The untimely passing of my husband was devastating to me and my daughters. Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home was so amazingly supportive through out the entire process. Carla Robertson, a funeral service intern, was amazing. She guided us every step of the way. She was so compassionate, and quite honestly, we don't know what we would have done without HER! This was our second time dealing with Parklawn, the first being our dad six years ago. The staff was warm and inviting as well as professional and knowledgeable with regards to our needs. We want to thank everyone involved from our director Carla to everyone who took the time to speak with us when we went to pick up our mom’s cremains.

They were professional and cared - listened to me and heard my desires to honor my husband. Rating on pressure was a positive one - I needed reminders to keep moving on things that were time sensitive. They did an excellent job on my mother's funeral. Sarah was especially helpful, going out of her way to make sure everything was perfect! Bret hosted the service and he did a wonderful job capturing who she was and honoring her life. The catering was delicious and well-presented. Parklawn took care of everything upon the loss of our mother. She passed away in North Carolina. They handled all the details to transport her to back to Virginia. It was extremely helpful that everything could be completed remotely. They sent pictures and made sure that everything was perfect for both the wake and funeral. I would highly recommend Parklawn.

Parklawn made this difficult time comforting. Carla was professional but very attentive to me and my family, answering questions, explaining every detail, giving us privacy when needed. She was most efficient in the handling of each and every aspect , especially military honors,and going in on her day off to make absolutely sure everything was as it should be. The rest of the team during the service was exceptional as well.With no prior arrangements made, the dreaded visit to arrange details was finalized giving us time to make decisions with no intrusions.We extend our most gracious gratitude to Parklawn-Wood, Hampton, Virginia.

For this business there should be no stars! I attended my friends memorial service at Park-Lawn Wood that was in deed the owners hairdresser for 50 years. I guess she forgot how well he accommodated her. She had no consideration for the guests that attended the service that was done during their building construction. The noise was very loud and you couldn’t hear the serum. The lobby was a mess and mostly the ladies room was a reck. One sink working and the mirrors were on the floor that I had to swat to touch up my mascara from tears. Really Miss Chanel! You had no respect but only greed for Danny’s service which. Never saw you after you bolted out the door upon my arrival with Danny’s husband. You are a piece of work!!

The folks at Parklawn-Wood have taken care of my parents with an over whelming kindness, and professional manor. They made sure to answer all questions, and offer to help in areas I never expected.

They were sensitive to meet our needs. We had to make last minute changes due to bad weather and they were very accommodating. When they completed the prep, my mother looked beautiful.

Gary and Carla were very attentive and responsive, and Bert, the celebrant, did an amazing job making the service feel like a true celebration of life, which is exactly what we wanted. I was glad that I picked Parklawn-Wood funeral home. We had Robert as our funeral director. I feel Robert went above and beyond his duties during this difficult time . He went over every aspect with different options, and was patient with all of my questions. He did not make me feel pressured in any way. He took care of all the big details of the funeral, but he also took care of the little things that most people don’t even think about. Everything was handled with compassion and I have no complaints.

The staff of Dignity Memorial (Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home) did an amazing job in assisting our family navigate through unfortunate circumstances. They made us aware of all their resources and provided great counsel as to what would work best for our family. We’re very thankful for their service.

From the moment you walk in you are met by an unwelcoming and rude lady at the front desk. There was another lady there who was pleasant. Put her up front and make a better impression. Our loved one was coming from another state. The funeral home there did all the pre service, preparation, and transport. Park Lawn had prepared a bill overcharging us $4000 for services they DID NOT provide. Thank goodness we were diligent in going over our bill before paying. I can only assume they take advantage of grieving families at their most vulnerable time. I know they did when my dad passed and my mom was seeing to the arrangements and paying the bill. Shame on you Park lawn! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere! Find a funeral home that considers their services a ministry to grieving families and not just a business.

Parklawn does good work. The staff is really polite and engaging. Also Parklawn is like a one stop place for all your funeral needs. They were amazing.

Parklawn-Wood hosted my Father-in-law's funeral service. They were polite and professional and we really appreciated what they offered during our time of mourning.

Everyone that I have met so far has been warm, attentive to my needs and very professional. But maybe that part of our relationship is over now that you have my signature on a contract? I received information about your pre planning service at a pride event in Norfolk. On that occasion I declined to provide my email address and I stated very clearly that I absolutely did not want to receive unsolicited sales emails. Our lives are so inundated with these non stop every day just about every where we turn and I personally absolutely hate it. I reiterated that request on both visits to your Armistead Avenue offices and I was reassured by both employees that they would respect that boundary. But a little while ago I received an email requesting that I solicit my friends and family to purchase your services. I made it very clear that I was doing this because I had no family and no friends close enough to take care of this stuff! IT is not my place to sell your services and products! The most upsetting aspect of this for me is that you have already shone a willingness to totally disregard my wishes while I am still here and I have some recourse to deal with that. How am I supposed to trust you to keep your word after I have passed and have no recourse? I was not permitted to respond to your solicitation . My only option was to unsubscribe from receiving emails from you. But I don’t know that that was a good choice either because now I don’t know if by unsubscribing I will miss emails that I need to facilitate the execution of our contract.This is most definitely not a good start to this relationship. From start to finish Park Lawn made my Mother's funeral arrangements as painless as possible. Kayla truly took care of us and my Father as if we her own family. There were several changes my father made. Some were very last minute including her clothes after she was ready. Kayla said no problem at all. Wow.
