Thoroughly enjoy attending the performances offered at Va. Rep. The atmosphere and experience are top notch. I am also grateful with how they work with the community to provide opportunities to groups with varying needs.

The show Beautiful was GREAT! The seats were more comfortable than most (decent leg room). Small venue, which was nice. Also the temperature was quite comfortable. Thankfully! So why not 5 stars? First, there is no decent parking. Yeah, they have arrangements with a couple of garages a few blocks away. But for the average fan of this show (60s or older) in July, that sucks. We were just lucky the torrential rains had stopped. Also, I went to the matinee. I would have VERY uncomfortable walking alone at night on Broad Street. Maybe offer valet parking, for a fee? I would have gladly paid it. Second, totally inadequate seating in the lobby, and they don't open the doors until 30 minutes prior. Again, with this demographic, you might want to rethink that. I am glad I went to this show. But I will consider carefully before future shows there.

I went to see the Dreamgirls production on Sunday July 31st. This was a wonderful Off-Broadway reproduction of the movie. I would have given this 5 stars but there were a couple of things that made me have strong reservations. I would have liked the gift shop to stay open after the play was over to purchase items but instead it closed shortly after intermission. Also in the balcony the guards do not have flashlights and the steps are carpeted and uneven which makes it very hard to navigate. I would have liked to see even tap lights on the sides of the steps to help people get around in the balcony. I understand that it is a historic theater so the seats are small but the intermission was too late into the program so you sat uncomfortably for a long period of time, I heard a lot of complaints in the crowd. I love the set I loved the costumes I love the singers (the character Jimmy was amazing). My favorite set change was how they used people and inanimate objects as the red carpet very creative . In summary it was a great program and I plan to see a full production this year.

Their productions are all very professionally done: actors, sets music, and costumes. The building is very nice, well maintained and clean. It is a nice size where every seat provides a good view. Only negative is that you have to find a parking space on the streets. Personnel are very friendly and personable.
