I contacted ABCS (African Big Cats Safaris) in October of 2022 to plan my wife's 50th birthday 'bucket list' trip for late January 2023. From the beginning, Justice & Naomi were amazing to help us plan it. The hardest part was trusting that we could send money by wire to a company in Africa, from the USA. I was definitely terrified I would never see the money again. I looked up other reviews of ABCS and only saw 5-stars - it seemed to good to be true. How amazing it was that it was even better! I’m so happy we trusted ABCS to do this trip. It went off without a hitch! Our guide, Vanance Malisa was there to greet us on time, when we arrived and everything went excellent from the beginning. Vanance was always was patient and always had an answer. Emmanuel came and met with us to go over the trip ahead and ensure we were prepared. He also set expectations for safety on our trip. Great guy! At our request, Vanance took us to visit a Maasai village on the way to the Serengeti. This was one of the highlights of our trip. We did the Serengeti Hot Air Balloon Safari that Vanance set up for us. That was amazing. He got us to see every animal we wanted to see on our safari - and more. My wife was teary eyed when he dropped us at the Seronera Airstrip to fly to Zanzibar at the end of the safari. Vanance felt like a member of our family. We had trust and care for him. Continuing on to Zanzibar, ABCS did a great job setting up our flights and when we landed in Zanzibar, they had everything in place for a guide and driver to pick us up and take us on a tour of Stone Town and to our hotel in a nice modern van. It was really incredible. They also arranged for our stay at Hotel Z, which is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. EVER! We can’t recommend African Big Cats Safaris enough. They exceeded all our expectations and we have already heard from friends that want to book through them now too, seeing how great our trip was with them.

We purchased the 6 day 5 night African safari package from this company. This included the free pickup from our lodge or airport, accommodation for all days, food, camp permits and Park permits, camping tents and safari vehicles along with a guide and a cook. The website provided very detailed and clear information about the places covered, places we stated each night and the Kind of wildlife we can expect to see every day. Asher seeing this we requested an online quote and the response was immediate and the details of the quote were very clear and the process were very affordable. They were also open to customize the tour based on our needs. They also accommodated really well about our dietary restrictions ( two of us are vegetarian and one of us is vegan). Our trip guide Khalid picked us up from our lodge in Arusha in the first day. Their punctuality is really commendable. They are always ready ahead of time ( we requested a 9 am pickup and they were there by 8.45 itself). First day we stayed at a really nice hotel named Forest Hill which had a really great room, view of Mt Meru, and really nice restaurant as well( food was covered in the package). The next day we started from the hotel at 6 am and drove to Lake Manyara National park. The next day covered Ngorongoro crater, followed by two days inside Serengetti National park and then we concluded the trip with Tarangire National park. Our guide Khalid was very knowledgeable and resourceful and really fun person to talk to. He has a very keen eye for noting wildlife as well as birds. He also has a great knowledge of recognizing the types of birdss as well. In addition he used the radio communication system ( used by the guides within any park) to work with others to get information about wildlife sightings in different parts of the park and also knew the roads inside the park very well to get us there quickly so that we could get a really good view which enabled us to take great pictures and videos. In addition he was accommodating enough to start the game drives ( drives to spot wildlife in the park) early in the morning and continue until later in the evening. We were able to spot the Big 5 of African wildlife ( Elephants lions leopards wild buffaloes and black rhino) throughout the safari, most of them multiple times in close quarters. We were also lucky to spot cheetahs and also leopard with their cubs, huge pride of lions and lionesses and their cubs. Khalid was very engaging in providing information about the sightings , their movement patterns food habits and hunting patterns etc. This was very useful especially in Tarangire park which is home to a diverse collection of birds. In addition I also have to give a huge complement to our chef Vitoress. He used to assemble our tents and provide is with delicious food presented very elegantly. Every day he’s used to cook a different soup and provide a distant main course entree which sometimes made us forget that we were in the middle of a forest 😬. Overall the organization and the tour personnel were really great. I would highly recommend this to my friends ( especially the guide Khalid and our chef Vitoress). Thanks for providing us with an experience to remember forever.

