drink and get an ice cream. Beach is very rocky but further down you have the massive sand dunes. Also a good surfing spot

Strandhill beach is lovely, loads of places the eat and drink, a big carpark in the village and some parking on the seafront but it can be very hard to get parked here even on a slightly sunny day. There is no swimming at this beach because of the strong undercurrents but you will see people out surfing. There is a caravan park near the beach, a church, pharmacy and shops in the village and on a Sunday you will find the Strandhill Market on down at the airport. Strandhill beach is lovely to visit at different times off the year. My pictures range from different seasons and times off day.

Best place to come for a walk with your furry friend, your human friend or a new friend.Enjoy the stunning ice creams or burgers or a beer at the restaurants close by.Seaweed baths are there for pampering.Time flies whilst walking here and when you turn around you take a deep breath and gather all your strength to plan your walk up Knocknarea😎😎

Strandhill is a beautiful place for surfers, walkers and campers. It is an excellent location to relax and even have a few pints or a takeaway. Exquisite atmosphere and lovely little shops all around. So much space to walk! Seems endless. Beautiful dunes and historical church just a short walk away, endless hills of grass to stroll through and the beach is vast and expansive, great for dogs. Just a short drive away from Sligo Town. Best camping spot in Ireland!

Beautiful beach. Lovely place to visit and take a stroll. We went in the middle of winter and it was quite busy so I can only imagine what it would be like in summer. Plenty of parking available but get there early as it fills up rapidly.

This is a lovely beach. Great for surfing but no swimming. In the summer it gets extremely busy and parking nearby can be difficult.

Worth visit. Good place for surfing, but swimming is dangerous as high tide. Clean beach. Recommended

Lovely walk, we did the 6km circuit, in the driving wind and rain. Loved every minute, beautiful scenery, just a shame that some dog owners do not clean up after their dogs.

The lack of proper public toilets in this busy seaside beach is a real minus. There are 2 temporary portable toilets at the end of the prom but have questionable hygiene.

Busy spot with a steady stream of visitors. While there are people surfing and paddleboard lessons underway, would not advise the inexperienced to chance these waves...local surf/paddleboard school nearby. A stop into MammyJohnston's after a walk along the beach is a must!
