My boyfriend and I planned this trip to Africa in 3 months without a traveling agent, one thing we knew for sure was that we wanted to do a Safari. So, when the time came to do research on which one we would select, I'm not gonna lie it was a bit stressful because we did not know much about Safari tours. The 1st one to come up in Expedia and TripAdvisor was Suricata Safaris, and the name was quite catchy to me. I quickly read about it and also the reviews and was VERY happy, but my boyfriend suggested that we kept looking... Just in case... The day came to select one company, we researched and read reviews for 5 different ones, then 3, then 2, You know which one we chose. We communicated with the marketing person via WhatsApp Halima was VERY fast at answering all the questions we had, and accommodating our requests, making us feel secure about this whole thing. Things we were looking for: Secured transportation to and from the airport. A group tour- (Because we thought that private was just gonna be boring and we love meeting new people, which ended up being the most gratifying thing because our group was full of beautiful, sweet, amazing people from all over (which is a plus because you learn of other cultures, places and even make plans to visit them)). A secure place to sleep Included food and water An English speaker knowledgeable tour guide (Rocky was our and we LOVE HIM). We chose Suricata Safaris because we felt it has all of the things we were looking for. Everything was GREAT, from the driver picking us up at the airport when we arrived taking us safely to our hotel to the dropped off on time so we could catch our flight back to BEAUTIFUL ZANZIBAR. The tour itself was pretty AMAZING! We stayed at super comfortable lodges, met incredible people, and had DELICIOUS food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) most of them provided to you. The food provided to you is cooked by a Chef and is very well prepared for the tour. At the time of lunch, the food will still be warm and also tea and coffee will be provided to you. You can choose between camping tents or tented lodges. We went with the lodge because we wanted to sleep comfortably knowing that days were going to be long and tiring. Our Favorite was the Suricata Boma Lodge, EVERYTHING about this place is perfection. I will leave another review just for this place. Our driver for the 5 days was Rocky, I can not say enough about him! Super fun, cool, patient, and very knowledgeable about animal species, age, and relationships. He took his time to let us take pictures patiently and took extra time to find animals like leopards who are hard to find, but at the same time, he kept track of time. He entertained us with his kind and fun personality and made sure that we were all doing well. EVERYTHING was time to perfection every single day! We arrived at our destinations for the night on time to shower and enjoy a nice dinner and wine (the tented lodges have bars equipped with good liquor, wine, and beers). To conclude, it was the BEST experience of my life!!! I took so much from Africa, from this tour and the Majestic Animals that I was able to see! I couldn't contain myself a couple of times and I let it out! It was all happy tears; you feel so connected with nature, the animals, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and the people. A really nice day trip full of authentic Tanzanian culture, beautiful scenery and learning how to make Aribica coffee from scratch. Great food, fun hot springs and as always really friendly locals who are happy to answer all your questions. Well organised and our tour guide Mr. T was like travelling with a mate (awesome photographer too!)

We had a great time on our 5 day camping safari with Suricata. The communication from start to end was excellent. Hillary, the owner of the company arranged Airport pickup, hotel stay in Arusha and the safari. 

Our safari guide Ezekiel and chef Salim were the best duo you can ask for on a safari trip. Ezekiel worked hard to get us close to the animals and explained so much more about the animals and their behaviour. After a long game drive, safari chef Salim always prepared the best meals - much more than you would ever expect. We will definitely be back!

