    - Check in process was easy however we had issues with the room keys which was replaced twice. Even after thebkey was replaced for the second time the key didn't open the room. - One of the lifts was on maintenance which made the waiting time to go up or down a bit annoyed. - Breakfast was good, a lot of variety and good flavours, juices, eggs, bread, arepa, fruits and so on... it is buffet type. - Nice pool on the rooftop. - Overpriced minibar on the rooms (nothing out of ordinary on this kind of hotels). - Spacious rooms and toilets whit everything needed to either work or enjoy some time off.

Valeria in the mornings whenever I saw her during breakfast always had a smile on her face when she offered me coffee and greeted me. I appreciate her positive attitude especially in the beginning of my days there. I would come stay there again just because she was so kind and most of the staff was as well like their security team.

If I could give zero stars I would…. Customer service is not existent for these scammers. They raised the price upon arrival with no explanation. No help with bags, never answers phones, and would end breakfast early because of lazy staff. I could keep going on and on. It was my first carnival and probably my last based off this hotels experience. They must be paying people to write these reviews because it was nowhere near 2 stars…. They will avoid helping you when problems arise. The owner is blind to the poor business she runs and just sit by the pool doing nothing productive. IF YOU’RE A TOURIST, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS HOTEL CHAIN!!!!! Thanks for nothing.

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Hotel chain states that customer service is the most important thing—it is not. This lack of service was made evident at the start with Sergio at the front desk, who was not only sassy, but absolutely useless from a customer service standpoint. When plans changed and we needed to check out earlier, he proceeded to be unhelpful and tell me he could only honor the reservation for its entire duration. After discussing how often I had stayed at the GHL branded hotels and how modifying the reservation had never been an issue in the past, he went behind a closed door and came back offering a “great” solution: modifying my reservation to cut it from 9 days to 3 days for a higher price (and had modified it already without discussing any pricing with me. I kid you not when I say I spent 1 hour checking in trying to find a solution for both parties. Ultimately, Sergio told me the price wasn’t going to change and I would have to take it or leave it. The bed was incredibly springy and hard. Not comfortable. Room was standard. Not luxurious as website makes it out to be. One day for breakfast, I checked on their app which stated that breakfast ended at 10:30 am, and confirmed with an employee in the hallway at 10:05 am that breakfast went until 10:30 am, and then the lady at the breakfast location gave me a sassy attitude telling me that breakfast was over at 10 am and I could grab from what was left, but for my information it was over at 10 am. I tried to call the front desk using the phone in room to no avail over 5 times. When checking out, I called using the phone to have a bellboy come help with the bags, and no answer. I went to find help from the cleaning staff, who stated they had called down for me. No one came. I ended up going downstairs and asking Rafael at the front desk, who stated he would send someone immediately, but did not. I had to ask again five minutes after talking with him about my issues and he finally sent someone. During check out, I expressed the lack of service and the horrible experience to Rafael, who stated he recognized me from previous stays at the other hotel around the corner, GHL Collection. He stated he would try to help, went behind closed door and “spoke to someone” who told him that since Sergio and I had come to an agreement, there was nothing that could be done. When I asked to speak to the manager, he stated he would call him over and I waited over 15-20 minutes to no avail (when he was around the corner at the other hotel, literally across the street). When I asked for the general manager’s name, Rafael would not give it to me, stating he could not make that information public. As if it wasn’t the general manager’s job to address issues? He would only offer me the reservations manager’s name. I cannot express enough my disgust at the lack of service and care from these team members and their inability to help in any way. Absolutely ridiculous. It appears they may be faking other reviews considering the comments if you really take the time to read them. Coming from customer service background my whole life and being a manager myself, it is extremely hard to write negative reviews. However, I am taking the time to do so because I cannot at all recommend staying here. In fact, you should stay away from this hotel at all costs. It turns out the hotel manager was at the pool the one day I was up there and I didn’t want to ruin her day letting her know the experience I had had, hoping someone on the team would be able to resolve. I should have just approached her in that moment. I’m ashamed to say this kind of hosting can occur in the city in which I was born. Do not stay here. P.S. Room also smelled heavily of mold at all times. They don’t let you leave the AC on, as you have to remove the card to the room which turns on all power. They only give you one key, as well. If you look at the “management responses,” you will see it’s a joke. They will talk about improving for years, but never seem to…

I stayed here a few years ago and purposely sought to come back. The people that work here are so professional and welcoming. The view is refreshing and the food is delicious.

