I went on a freediving retreat with Immersia to Hawaii and cannot recommend them or Bella more highly. The service and level of care was exemplary, every dive tailored to how we were feeling and what our goals were that day. Bella is passionate, empathetic and committed to delivering retreats which truly make an impact beyond the length of the trip. Can’t wait to book the next one.

We had the phenomenal opportunity to join Bella and Ewan for one of their retreats in Moorea diving with humpback whales. I can't say enough great things about both of them, their attention to detail, safety, and the joy of their clients. If you ever have an opportunity to join them on a retreat, do it! From the very beginning, everything was incredibly well organized, communication was clear and thoughtful, each detail was methodically planned and we had so much fun.

Had an amazing time acquiring freediving skills under the guidance of Kate and Alessandro. They dedicated considerable time and energy to instruct on equalisation, my primary learning objective. Both are delightful individuals with a great sense of humour, and they made a concerted effort to ensure everyone felt secure and at ease in their learning journey. Great memories were made and I am excitedly looking forward to participating in more classes!

I'd highly recommend Bella and the team at Immersia. I attended a beginner freediving course, which flowed progressively from theory to practice, which was confidence inspiring. Bella ensured it was a supportive, fun and social course, and it was great to improve and watch everyone else improve across the 2 days.

Totally recommend the breath-holding workshop. As someone who gets anxious under water, I felt so supported and at ease. Bella was amazing and taught me how to be more relaxed. I ended up holding my breath for much longer than I expected 🙂

Had the most amazing weekend snorkelling with the seals and I now have a good taste of free diving which I'd never done but will pursue. The trip was so well organised, professional and the group of people were amazing, everyone so friendly and the seals!! Wow!! What an experience playing with these inquisitive, fun things. It was the best weekend in AND out of the water with this fun crew. Good accommodation and yummy snacks on the boat. Thank you Immersia I'll be back for more. Do yourself a favour, book a trip with them.

Ellen from Immersia was an incredible teacher. She explained everything so clearly and was very supportive throughout. Her technical knowledge was so thorough and has made myself (and the group I was with) very keen to do the weekend course for the level 1 qualification. One aspect that was especially important for me was the distinction she made between our free diving experience vs the competitive scary stuff you see in documentaries. It felt very safe, supportive and fun. What more could you ask for?

Superb weekend diving with seals at Montague Island! Great instructor - thank you Justine! - and a really good atmosphere in the evenings. A perfect weekend away.

I couldn’t be happier that my first ever freediving experience has been with the team from Immersia. Both Kate and Alessandro were superb instructors and so knowledgeable. I felt safe and comfortable around them the entire weekend. Thank you guys so much, I’ll definitely be back for another course or retreat!

Friendly and fun. Drive is long. Word of advise don’t drive on your own. Be prepared to sleep in rooms with others. Not easy to find a dive buddy if you’re on your own. Make sure to bring your go pro. Wished I had photos taken of me by Immersia free dive or even offered at least :( But didn’t get a chance to which was sad. Would just be nice to cook like a BBQ instead of having to spend money at the pub each day. Overall not too bad. Wish there were options to shower after on the last day we leave. Not convenient to drive home 5 hours in a wet bikini.

I went on a freediving with seals weekend in Narooma. Hands down one of the best experiences I have ever had. The team at Immersia are really lovely and welcoming. I will definitely go on more trips in the future! 🦭

We did the Padi Freediver Course this weekend and had such a great time. We felt well looked after by Sylvia and Lisa, who really made sure we learn all basics of safe freediving. Both are so experienced and shared individual feedback with us after every dive. The theory part was informative, relevant and to the point. We had fun in the pool and open water. We're hooked and can't wait to jump into the water again soon, will definately think of Immersia Freediving when considering more practice sessions or getaways. Thank you!

I happened to join immersia with the first course in January, taught by Kate. who has been extremely kind, sweet, and very knowledgeable while using a gentle and extremely real approach. I madly fell in love with freediving and met some people in the community to dive with. I had no idea that the best was yet to come… one spot left in the Moorea retreat-freediving with whales. I couldn’t resist. I left with zero expectations because I am aware that interactions with wildlife can be tough and the weather might not be in favour, plus finding yourself in a group of 8 that could potentially not match can be challenging. Not only we got to see wonders (Ewan’s photos below) but also I got to witness the passion, care and love that Bella and Ewan put in what they do. which is truly inspiring and heart-filling. The retreat itself allowed everyone to feel 100% ourselves at all times. which I find very special considering we were basically strangers before then. Not to mention the care we have been shown by our lovey vegan chef in the house, who catered for us very nourishing meals. Our two skippers Rahui and Teui have also demonstrated to be profoundly respectful while following and approaching wildlife. Forever grateful for this out-of-this-world experience you guys created.

I absolutely loved my PADI Freedive course with Bella and the Immersia team. Bella is very focused on safety which is critical for free diving but at the same time makes the whole experience fun and joyous. She's a great teacher so concepts were easy to grasp and has oodles of patience. I can't recommend the experience enough.