Our 4 days safari was one of the best experience of my life thanks to Suricata. National Parks are amazing ! Frederic is full of knowledges and he likes to share with us. Every place we spent the night at was unique and beautiful. The food was delicious! We did the 5 day with a group. It was fun meeting new friends from around the world. There were 6 of us total. The staff at Suricata Safaris were not only highly professional but also incredibly kind and attentive. I will admit, I was a bit doubtful about hiking Kilimanjaro with Suricata since it seems like they specialize in safaris and when you do something like this you want knowledgeable and experienced guides. DONT let that deter you. Fredi, Omary, and Augusti were amazing guides with over a DECADE of experience and 100s of summits. (For reference we did the 7 day lemosho route) First off, the logistics and communication was amazing. Hilary (the company owner) responded to all our questions and concerns and was super patient with us. Setting up our pickup/drop off, hotel stay and everything was taken care of and included. The guides always focused with our goal of not only making it up the mountain, but making it up safely. They checked in on us multiple times a day to make sure we were feeling well and even if we weren’t they did everything in their power to make sure we were while still pushing us to reach our goal. They honestly felt like family by the time we got down the mountain. They were all super knowledgeable and complimented each other very well. All of them were also super transparent to us and made sure we were transparent to them to make sure we had the best chances of summiting. The porters did an insane job. For a group of 7 we had 21 porters that moved our duffels, tents, dining tents, bathroom, etc from campsite to campsite every day. They took great care of us as well while at the campsite, looking after us, and tending to our needs. I can’t stress how much of a difference the porters make for the experience. I always felt safe with them and they were amazing to meet and talk to as well throughout the 7 day exeperience. The cooks were also great. While maybe not the most glamorous food, the food was delicious every day, every meal, and the chefs did an amazing job handling all of our groups dietary restrictions. Finally, I really can’t describe how special and amazing Suricata made this journey for us. Many of us were doubtful at various points if we would make it to the summit due to altitude, stomach issues and just feeling unwell, but the whole crew really gave it their all and made sure we made it up and down the mountain safely! It never felt like it was their job to get us to the top of this mountain. It was like they wanted us at the top from the bottom of their heart.

We had the BEST time in Tanzania with Suricata! We went as 6 friends and filled up the safari truck. We got to go to 1) Tarangire National Park 2) Lake Manyara 3) Ngorongoro Area/Serengeti 4) Serengeti and 5) Ngorongoro Crater. Each day felt like the best day yet. The tour was timed so well - we always felt like we’d seen a lot and were tired by the end of the day. Mandela was a FANTASTIC guide for the trip. He was kind, gave clear instructions, and helped me handle my food allergies in an unfamiliar place. Mandela was so informative, sharing loads of facts about the areas and the animals. We saw so many animals too! The list included Lions (in trees, eating kills, mating, and roaring), Zebras, Leopard, Buffalo, Cheetah, Rhinos, Baboons, Hippos, Wildebeest, Impalas, Giraffes, etc etc. The tented lodges we stayed in were lovely! On a cold night, staff even put hot water bottles in our beds while we were at dinner as a nice surprise. I had an amazing time and would recommend Suricata to anyone!

Had an incredible experience with two trips from this agency! The day trip included a scenic waterfall, educational coffee tour, traditional lunch with delicious banana soup, and relaxing hotsprings. Our guide, Twalbu (Mr. T), was awesome—super informative and a fantastic photographer. We also took a 4-day safari and stayed in luxurious accommodations (1 night in a hotel and 2 in tented lodges). Saw lots of amazing wildlife! Our safari guide, Freddy, did his best to make the trip enjoyable. Communication with the agency was quick and smooth. The only hiccup was Daniel, the salesperson. He was a bit pushy and gave us incorrect info. However, Mr. T corrected the mistake and saved the day. Overall, great experience, but double-check info if you're dealing with Daniel.

Beyond expectations! Communication, friendliness, and overall extremely satisfied with our trip from beginning to end. We did a 5 day safari Tarangire, Serengeti, and the crater. Was able to see all big 5 among all the others. Our guide Louis and cook Musa were outstanding. Kept up to date on the schedule and really catered to making sure we felt welcomed at all times. Tenting in the Serengeti is a must! Lions roaring, elephants trumpeting, Hyenas laughing. No sleep for two nights getting woken up, but I’d do it again 100%. When I return in the future, there is not doubt I will be choosing Suricata again. Thank you for the fantastic trip.