Worst experience I've had in years. I stayed 4 nights. 1 day they didn't clean the room. 3 days they didn't clean laundry, and I even asked the lobby to make sure it was cleaned. We extended the stay from 2 nights to 4, the night lobby person said yes no problem, in the morning they said the hotel was full and we would be kicked out of our rooms. Luckily someone cancelled that day and then they added 50% to the rate for the next two nights. Terrible experience.

My husband has stayed at the same chain hotel in Bogota and had a pleasant experience. Bringing me to Barranquilla for the first time he chose this hotel thinking it would be the same and boy was he wrong. The AC was horrible we had to close the bathroom Door in order for the room to get cold because it was really hot. I had to call for towels because we only had 2 towels in the room when we checked in and our room was not ready upon arrival. The room smelled like mold and it’s run down and I couldn’t believe I had sheets with 2 holes on them. We had no hot water for 2 days, I was put next to a closet or janitors closet or something like it because every time someone would go get something the slamming of the door was annoying and could be heard loudly. The 6 floor was soooo hot when you would step out in the hallway. The elevators were not working. The cushions on the breakfast booths were filthy dirty. The breakfast was good and my housekeeper was very sweet and made sure I had the towels I needed when I advised we were a party of three. Not the best experience at all and I’m glad we booked it via ORBITZ. We got what we paid for, if I ever visit again I will never stay here again. I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 20+ years in the United States started with Hilton for over 15 years and have been with Carnival Cruise for 13 and definitely I’m aware of standards. Huge disappointment.

If I could give less I would. I was made to feel like a major inconvenience, there are visiting hours like in a prison or hospital. No microwaves in the rooms. My room this time smelled of mold, bathroom door was so swollen that it wouldn't close. Most of the administration and staff were merely cordial because they had to be with a huge undertone of BAD VIBES from the staff ugly staring... I do not encourage foreigners to stay at this location in Barranquilla.

Pros: Rooms are spacious, rooftop pool is cute, hotel looks modern. Drinks and food are decent. Cons: 1st day we arrived a few hours before their allowed 3pm check in time. We understood early check in wasnt available but we decided to start our day anyway and check in later. I requested to borrow a clothes iron (which would've been available in my room a few hours later at 3pm check in time) since what I needed to change into was wrinkled from being in my suitcase and they said I could only pay for laundry service to have someone else iron my 1 piece of clothing but I couldn't simply borrow an iron. Small request but big problem somehow. When we check in we notice that towels and toilet paper are missing from our room so we see an employee in the hallway with towels in his hands and let him know but instead of grabbing these few items for us he asks us to call the front desk which took forever to answer and at least 2 hours to get us what we were missing. The next night we were at the restaurant, sat and waited over 20 min but noone asked if we needed anything. We then sat directly at the bar hoping to get someone's attention and still nothing. Finally we went out of our way and stopped a waiter, asked for drinks only for him to come back 5 minutes later and say he wasn't able to serve us because the bar just closed. We were clearly there well before closing and would've gotten our drinks in if someone would've asked for our order as they should. The next morning we head to the free breakfast buffet and I grab a plate with 2 eggs and some fruits to consume in my room because I had some work to finish. As I'm walking out I'm told I can't take food to my room unless I pay. At this point I'm very irritated with the treatment ive been receiving and just left my plate behind. AC in rooms arent consistent, room would suddenly be cold and then get hot throughout the day/night. Also comforter/sheets were stained No AC in any of the main areas. If it's on it definetely doesn't feel like it and Barranquilla is very hot You're never greeted even as you walk in/out of the hotel making you feel unwelcome your entire stay. They don't know anything about hospitality and unnecesarrily find any way to inconvenience their customers. Wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're ok being treated this way at an establishment you're paying to stay at and spend at their bar/restaurant daily.

