I waited for a whole month and multiple times of eating here to give this review. The staff are amazing and very friendly. The place is always clean, they make sure to double clean when people leave as well. The food(s) are awesomesauce and it’s always a hit, never a miss with this place. I love the Authenticity of Korean fried chicken they have here. You even get the radish. Their side dishes are good too and I love their overall menu but my favorite that I seem to go back for always is the half and half flavor fried chicken. For my military folks, they have military discount. There is an upstairs to eat at but unfortunately due to COVID it can’t be used. Sunday parking is free y’all so go check this place out. I guarantee that you’ll love it too They also have a bar there. I personally haven’t tried it but it’s there for my drinkers/adventurers.

The chicken was crispy but the sauce variations were drastic. The soy garlic seemed milder ( seemingly watered down) than I’m used too and the spicy garlic too freaking hot 🥵… I was given old radishes, a tablespoon of dressing for an old slimy salad with TRANSLUCENT cucumbers…yeah translucent. ( See pic) Translucent =OLD, very old! A $13 OLD inedible salad…Is there food consistency anywhere these days…sigh

Usually good but today I got the tiniest chicken tenders. Paid $20 and it looks like I’m eating scraps. Hiltop location gives you actual chicken strips. Should’ve gone to Torch or Peck n Pour for this kind of money

A nice pleasant surprise. Visiting and wanted something good but simple. The staff, especially Caroline was very very attentive. I ordered ginger sesame salad with chicken. Umm umm good. The cukes were fresh, chicken tasty, onions and red peppers crunchy 😋. Just dog gone good. They are waiting for their liquor license. So don't let the fact that you can't get your drink on stop you from patronizing this place. I notice they do all the deliveries; Uber, Door Dash, etc. It's on the corner. Sit down or carry out or delivery. I liked 👍 it a lot. Thanks you guys.

Looks and tastes like a $45 meal for only a $14 price tag. Chicken was absolutely phenomenal, they got their coleslaw figured out which I find these days restaurants usually struggle to do so. Love the hipster bar aesthetic with the anime and sports options playing in the background. Hospitality was great and the waiter always made sure I had a full drink. Can't recommend this place enough.

I’ve been going to bon chon for years and I’ve noticed that the quality of the wings have changed. The wings use to be bigger with more batter and meat I don’t know if it just changed with this location or if it’s the whole chain but if that’s the case they’re going down hill from here. If you’ve be a fan for years you would notice…to most it might not seem like a huge deal but when you’re paying $50 plus I would consider them basics like every other wing stop. That’s just my opinion. If you’ve gotten this far take the time to look at the previous pics of how the wings use to look …you’re wings are going to look completely different.

This location is located in Downtown Norfolk across from TCC College. It's on the corner and it has two stories. The upstairs is mainly for large parties. The downstairs is for four or fewer parties, pickups, and the bar. I have been wanting to try Korean fried chicken, and it did not disappoint. It's best to come with a party because the food is very pricey. You get to choose from small, medium, or large. The higher you go, the more the cost. Since it was our first time there, we were warned that they do not season their chicken. The flavor comes from the sauce in which they put on their chicken. The choices are Soy Garlic or Spicy, and you can get it mixed. It may come with pickle radish or coleslaw. I just so happened to try both. The pickle radish was very hard and crunchy. The coleslaw wasn't as flavorful but decent. We had mixed wings, and I must say I liked them both! They were juicy, crunchy, and bursting with flavor. We also had a side order of fries and white rice. My daughter had plain wings and rice. We also tried the Korean BBQ chicken wings and it was not hitting. We did end up taking wings home as well. I will definitely recommend this place, and I will be back again. They also have another location in Virginia Beach if you do not wish to travel to Norfolk.

There is no wrong food choice at Bonchon. The bibimbap is delicious, the loaded fries are delicious, the fried rice is delicious, but of course the best thing is the WINGS. By far the best wings I've ever had. A bit pricey but a great place to come with a few friends to split a big order of wings and sides. The atmosphere is cool and friendly and makes you want to keep coming back again and again.

The Spicy chicken tacos are unbelievably good! Half and Half wings were good as well. I tasted my buddy's pork potstickers and those were tasty as well. It was my first time here and I was impressed. Nice spot on Granby St, plenty of TVs to watch, and a chill overall ambiance. I will definitely come back to try more food and bring the family.

I ordered the boneless wings for lunch. The pieces looked like they have been bit off. They were very crunchy and tasteful, it was just weird being served food that looks like that. The server was good

First time trying Korean food in Norfolk! I got Bulgogi udon soup and my peeps got a large box of amazing wings! I tried a few and they were flavored and crispy to each bite. Very flavorful and the meat was tender and juicy like they just came out of the fryer. Highly recommend it if you like wings, give this place a try! The only thing is that this placed used to take numbers and call us back when a seat is available now we have to stand there to wait for a table. It seems a bit awkward for the seated people and perhaps makes them uncomfortable when they eat.