Have book a four days camping safari and it was an amazing experience. The organisation from picking you up to the airport the day before to the hostels choice were perfect. The guides are real professionnals that are able to respond to your numerous questions about animals but also personnal experience. The food was absolutely delicious, always fresh from the day with huge quantity and various option for specific regime. Our super guides were Frederique and Rocky and our chef was Pius ! The experience was so great that we decided to book an additionnal day to go to Moshi to see the waterfall, the coffee making then the relaxing in the hot springs with our guide Twalbu that was as awsome that those of the safari. I can only advise you to book with them with your eyes closed and to follow rythm ! Asante sana !

We had a great one day Trip to the materuni waterfall with our guide Mr. T who was very friendly and it was really a really pleasure for us to spent one day with him. The hike to the waterfall and the beautiful waterfall itself is amazing. Its about one hour walk through the rainforest and If you are brave enough you can also go for a swim. The Coffee Part after the waterfall is also very nice and the Coffee tastes deliciois. At least we drove to the hotsprings which have been a big surprise for us, you really feel Like you are in paradise. All in all it was a great day and we can really recommend to do this trip with Suricata.

Amazing experience, we saw tons of animals on the Safari. The company is very reliable, the guide is very knowledgeable and the chef also cooked very good dishes. They were super welcoming and efficient in organizing the various trips. TOP!

We had an amazing experience on our 4 day safari! Our guide Fred was excellent and super knowledgeable. The food cooked by Tito was also delicious. We saw tons of animals and enjoyed every minute of it. Hoping we can go again someday!

I did a 5 day group safari with Suricata and with my partner and the experience was amazing. We had one of the best trips of our lifes thanks of course to the guys: our great driver Mandela and the best cook Pius. These guys took really good care of us, listening to our requests and making sure everything was good. Mandela was a careful driver with great experience who is really passionate about wildlife, you can really tell, he was giving very good explanations and spotting all the animals, we were impressed because he has really good sight. Pius was an amazing cook, he was baking fresh bread, pizza, he was cooking delicious grilled potatoes, all sort of local dishes. The whole group was so impressed and super happy with the experience. Not only because we saw incredible animals but because we got to share the experience also with our local guide and cook and exchanged a lot with them. We are going to miss them! Also we were camping and the tents and sleeping bags and sheets were very clean. Camping sites and the tents are perfect if you want to really live the into the wild experience with amazing animals such as buffalos and hienas hanging out around at night (harmless when you are inside the tent and dont disturb them). We will come back for sure and always Suricata! Thanks for treating us so well!

The safari was great! Having a hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner cooked fresh for your party everyday was very nice. The cot for sleeping was thicker and more comfortable than the bedding at other safari companies, I hear. The founder treats his employees well. The tour guide has a college degree in Wildlife and knows the answer to any question about African animals you could possibly want to know. I saw exactly one rhino, and dozens of each of the other Big 5 animals.

This has been one of the most memorable experiences. Hilary patiently communicated their budget, midrange and luxurious programs prior to my arrival. I went for the luxurious option, which made the experience five out of five stars. Our guide Lewis was experienced and calm. He was really good at spotting animals. Thanks to him, we saw baby lions on a tree, two cheetahs, many lions and a leopard! I was so lucky to choose the luxurious lodges. Kubukubu, the tented lodge I stayed in Serengeti, was like a dream. At night I heard lions roaring outside my tent! The only regret is that I didn’t stay there for an additional night! Marera hotel near Tarangire was also beyond my expectations. The room was very nice and spacious. I enjoyed the garden and pool. Thank you Suricata for the wonderful holiday! I will definitely book with you again when I am ready to climb Kilimanjaro!

Suricata Safaris gave my girlfriend and I an incredible experience that we will never forget. We did a 4 day safari in Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire where we saw all Big 5, and more than we dared hope for. Our guide, Silas, was as kind as one can be, and the lodges and hotel we stayed at were more than amazing, especially the Suricata Boma Lodge which was extraordinary! Pure recommendation.

