So we were looking for a place to eat in the one place we wanted to go to was close. Thank God because you never can judge a book by its cover. I had by far achieved 1of the best steaks I've ever had. There is no menu when you sit down at the table. The chef or cook comes out to your table & and asks how thick you want your steak? It comes with baked 🥔 grilled 🍞 and baked 🌰 I'm glad we only got the 8oz We still have enough leftovers 1 meal each. It's a little pricey but well worth the detour. BTW, I don't think the steaks were 8oz it looked a lot bigger.

This older establishment, single entree menu is a unique experience... service was very attentive and the decor very underwhelming and dated... the custom steak cutting presentation was the saving grace and wow factor... Although the finished plated steak lacked a good sear or seasoning ... the self serve salad bar was very tasty along with the baked potato... per person pricing is around $60... be sure to include the grilled onions which are included... they are top notch...

From the minute I walked in, I could sense I was in for a treat. We were instructed to pick our table and were immediately asked what we wanted to drink. Drinks were brought, and then the magic started. The Beefmaster came to our table, toting a Ribeye and cutting board. He asked what'll it be and cut our steaks in front of us. He then sent us to the salad bar (homemade bacon pieces, peanuts!). I ordered a glass of sweet red wine and a delicious Lambrusco arrived at my table. Short wait, then steak, baked potato, toppings, and onion were served. Husband's first words "that is perfect." THANK YOU for the great experience. Note: That is the menu, steak. No chicken, fish, etc. You get salad, steak, baked potato, bread. And it is absolute perfection. Oh, and TEN tables. We arrived at 5:45 and were there about an hour. A few tables occupied when we got there, very full when we left. I'd arrive early.

This is one of those local places where if you know, you know, and if you don't, you might easily pass this gem by. You'll likely have some wait time as the seating area is on the small side, but it's worth the wait and people are known to tailgate on busier nights. There is no menu, other than a slab of beef presented at the table, with cuts sized for 8oz and up. You get a well equipped salad bar, a baked potato, and your cut, cooked to your spec. There are a few choices for wine and beer to compliment your meal as well. What they do with your cut could be called magic, but it's clearly experience at play here. I dare say it's the best steak I've ever had. The Beefmaster Inn is a testament to the phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." In this case, I agree wholeheartedly.

Subtle roadside building you may have driven past without noticing. It’s a hidden gem. Small, often packed but for good reason. You get one choice of ribeye or ribeye lol, a block of meat is brought over to the table and you choose the size of the cut. Go to the very ample salad bar buffet to fix what you desire. He said they make their own thousand island, but I’m a ranch person. The steak arrived perfect medium as requested, and I’m usually a sauce user, but the flavor with the separate baked onion was spot on. Baked potato was good as well with butter and sour cream on the table. It’s a higher end price meal but one I would return for on a regular basis if I could.

So glad we finally got to enjoy The Beefmastor, and it did not disappoint! One of the best steak I've ever had and the simple, straightforward experience was awesome. Do one thing and be the best at it.

Decided to give this place a try while visiting Wilson, NC for a baseball tournament. What an amazing experience! I can’t say enough good about this place. They only serve ribeye, potato, bread, & salad. Maybe like 8-10 tables in the restaurant. You get to tailgate while waiting and they have cornhole outside. All part of the experience! One of the best steaks that I’ve had from a restaurant. If I’m ever anywhere near this place I will be going back. Highly recommend and I thought reasonable pricing for what you get.

This place should be on your bucket list if you like ribeyes. Small, cozy, country place where the chef brings the whole ribeye roast to the table so you can choose your size steak. While it's being grilled to order, the all you can eat salad bar awaits packed with a nice, fresh selection of salad items. Steak is served with baked potato & grilled bread. Sweet tea or water cones with it, but they also offer sodas, beer, & wine.

Words are just not sufficient. What an experience. It’s that - an experience. I’m so thankful we didn’t go with the ball team this time to the pizza place because we would’ve missed this! Bring you some drinks and a fishing chair for the wait… enjoy the other nice folks that have come to experience the Beefmastor. That’s part of the charm! When you open the front door, you almost bump into the master of the grill. Be prepared for a tiny little place but that’s part of the charm. The salad bar was amazing and the fixings are so fresh. My only regret… I prioritized the potato before the steak. 😂 this meal is something to strategize about.

The steak and salad were very good! But for the price that you pay for the food I would expect a little bit better atmosphere and service, not to say that the service was bad but at those prices it should be a little bit more classy. Still a good experience with a great steak.

Excellent food, one of the best fresh salad bars l have ate from and everyone that worked there made sure you were taken good care. Everything that they present to you were well presented and food cooked to perfection. We drove from Durham, NC after hearing from a friend. It is worth the try, you will go back again. To the owner and workers, it was well worth the drive. Continu with your excellent services.