Bonchon offers a unique menu with lots of variety. If you are a fan of fried chicken, I recommend trying them out. They have lots of options that are great on their own. Even though this restaurant is a chain, it is a chain I highly recommend. Service: Our waitress was not super attentive but the other staff seemed very on top of it. Cleanliness: Pretty clean overall, bathrooms needed attention Bar: A few beers on tap and a few mixed drink options. Price: Individual meals are reasonably priced with the chicken being pricer. All very worth it. Music/Atmosphere: The store has lots of people moving in and out of the front door, for delivery and pick-ups. The music choices aren't the greatest.

The food was delicious but the service was lacking. It took about 10 minutes before anyone took our drink order. Then, the food took a long time to arrive. We were not all served at the same time so that was a little annoying. Let’s go back to the food. It was delicious. Worth the wait, maybe! I was about what I would expect to pay for lunch and it was delicious. I think I could have another slider for the value but I’m not bashing the place. It was tasty. Biggest gripe would be how slow the service was, I was informed that it was shift change time so they apologized but still. I would definitely give it a second chance. But is service is consistent slow, my rating would stay a 3 star.

Had a horrible experience here today. First time going to this location and ordered curbside since it's in the city with hard-to-find parking. There was no designated curbside spot so when I finally found street meter parking, I thought, I'll just run in quick and grab it even though I paid a tip for curbside. Well I go in and they have no order for me even though I had confirmation and had already paid. No sense of urgency whatsoever. Meanwhile I had to go back out to the car to feed the meter since it was obviously going to be awhile. So now I've not only paid a tip for service I did not get, I've now also had to pay the meter and not even an apology from the manager or an attempt to make it right by me, the customer. Now as for the food that I eventually got. I ordered the zucchini fries. Well I don't know if Bonchon doesn't know the difference between yellow squash and zucchini but these were definitely yellow squash and we're so greasy, that the grease saturated paper bag ripped as I took them out of the plastic bag and they fell all over the floor rendering them inedible and a complete waste. I'm providing some pics of them after I picked them up off the floor. My suggestion to Bonchon would be to first use actual zucchini in your zucchini fries and second, serve them in something a little sturdier in the future. I can't believe I actually spent $40 on this mess. Never again!!

Consistently amazing service and, by far, the best Korean-style wings you can get in Hampton Roads. The spicy wings definitely have the best flavor. The last time we went they came out super fast too! I don’t know what took us to long to try this place; but I’m happy we did! One day we’ll branch out and try more items on the menu; but it’s just so hard to not order those wings! Also, the pickled radish is fantastic, takes the edge off of the heat from the wings catches you off guard.

First time here and was a little skeptical. Even though we had to wait for some things during our meal, the waiter (Darin) was very apologetic and explained the delay (had a large party all paying separately). He was a great waiter! The pot stickers were delicious but if you get the spicy flavor, it is VERY spicy. The bulgogi fried rice was was tasty but on the oily side. The wings were fantastic and super crispy. All and all I will definitely be back here and looking forward to my next experience! Definitely recommend.

Amazing place, should have ate in. The food above par! Tried spicy which I'm not a fan of but was a tasteful tingle. The pickled radishes cleans the palate. Left asking for a job so I can come back.

Our first time here. I was under the impression it's a wing joint so we ordered the family deal...it's a fried chicken joint! 18 pieces of chicken was aLOT. There were leftovers for sure! Potstickers were very crunchy (good thing in my opinion, slaw was tasty and the pickled cucumber was delicious. Fried rice also very tasty. Now the chicken...the chicken was awesomeness! Crunchy flavorful meaty delicious! We'll be back for sure!

I've always loved this restaurant and decided to introduce my friends from Florida the wonderful flavors of Bonchon. When we sat down, my eyes kept darting to the poster for the new Loaded Bulgogi Fries. The picture looked amazing but I was hesitant about ordering it. One of my friends ordered the Loaded Bulgogi Fries, the other ordered Bulgogi and kimchi. I ordered 8 Half and Half Drumsticks and 8 Half and Half Potstickers so they could give them a try. My friend loved the Bulgogi, it was good when I had my sample. The drumsticks and the potstickers were a hit for them. BUT THE STAR OF TODAY'S SHOW WAS THE DAMN LOADED BULGOGI FRIES!! Ladies and gentlemen, you have to try this! The fries are perfectly fried and seasoned and the bulgogi is layered on top of the fries. Honestly, the fries are fabulous solo dolo but with the bulgogi the taste sensation explodes in your mouth. I will definitely return here to order my own order of the Loaded Bulgogi Fries. Our server was great, the restaurant was clean, & the vibes were nice with some good tunes playing in the background while there are a few TV's playing sports and other programming.