Feb 2023 • Couples I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an unbelievable safari trip with Suricata (5 days Adventure camping safari, and I can honestly say it was one the most amazing experiences I have ever done. Everything was well organized and the Suricata Team was just amazing. Tizia helped us organize everything and answered all of our questions before we arrived in Arusha, Ally managed everything from the moment we touched down in Arusha, Tito cooked delicious meals during the safari and Rocky was THE BEST guide! From the moment we set foot in the park, we were surrounded by the beauty of the wildlife and the breathtaking scenery. Our guide Rocky was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the country, plants, and wildlife that we were seeing, and he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm with us throughout the trip. He took very good care for us and we felt safe for the whole trip. He was very concise about the environment. Tito, our chef provided us with amazing food. I had an absolutely amazing experience with Suricata Safaris and I can just highly recommend everyone to book their safari with Suricata! I really had an incredible time! Our guide James was super knowledgeable and told us so much about all the different animals, the nature and in general the Tanzanian culture, which was absolutely great! He was also super funny and always in a really good mood which made the car rides really enjoyable and we had a lot of fun. He also knew exactly where to find the animals up close and knew all the different spots where not many other safari cars would go to. Also, our chef Salim was absolutely great! The food was super delicious and really everything tasted so good! He prepared many vegetarian alternatives for me as well, which was really nice! All in all, I had an unforgettable experience! Everything was super well organized from the start to the end and our guide James and chef Salim were absolutely amazing! So, I can can 10/10 recommend Suricata Safaris!

Best value for money and safest safari experience! The organization of this safari was remarkable. Each day was very different, both in terms of the breathtaking landscapes and the encounter with the rarest animals. We managed to see all big 5 in no time thanks the the expertise of our amazing guide Ezekiel! We were accompanied in this adventure by a superb team. Ezekiel our guide had a wide knowledge of animal behavior but also of the flora and culture of his country (history, Masai culture, geography of the landscapes, etc.). A real joy to discuss with him during the journeys between the different national parks we visited! Tito our 5 stars chef, varied the dishes, each more delicious than the other, all in a good mood and with high quality ingredients! Hilary the manager welcomed us warmly and was very attentive to our wishes! We chose the camping option with camp bed in view of our more limited budget and also to enjoy the stars and the sounds of wild animals. Thanks to the well-padded duvets, the nights were pleasant. A unique experience that I recommend to everyone with this company.

Our 5 days safari with Suricata Safari was amazing. We saw a lot of animals and very close, always in the safest condition for us and for them. Our driver/guide Vincent was looking for the best spot to see the animals and to gift us the best Safari experience. He is a very expert and skilled driver, with a lot of experience, so he knows very well the parks and the animal's behaviours. The jeeps are perfect for the experience (big windows and open roof) and you can forget to worry about your phone/camera battery, because there are a lot of plugs to charge. The camping was an amazing experience as well: we were surrounded by animals like mongooses, zebras, birds etc. that cross the camping at early morning or at evening. The food was incredible and very tasty: thanks to Mussa to take care of our stomachs. The staff also was very kind with us and I can say that this trip was one of the best experience in my life. We had the absolute best time on our safari. Airport pickup and drop off were smooth, our guide, Fredrick, was absolutely amazing, incredibly knowledgeable and so fun. He answered every single question we had and managed to find every animal we wanted to see (lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, etc). Our chef, Chaz, was THE BEST. Every meal was amazing. Camping was warm and comfortable and we had zebras hanging around our tent all night in Ngorogoro. I honestly can’t think of anyway our trip could have been better. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a fun, safe, exciting safari trip. We are already talking about how soon we can come back and do it again.

The best possible experience we could have. Mr Hilary arranged everything for us and he was also very flexible when we wanted to change something in our plan.