We had an excellent experience with African Big Cats Safaris. My partner and I did a 5 day safari for our honeymoon and African Big Cats organized everything so we had an amazing time. Our guide, Obedi, was a joy to be with. He was incredibly knowledgable about all the animals and worked with other guides to make sure we saw as much as possible. The accommodation was great and every meal was taken care of--we ate very well throughout the trip. Our entire itinerary was meticulously planned and we were able to see so much--we went to Lake Manyara for the first day, the Ngorogoro crater the second day, two days in the Serengeti (including a magical evening at a glamping lodge), and a final day at Tarangire. If you are looking for a once in a lifetime trip, I couldn't recommend African Big Cats more. Safaris are expensive, so it's wise to pick an excellent company like this one.

Some friends and I booked a safari package with this agency that included visits to Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti and Lake Manyara National Parks. From the start we were pleased with the welcoming people who took care of us, including our guide Endeni and the manager Emmanuel. The vehicle we used was in perfect conditions and the hotels picked for our stay were amazing choices. Our highlight was the stay in Serengeti NP, where you could hear all animals in the night. The agency provided food for us during the safaris or game drives and had a great kit to do so. Overall, we had an amazing experience and got to see lots of animals and beautiful places. We went at the end of the rainy season and totally recommend it to go on your safari. We got to see the mass migration in Serengeti and the “big 5” during our visit. The guide was very capable detecting animals and birds, and surprisingly he spoke our native language (Spanish) really well. The trip with African Big Cats Safaris exceeded our expectations and we totally recommend you book with them!

We did research before making our final decision with Big Cats for our anniversary trip and was so happy with our choice. The commutations before the tour were smooth giving me no doubt about the itinerary or their service. Lordy, our guide was wonderful and professional and was taking very good care of us all the way. As there are countless company organizing safaris in Arusha, I hope this review would be of help to my fellow travelers trying to figure out which company trust to organize such adventure. In my case African Big Cats Safari was recommended by a colleague, also an avid fellow traveler whom I trust utterly. So for me after realizing how many companies are out there this choice was really a no brainer. This safari was also my honeymoon and for me and my wife this wasn’t our first experience in Africa. Our expectations for this trip was very great, as we have always been passionate in nature and traveling, especially in wild isolated places around Africa, Europe and America. As a plus I’ve read endless articles and watched countless documentaries about Tanzania since I was a little kid, so really the bar was very high. I’m therefore incredibly happy to tell you that our experience with African Big Cats Safari abundantly passed all our expectations. From our first interactions to figure out what we could do, for how long and for how much, to finalizing all details after booking, everything was smooth and dealt in a professional and detailed manner. We were given plenty of informations and asked about our interests and expectations in order to create the perfect tailor made experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. All the arrangements that were made, from the airport shuttle to the choice of accommodations and meals were absolutely flawless and well above our expectations. One particular praise I really feel should address our guide Moses. He was so passionate doing his job that we really felt he put magic into an otherwise already perfect and wonderful experience. We had a seriously wonderful time with him, sharing our passion for nature and photography. He was able to answer any question that we had about animals and nature with encyclopedic knowledge. He was also so experienced and talented that every time there was something worth to see we were there first, before all other cars. Lions having breakfast in the morning: we were there with premium views; Mama cheetah with her baby relaxing under a tree: he spot her from miles away; Leopard ambushing a fresh meal near the river: got it; Rhino eating at sunrise: spotted. Based on previous experiences we couldn’t even dream of all the beauty we found ourself in during this safari, but there we were living the dream! Probably there’s no need to add that we were able to see all the big five, but better highlight this.

