Holy moley!! This is special. Top tip at the bottom of the review. Usually, when I read "great pizza" in a remote, non-European, humid location I think, "bad pizza, but better than you expect". This place ACTUALLY has amazing pizza. We'll be going back to sample the pasta which also looked fantastic. Please note the photos were taken in the dark. It's better in real life! :) TIP: There is no secret about this place. Most of the tables were taken when we visited (April 2022) and the island was very, very quiet. As it gets busier, I strongly suspect that you'll struggle to get a table here. BOOK IN ADVANCE!

Excellent! The pizzas quality was great, very tasty all of them. Also the staff was very friendly and attentive, which makes you feel comfortable and enjoy your food and time dinning in. The prices were ok so nothing to complain about, quite the contrary. We will come back again if we pass by Gili Air in the future!

Good quality food served to you on the beach. Great spot for sunset, gorgeous views! Prices are on the higher side for the island but worth the bit extra. It was quite windy on the beach, with one gust of wind my pizza went flying from the waiter landing on my head 🤣 the staff couldn’t apologise enough & offered to cook me another pizza. I refused as the pizza landed the right way up & I was able to catch it before it hit the sand. Couldn’t fault the professionalism of the staff.

All the positive reviews and hype are fully justified! The pizza was among the best i have ever had anywhere (better than anything i had in north Italy) And the location is stunning. Just 2m from where i was sitting i could jump into crystal blue tropical water that is bathtub-warm and less than 1m deep. No waves because of the offshore reef, so many people just sit and relax. I arrived at 4 for a swim and I could only get drinks and sun. At 5:30 they start serving pizzas. I noticed that every table was occupied from 6:30-8:30, so be prepared to wait if you don't come early.

Great job team. One of the best pizza i have ever tried! I had the veggie BBQ, amazing. My husband the burrata one, also so good Worth the waiting time. One thing to be improved: follow the order of customers.... A couple that sit after us got their pizza before us...

Great place! The best pizza on the island. Taste like in Italy. Fresh ingredients, great dough and wide menu to choose. Chapeau bas for the owner. 👌🏻 The list of drinks is also good, everyone will find something for itself. Great service, really polite and helpful people work here. That are huge part of this place. We were surprised how occupied was this place. When we came every each table was taken, but we waited 15-20 min. and we got sea front table. 😍

Amazing pizza and the staff were very happy and friendly. Don't usually go for pizza when in tropical climates but this was recommended by multiple people so we had to go, and it didn't disappoint. Great views for sunset 😍. Some music (even if quiet) would have been nice during/after sunset for 5☆

Not recommended. Taste actually is ok. It's just i got quite raw spaghetti. When i eat it, the middle part is still quite hard. And when i ask the waiter regarding it, they just say they don't know and "maybe" the standard here is like this. They don't even bother to take it back to kitchen to check it. I'm just too lazy to argue. 800k for 1 pizza, 1 spaghetti, 1 fettucini, 1 starter and 2 drinks. The most expensive food i have in the island.

This place is amazing!! We ordered a cheese therapy pizza just before the sunset and it was out of this world!! Because we wanted even more, also took away a margarita for later on :) Highly recommend the Fresh P juice as well!! The whole experience was great!! Staff is so friendly and kind! You have to go and try it yourself. They accept card payments as well.

Very delicious pizza and cocktails! I would recommend to come in early, as it is hard to get a seat before sunset. We had dinner on the best spot, just in front of the sea with amazing sunset view. Prices are higher than the other restaurants on the island, but worth it.

June 2022 - My wife and I recently had dinner at Mama Pizza and everything was delicious. Authentic and delicious Italian pizza, great staff, good wine and located directly on the beach. This was the best meal we had in Gili Air. Even if all of the other restaurants were open we would choose to return for their lovely Italian food with a beautiful s sunset view. Pizzas are great as is the bruschetta.

Pizza is one of my favorite dishes back in Europe where we have plenty of great Italian Pizza restaurants. That being said: Mama Pizza’s pizza is amazing! I really, really enjoyed every single slice! 🥰 On top of the great pizza the service is super fast and really friendly. The operations of this place are super efficient. This is the business person talking :) Must go to place when you’re on Gili Air and fancy some European food 👌

Very beautiful place in front of the beach, the food is good, you can enjoy a good pizza. The prices are high compared the local food and other places. The only real problem for me was that they bring to us something without ask and put it on the bill and make some mistake in the bill. So my advice is to try it if you are not to short with money but check two times the bill before pay.