My wife and her sister have been staying at this hotel for a week. The customer service that they have been experiencing has been non existent. Surrgarges and overcharges have been added to their stay for no reason. Getting charged for extra pillows and towels along with any other possible thing u can think of. Management has been no help or even trying to be acomodating. The stay has been booked for 2 weeks in advance now that they no longer want to stay they are not honoring the refund for the remaining of the booking. -5 stars

Best option. Price vs quality. Overall was good... A little dark for my liking; Maybe to cover building imperfections? Finally I didn't like coco beach restaurant (roof top) overpriced and small portions.

the facilities are good but we have an issue by the time of the check out, after 10 mins we left the room (closed door) for the checkout we came back because we forgot our iphone charger, they said it wasn't there. Not the only customers they have the same situation with, two ladies from Peru lost their wallets at the pool and also other couple lost their belonging and did not receive a valid answer from the staff

Great customer service at GHL Hotel Barranquilla, not the collection one. Spacious rooms. Great bellman that help with cabs and greet you at the door.. Fabio was amazing in the restaurant, very attentive and very friendly. Sergio was a good front desk reception representative. They lost a five star review because at check out, they made me pay extra money on top of my regular reservation and no one could explain why. Also my room wasn't cleaned one of the days and the housekeeping was very rude.

It's a good hotel overall. Except for the manager which avoid customers, and one of the ladies in the lobby which is lazy. Besides that the rest is pretty good. Great breakfast, great view in the rooftop. Don't touch the snacks and drinks in the minibar, are extremely overpriced. Good workers and staff.

Made a booking here over a month ago. Today, 2 nights before we were supposed to arrive they cancelled our booking saying they have no rooms. For whatever reason, we paid about twice the rate they are currently advertising on booking.com, I don’t see why they would cancel our reservation and still claim rooms are available on booking websites, advertising a much lower price. Very frustrating.

MOLD/MILDEW & FILTHY SPACES Walking in to lobby you are overpowered with mold/mildew smell. Walked in to lobby bathrooms wanting to vomit due to overuse of air freshener. Floors were dirty. Elevator was dirty. Hallways were dirty with stained carpet and mold smell. We entered our room to be knocked over by mold/mildew smell. Room was not properly cleaned, stains on comforter, hole in wall, bathroom was disgusting, chairs were filthy. Everything about the hotel is just not right…mostly the mold/mildew smell. We requested a refund by which the front desk attendants stated we would be. We filled out the paperwork they gave us. It’s now been 3 weeks and multiple attempts to get in touch with someone via phone and email. We are currently being ignored. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Honestly a horrible experience for three days and I wish I picked a different hotel. First, the wifi is garbage. In my first room it was impossible to connect with my phone or my other devices. They moved me to a different room but it had many problems. There wasn’t a remote for the tv, the room was dirty in places, the TV was positioned facing the floor, and my keys kept deactivating. I probably wasted 4 hours moving rooms, speaking to management, and waiting for new keys. The manager gave me an 80.000 credit to use at the restaurant but every time I went to buy something I had to argue with the staff because they knew nothing about it. So that wasted even more time. The one exercise machine they have is broken with parts laying around on the ground. They have nice dumbbells but no bench to use them with. Also, the gym is not air conditioned (most of the building is not air conditioned either). The automatic light in the bathroom next to the gym turns off in about 3 minutes. So you can expect to be in the dark if you use that bathroom. Their mask policy is a joke. You don’t need to use masks anywhere in the building except when you are getting your food from the buffet where they will hassle you. You can be maskless in the main areas, elevators, the bar, the restaurant, walking into the breakfast area, eating in the breakfast area, and everywhere else. But you absolutely have to wear a mask at the buffet six feet from the tables where’s it’s not required. The management goes against the WHO and every scientific study to enforce this unscientific requirement. Absolutely terrible experience and I would not recommend this hotel at all.