I had one of the most amazing experiences of my life in Tanzania with African Big Cats Safaris. Their website is comprehensive and Justice and Naomi customized the perfect itinerary for me. This included a variety of different types of parks, as well as organizing all pickups/drop-offs from airports. The company also went above and beyond by helping me with a flight issue in-country. The hotel choices were wonderful, including an on-the-beach spot in Zanzibar and comfortable tent lodges while on safari. One in Tarangire had a watering hole with elephants right next to the lodge! The best experiences were the Serengeti balloon safari and my driver/guide, Khalid. He was unbelievably knowledgable about every animal, including knowing their Latin names and habits. It was amazing to get to experience the big 5, cheetahs, giraffes, birds, and many more in their natural environment. It was also very nice to meet the Managing Director, Emanuel; I thought that was a nice touch that showed the company valued my experience. I HIGHLY recommend African Big Cats Safaris and Khalid to everyone looking for the perfect safari adventure!

The experience was amazing. We took a 4 days Safari with African Big Cats Safari. We first did a full day at Tarangire National Park, then a full day at Ngorongoro Carter, a full day in the Serengeti and the last day at the Lake Manyara. We should have done an other day in Serengeti though. People from African Big Cat Safari were delightful from our first e-mail asking for an estimate. The day before our safari, Emmanuel took the time to explain the details of our safari and the must known to have the best experience possible. Special thanks also to our Guide (@Lodi) which took the necessary time we needed and could also speak French helping us understand better when English was complicated. Hotels or Lodges selected were perfect for us. People are nice and very welcoming. To finish, Emmanuel took also the time at the end of our Safari to have a feedback from our experience. It is a company that is growing strong taking the time to have all the comments in order to improve their offer. We spent 9 days in northern Tanzania with big cat safaris. The organisation was perfect. But the most important to make the trip extraordinary was our guide. Moses is a guide for more than 20 years and he still loves his job. He is fascinated by all animals and was able to explain us a lot of details about wildlife and Tanzanian lifestyle. He was polite and very understandingly with our kids (7/9y). His knowledge about birds (and mammals and plants etc.) was really impressive.

From communicating with the team before we arrived in Africa, all the way to the end of our safari trip, we received excellent customer service. The team responded quickly to emails and helped me plan our trip, as well made suggestions for accommodations before our safari trip. Venice was an incredible and knowledgeable guide. We stayed 2 days at Tarangire (boababs, birdwhatching and elephants: the most beautiful landscapes), 5 days at Serengeti (simply the most beautiful park of Africa, with sightings of all kinds of animals, especially dozens of felines, and viewing the savannas from a balloon), 1 day at Ngorongoro (black rhino: go there early in the morning 'cause it's not so crowded) and 1 day at Lake Manyara (monkeys, baboons and night safari) with African Big Cats Safaris and the legendary guide Karim. Wonderful places, unforgettable animal sightings, unique colors! The organization with African Big Cats was impeccable: we had the possibility to customize the itinerary based on our taste: we were very interested in spotting animals and a 9-day safari (plus 2 days of travel) allowed us to spend a lot of time with them (from about 06:30 to 18:00, each day), with no hurry, being able to appreciate every single moment and having the necessary time to learn from the guide and observe the behavior of each adn every animal. Karim was simply brilliant, indulged all our wishes, allowed us to see lots of animals (thanks to his experience and knowledge of nature) and taught us so many things (also about the life there in Tanzania). In addition, he allowed us to take the best photos possible, always positioning the jeep optimally. We are already planning another trip with African Big Cats next year. Highly recommended!

