Beautiful park with so cute sitting areas and benches. Near some local shops and street merchants. Beautiful architecture surrounding it.

This lovely town square was filled with with many people simply relaxing and enjoying the day. What really impressed me more than the people was the joyous sound of all the birds singing that filled the air. I loved the whole experience and wish I could have sat in the park all day just watching and listening.

Beautiful city, love the colors, we came here as part of a group tour and wished we had more than 20 minutes to really explore. The little I saw of the area was great and the little history I learned about it. I'll have to go again on my own to explore

Great central park. So many birds at night. Beautiful greenery and view of the church. Police requesting use of masks. Very safe/clean

The cathedral across the street is gorgeous, the walk along the park has delightful artisans and their work is amazing! The snacks are delicious- the marquesita are a crispy filled crepe and a raspado- watch for the falling seeds from the giant trees- they'll knock yo block off!

We had a good time, churos are very good and freshly made. Brace yourself because there is a lot of beggars but nonetheless, our experience was good. There was a lot of policemen and felt secure.

This plaza has a lot of history. Tons of vendors and stores to shop from. We wanted to visit the church but unfortunately it was closed. The lover chairs were a neat little feature of the plaza as well. This was part of our overall tour of the area.

Great place to hang around and relax. We saw locals putting on a show and tried the surrounding vendor food. Excellent churros and ice cream. A few very nice restaurants and bars right within the square area.

Nice Plaza de Armas type of park. Spanish style with fitting cathedral. Many vendors selling drinks and snacks. There's a fountain with plenty of park bench seating and even love seats, which are a nice touch. There were performers there performing a traditional Mayian dance with jaguar body paint and all!

A really pleasant park in a lively Spanish settlement town. There are several food and souvenir vendors nearby and it is a nice place to get gifts or just enjoy the hustle and bustle.

This was an on-route bus stop, between Chitzen Itza pyramids and our hotel in Cancun. Lots of shops, and if you're into souvenirs, this is a good place to start. Same items we see at major attractions and hotels, we see them here too, at lower prices. Vendors try to hustle you into their stores, and there are peddlers in the street selling you snacks for your journey. Traffic in the mail square is busy, as our parked tour bus was told to move several times.

Nice area in the middle of the town with local vendors, a fountain & benches to sit. Lots of gift shops with tequila tasting & there is a cafeteria with food stalls. Sunday: lots of the stalls & stores are closed.

Stopped on our way to Chichen Itza. Small park - has some benches and chairs. Only thing to see is the fountain. Nice place to sit if you’ve grabbed a coffee nearby.

We stopped here during our tour of chichenitza and cenotes. Lunch buffet was amazing!! Tacos were delicious, and the live dancers were great, and this local stray pup was so sweet! If you see her giver a belly rub for me! 😊

Your typical town square with the spaniard flare. Very busy and didn't have much time to explore but very cute

Fantastic example of a traditional (historical) village square. A must see - just beautiful in its original character and functionality. Best churros and crepes in Mexico!

Tasteful Christmas displays with the church towers lit behind it. Was fortunate to experience an Opera performance outside the Public Library of Campeche

Loved the whole town, the colourful houses, colonnial architecture. Reminds us of Cuba and the style used over there.

This is the main square of Valladolid and it's really good to visit during the early evening when local dancers perform and the edges of the square are lined with various stalls selling jewellery, food and clothes.

A very beautiful park, very calming, and lots of little shops set up for you to visit. Best around sunset, it's super close to the oldest church in Valladolid, where it looks unearthly!

Nice city center, beautiful church. Immediately in the downtown area, you can see how local residents live, there is a bit of poverty. But the city is very pleasant and worth visiting!

Such a cute park! The church across the street, contains stones that were used in the Mayan Temple that used to be in the area! The food smells so good. There are local people singing and dancing traditional songs! It’s a lively atmosphere

This is the coolest little park/square, (depending on your terminology). Lots of places to sit, plenty of shade & great vendors (without being overwhelmed by vendors). The corn ice cream is absolutely delicious & the thin waffles they wrap around anything from fruit to ham & cheese are addictive 🥰). It's the main square of Valladolid so there's everything you want close by, food, drink, taxi, bank, fantastic people & every evening live music, dancing & fireworks. There's the morning ceremony of the raising of the Mexican flag which is breathtaking & chilling, it's overflowing with tradition, pride & history.

Cute town square next to a cathedral. A lot of tour groups stop here (as did ours). A surprisingly heavy police presence around the square. Three cop cars with three armed officers standing on the back of the car. You can't help but wonder why that level of protection is necessary. Cathedral is neat!

Beautiful place to meet with your family or friends. This park is basically a square in front of the Cathedral in Valliadolid. Very charming and full of character. We tried churros there and according to my husband, those were the best churros he has ever tried!

Parque Principal F israncisco Cantón Rosado has been a nice central square inside a beautiful historic city of Valladolid from 1500s. This is a classic Spanish style plaza, rectangular in shape with many trees and benches, as well as a fountain in the middle. It also has a gorgeous Cathedral and great colonial architectures all around. We had yummy home-made ice cream, watched, and enjoyed traditional Mexican dancing and singing in the park. There were lot of vendors in and outside the park and shops with handicraft items, especially wooden Mexican masks that you don’t get everywhere. The prices are reasonable compared to other places. We came here as part of a group tour by Xcaret Transferencias. They have a huge fleet of luxury buses with toilets inside. We were allowed to be here for half-an-hour on our way to Chichen itza. I wish we had more time to enjoy this cute, traditional, and historic park/place.

This town was fantastic. The little square has some street food vendors that sell some pretty darn good food. They had some dancers in the square that were really good too. The only downside was their music was pretty loud and I didn't necessarily want to listen to their music the whole time. There's a lot of shopping around the area which is great if you're interested in buying things. The highlight of the square is the old church that looks cooler on the outside than the inside.

Very cool town. I think they said the population is about 80,000. We needed more time to explore, but there is a wonderful church here, supposedly built by Mayans (i was told this.. have not personally verified) and they built a snake into the stone work. Most interestingly, they hid it by not creating a head or tail!

It's a nice central square, where people sit and relax, have ice cream and watch the traditional dancing in the early evenings. You have a nice view of the church and there are plenty of birds flying around.

Cool Park that I visited during a tour, it was at the center of Franciscan built buildings. There are vendors of ice cream, churros de leche, caramel, chocolate for ~$1-1.50 US. Also, the Marquesillas were delicious I love sweet and salty foods.

Francisco Canton square is in the very center of Valladolid with a gorgeous Cathedral dominating it. It's a classic Spanish style plaza, rectangular in shape with many trees and benches, as well a fountain in the middle. Here you will also find the double curved lover chairs like in Merida. The park is specially nice after dusk with many locals and street vendors around