It's insane that you travel around the world onto a tiny island of Indonesia to get one of the best pizze you ever had in your life. Fantastic crust, good quality toppings, super friendly and professional staff, all of it of course at an amazing sunset location right on the beach. The nice local Bali wine was a real surprise. Great value for the money. If craving for pizza on your travels a MUST GO.

We were surprised by the authenticity of the pizza and to find a place like this on the Gilis. Pizza is as delicious and the cherry of the cake is the impressive sunset view. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing authentic italian food, very kind staff, and a beautiful setting to enjoy the sunset - options to sit on bean bags on the sand or at a table. The pizza burrata is incredible. We couldn’t wait to go back! Be sure to get there early to avoid missing out!

Good pizza that came quickly after ordering. They have a stone oven that is heated up with gas. Really liked their desserts as well, prices are also reasonable in my opinion. Good place to catch the sunset. They have vegan and vegetarian options. They also take credit card 💳 (3% fee)

Perfect spot to sip slowly on a cocktail, whilst enjoying a windsurfing show. Sexiest pizzas in town -made with elegance and the finest ingredients. Fun and friendly attentive staff. Highly recommended

This review is long overdue! I’ve eaten here so many times since I moved to this gorgeous island. They’ve always been consistent with the quality and flavor of every dish they serve. The staff...all happen to be the friendliest and most attentive. The manager, Ed, happens to have the professionalism, manners, and friendliness of high-end restaurants I’ve been in around the world. The stunning views of the beach and mountains, and ambience are amazing! When on Gili Air, this place is must try!

First and foremost, the pizza is excellent and the service is very good. The sunset here is also breathtaking (the attached photo is not edited). My biggest tip is to arrive as early as possible to get a table - it gets very busy as the sun goes down. Highly recommended as one of the best food spots on the island.

We really enjoyed our evening at Mama Pizza. There aren't a lot of restaurants open on the island right now, but even if there were, we are sure this place would still top our list of best food finds! Delicious arancini, Gnocchi di patate al ragu D'Angelo, and pizza, fabulous cocktails and chiffon chocolate cake! Great customer service from friendly Ed and lovely ambiance completed our happy place. Beautiful beach to enjoy dining by candlelight with the sand between your toes and stars twinkling overhead ☺️ Thanks! Pace and Mace will be back as soon as we can!

Nice place, the beach was gorgeous.. the food tasty.. and the cafe was good. The pizzas was delicious.. like in Italy.. the staff really kind.. I recommend this place highly.

Everything is perfect, amazing food offer and variety. The flavours are excellent, pizza is quickly ready and incredibly tasteful. We went just interested because of the queues. The fist day we went for dinner pizza, but we had to repeat the day after to try pasta dishes and happy to do that. The service is incredibly good, probably best restaurant in the island. Please stay open Mama Pizza, we will try to come back!

Best pizza we've had in Indonesia. Fries (we try them everywhere) were quite tasty. The potato & cheese balls were ridiculously good... The order only includes 3, which was nearly the cause of a marital spat until we reluctantly decided to split one. Definitely worth a stop!

Super high quality pizza on a small remote island… amazing. The bread here is top tier, the bolognese was so good, the pizza was incredible. The cocktails were well balanced and plentiful. We didn’t have room for dessert but I’m sure they were great. A must try if you are into pizza and find yourself on Gili Air.

Probably the best pizzas you can eat in the all of Gili islands. It’s not cheap by Indonesian standards, not the most convenient location getting to but damn the pizzas are good. There’s a good reason this restaurant is full of peoples when most other restaurants are struggling after Covid.

I cannot rate this place highly enough. The pizza was hands down as good as any I've had in Italy or Paris. The stuffed ravioli was also excellent. This is probably one of the best restaurants in gilli air but maybe even Bali!

Nice restaurant with good food although a bit expensive. The Focaccia Bruschetta was really delicious. The pizza was good too but the veggie BBQ Pizza could have more vegetables on it. And be early if you don’t want to wait.

Best pizza on Gili Air!! Get there early in order to get a table on the beach. We arrived by 5:15pm. By 5:45 there were 40 or more people waiting for a table. Excellent sunset views and just a really cool vibe. We stayed until around 8:30pm.