Big Cats Safari were just amazing. We booked directly with them and everything went 100%. Speed ​​in responding to our queries was very important. (family with 2 adult children) booked our trip locally with African Bug Cats. 4 days safari (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro, Serengeti) and then 3 days in Zanzibar. We were looked after very well and very professionally right from the start – we had many questions that were answered quickly and satisfactorily. The selection of lodges was very good – we regularly left something 12 and then got it back again and again. We were also very excited that everything went without delays or changes in plans. Starting from the pick-up at the airports, the reservations at the lodges, the flight to Arusha-Zanzibar, etc. It was as agreed in the offer of African Big Cats. Our guide Khalid brought us closer to his country in a wonderful way. He had a lot of knowledge about the country and its people, which he used to shorten the time between game drives. Thanks to him, we were able to observe countless animals – he was familiar with the parks as well as the habits of the animals, so that we often stood alone without other jeeps in the immediate vicinity of cheetahs, leopards and elephants. It was absolutely impressive and we were very grateful that we were able to experience it that way. One more word about Khalid: he was not only our omniscient guide, but also a safe driver on the sometimes very narrow gravel roads – even after more than 10 hours of driving. In the days on Zanzibar at Nungwi Dreams we were able to process our impressions and chill out – the hotel is great right on the beach, everyone is very friendly there, the food is good. Only the tour to the dolphins and snorkeling we could have saved, because there are simply too many boats/people there.

They were very communicative from the start, they accommodate the tour to our needs and preferences and everything on our budget. We spent 4 days with them and the service was great. We managed to see all kind of wildlife and stayed in really nice accommodation. Totally recommend this company to any willing to visit the area!

My dad and I decided to book a safari to Tanzania in February to celebrate our 80th and 40th birthdays. After reading so many reviews on a number of different companies we chose African Big Cats Safaris and are so glad that we did! We chose the 8-day, 7-night Comfort Ndutu Migration Safari. The communications with Justice and Naomi were timely and thorough. They were so kind in answering all of our questions and the booking process was very easy. Although we didn’t customize the itinerary, they offered that we could change any of the accommodations, if desired. Even the company founder, Emanuel, briefed us the day we landed and met with us the day we left which we really appreciated. The accommodations were a mixture of beautiful lodges and tented camps and we enjoyed the experiences at all of them. The meals were bountiful and delicious and the staff working at each location were gracious and interested in meeting our every need. They ensured our safety out in the bush by providing Maasai warrior escorts to and from our tent when dark (we could hear animals at night so this was comforting)! The highlight of the trip was discovering the beauty of Tanzania’s wildlife, landscapes, and people with our exceptional guide, Lordlugard (Lordi). I recall seeing numerous glowing reviews about him pre-trip and we felt blessed to have him as well. He blew us away with his knowledge of the animals and their behaviors, the plants, the ecosystem, the history of the country, the life of the Maasai peoples and other tribes, and the list goes on. Not only was he so thorough in his explanations (we learned SO much!), but he was so kind, upbeat, and personable. You could tell he was passionate about his work and wanted to ensure that we got the most out of the trip. When approaching the animals in the vehicle he was careful to maneuver as close as possible, while remaining safe, but also was very cognizant of the sun and best camera angles. We saw the big 5 numerous times (counted 50+ lions in all) and so many other species, and are reminiscing about our trip as we flip through our many amazing pics. I loved, loved, loved this safari! Absolutely incredible, surpassing all expectations. From finding ourselves in the middle of a group of over 30 Elephants, lions prowling around our jeep, watching cheetahs feasting on some poor gazelle, to being surrounded by 1000s of zebra and wildebeests - and the list goes on; a stream of baboons crossing the road in front of our car, giraffes everywhere, ostriches, warthogs, 2 python, several rhinos, hippos, Impala, water buffalo, etc. Our guide was amazing, Ernest was personable, friendly, always on the lookout to get us amazing views of the animals, and knowledgeable about everything we saw. The food and lodgings were great and the views spectacular (the lookout at Ngorongoro Crater was especially stunning). African Big Cats went out of their way from the moment I contacted them, right up to dropping us off at the airport on our departure; they were helpful, communicative, patient, and eager for feedback on suggestions for how to improve. Our experience in Tanzania during January 2023 with African Big Cats was really amazing. The guide (Endeni) that travelled with us during the trip made our experience even better. He spoke perfect Spanish which for was very important for us in order to understand everything. We were able to see all types of animals (including the Big Five). They are the best Safari tour operator in Tanzania!! Here are the reasons why: Organization: Thanks to Justice and Emmanuel you are able to organize your trip from anywhere in the world. Communication is smooth, as they will be in touch via email or whatsapp to make sure everything is perfectly organized before, during and after your Safari. Guides: They have the most experienced guides. Our was Endeni, a super friendly guy that accompanied us during the whole tour. He is knowledgeable, punctual, and communicative. At the end after spending 4 days with him, Endeni became almost like family. He can speak perfect english, italian and spanish. Cars: They have top quality 4x4 Toyota Land Cruisers with beverages, charging stations and everything you need to be comfortable during the game drives. Accommodations: The accommodations were comfortable, with natural scenery, friendly staff, and very good food. Overall, make sure to book your Safari with African Big Cats and ask for Endeni as your guide - believe me you won’t regret it :)

We stumbled upon African Big Cats Safaris and it was the best decision ever. They worked with our budget and provided excellent service. Justice was very responsive and patient. We had a 7 month baby with us and our guide/driver, Lourdes, was so wonderful with her and accommodated our needs. I have passed their contact info to all my friends looking to go on safari. We choose African Big Cats Safaris because they offered a complete flexible program (7 days) in the recommended area to visit for the period of my vacation (January). And we were right with this choice. Because it was difficult to book the flights in short term, they were very flexible with the program, and they recommended and arranged for me some good modifications to comply with my requirements. The safari experience was unique. We visited Lake Manyara, Central Serengeti, Tarangire Park, Ndutu area in Serengeti and Ngorongoro Park. They were parks with dream trails, and we had a lot of time to enjoy what we have seen. Our guide, Lovoi (a person very in love with the savanna), gave us a lot of explanations during the safari regarding the animals and now we have a much better understanding of the ecosystem in the national parks of Tanzania. He showed us a lot of animals (from small marmots until the big animals). Without him, we wouldn’t have been able to find all the animals in the savanna or in the bushes. We saw a lot of from the big five (as promised) and, also, a big number of other animals (tens of thousands of antelopes, zebras, giraffes, flamingos…). Because it was the calving period, we also saw a lot of babies, even some no older than one day walking with the adults in endless rows of animals. We made a lot of photos and videos every day because during the games we saw always something new. The accommodation and food were above my expectations, and everything was perfect organized. Also, the persons in the lodges and camps were willingly to help us. I can say that this was one of my best vacations in my life. Thank you Lovoi. Thank you ABCS.

From the beginning the communications with them, in my case Justice Justine, was easy and I found answers to my questions in a very short time, even I could send my doubts through Whatsapp. Everything flows properly and we made the payment in the way requested, they confirmed the reception of the money as soon as they receive it. The safari ran as it was programmed and it exceeded our expectations 😊, Our main purpose was achieved, we saw lots of animals, including the big five. We took hundreds of expectacular photos, Our guide, Endeni, was incredible, a great professional and good driver, he saw animals in the distance and he told us where we have to look with the binoculars to find them. He shared with us lots of information of the parks and places we visit. He speaks a very good Spanish and was very funny, we quickly established very good relationship with him. The accommodations, we choose Mid-range/Confor safari, were fantastic, I have to make a special mention to the Acacia Central Park, being tents, they were decorated so cutely. It was amazing finding this standard of services in the middle of the Serengeti. Only one we did not fun, and we already communicate it to African Big Cats Safari and they will explore other possibilities. In summary, it was a great experience and we do recommend AFRICAN BIG CATS SAFARIS to our friends. This is the best opinion one can say of a Safari company.

We travelled from Thailand to Tanzania for a 3-day safari with African Big Cats. From start to finish the team (Justice, Emmanuel and our amazing guide Valence) were attentive, professional, informative and made us feel very taken care of. We visited Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara national parks and saw unbelieveable sights we'll never forget (including the "African Big 5"!). The team even assisted in booking our flights to Zanzibar. They stuck with us right up to the departure gate (where our guide negotiated with the local baggage handlers for a cheaper overweight charge =) Highly recommended! We'll do 5 days, next time...
