Before traveling to London, friends of ours urged us to visit Bletchley Park where Britain’s most brilliant code breakers played a very critical role in helping to speed up the end of WW2 by one to two years by intercepting German transmissions that were being sent by secret coded messages. The guides who led the tours were well informed and touring the grounds was absolutely fascinating! We took a train to Bletchley Park and the trip from London took about an hour but it was the highlight of our vacation and well worth the excursion.

Brilliant, educational fascinating glimpse into the work that helped end WWII two years early. Well laid out with audio and visual aids. Suitable for wheelchair access but there is quite a large area to cover if you want to see it all. Small but adequate cafe and interesting gift shop

A great exhibition of life behind the scenes of the propaganda machines of the world. Regardless of your thoughts on a war, this is a great story of humans solving problems, interactive, informative and worth a days ramble around the site. We'd just like to thank everyone for an outstanding day, my daughter bought a Virgin Experience ticket for myself (I have been trying to get here for the last many years), we popped in at 12:00, bought a guide book (which turned out to be back to front, I liked that more, followed the form of Bletchley), we then left at 17:10 (apologies), our guide was amazing, informative, humorous and got the group working, 14:00 tour, 24/03/21. We were so pleased that Bletchley Park staff/volunteers all seem to enjoy their work and it is noticeable. Thanks again for a great visit.

Wow what a historic place! 😲 Far bigger than I thought it would be. Spent six & a half hours walking around the grounds and exhibits. Still didn't get to all of it! Staff were great a very knowledgeable. Great place to visit if you like WW2 history 😀

The tour guide gave us a very interesting view of the place and the story, which is always welcome. The family audio guide for children is welcome but not enough to keep them interested, despite the embedded games. Maybe some scoring board system or progress bar would have helped -"getting hired as a secret agent" thing. The interactive screens scattered in the huts do a far better job at keping them interested.

Bletchley Park was the UK biggest secret during WWII. It still remains one of the best secrets as a place to visit. If you thought the movies were good you really need to visit Bletchley and see how really amazing the truth actually is. It is totally staggering what they did in those small huts. But what is great about Bletchley in 2022 is that they have restored the site, and kept the 1940’s feel of the whole site. Everything from the huts to the cafes and toilets are in theme. There are lots of video, interactive and information to make it a great visit. As other people have said keep the tickets, they are valid for a year. It may take 2 or 3 visits if you want to read everything. One of the best sites in the UK to visit, even my partner who hates “war stuff” loved it.

Overall, it isn't as good as it used to be, because Colossus is no longer included as an exhibit and they didn't make this clear at all. Also, the Winston Churchill room no longer exists. They have improved what they do have, including a very good video when you walk in and a cinema area with another good video. £7.99 for the bath ducks in the gift shop is a rip off, but other items in the shop were valued okay. The children's playground needs some more items. It would also be good to have learning material in the museum for young children.

Excellent experience. Very informative and well preserved and documented. You need a full day or two to get through it all thoroughly. My ticket provides a second visit, so will have to go back to finish. A self listening tour is provided.

I loved this place! It was a great place to get lots of information on the codes and the geniuses behind solving them. It does get quite busy but it was an amazing adventure and i would like to go again. I needed about 3 hours to look through everything. They provide lots of activities for kids to do like top secret files and digital activities around the rooms. It was very beautiful 😍

Absolutely recommended, we have a superb afternoon wandering around the estate taking in as much information as possible. It was brilliant to see actual items from the war era and how they put together the decoding process across the huts. Loved the way they have restored the site as if the staff have just left - gives a feeling of how the environment would have been (without the danger!). We drove to Bletchley and there was plenty of room to park. There's an amazing amount of information so you can make the day as long as you want.

The history of the site is presented in really interesting ways with quite a few interactive options along the way. The site is huge & fairly sure we missed bits 🤦 there was also work going on up at the house so it was covered in scaffolding so I'm really glad that the tickets are valid for 12 months so we'll be able to go back 📷😎

So much history so many unsung heroes and so little time. I was a bit time poor today but really wanted to visit this bastion of WW2 secret war winning legend. I got a taxi to the Park from Milton Keynes Central station with a quick stop at the hotel on the way. Driver agreed to pick me up there 3hours later and I was not disappointed. It is only a short walk from Bletchley station however and not much more from Bletchley Town Centre. This venue is very wheelchair friendly and is packed with information. The staff are incredible and go out of their way to make the visit special. As usual I spent too much in the gift shop but just couldn't resist as the items for sale are very relevant and not the usual fare. A gentle stroll around the grounds takes you through the actual buildings where democracy was saved by dedicated people who worked tirelessly to glean the intentions of the Nazis and give the allies the upper hand from early on. Without these heroes the world might be a different place today. The grounds are kept in immaculate condition and there is even a play area for the children, however on my visit many of the kids were enthralled by the interactive exhibits. A pair of older children (early twenty somethings) were having a great time trying on some of the authentic 40s apparel supplied for the purpose. Photography without flashes is welcome and the cake and tea I had in hut 4 was superb. There are guided and self media assisted tours available but I chose to go it alone as I'm familiar with the history. I would recommend this as a must see activity.

Visited on a Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Arrived as it opened at 9.30am and no queues, was recommended to take the included 1hr tour of the grounds with a guide (book at the information desk) and that was really informative. Cafe and restaurant on site, food was very tasty with reasonable prices (London influenced?) and in the end we spent over 6 hours there. Believe we saw most of not everything but you could definitely spend longer there. Great thing with the tickets is that within the next 12 months you can return again as many times as you want, so excellent value.

We had free tickets for this visit courtesy of the Heritage Week, which was very fortunate as it is a place we have both wanted to visit for some time now. Like so many others we knew a brief outline of what went on here, but to have it explained of the depth of research involved and the degree of secrecy maintained for all those years is truly outstanding. So much so that in all honesty I doubt if the country could enlist as many like minded and qualified people, both men and women, in this modern age. I wholeheartedly recommend taking the time to tour this wonderful testament to true British grit and resolve, you won't regret it.

Incredibly interesting place to visit, you really do get a sense of how it must have felt to be involved in such intense secrecy. We spent 4 hours here, including 30 minutes for lunch. There's a huge amount to watch see and read. The cafe by the house could perhaps include a bit more choice but extremely friendly staff.

It was my first time at Bletchley. The history was fascinating. The tour guide option is worthwhile as it is a confusing array of buildings although a map is provided. There were lots of interactive displays and lots of personal lived experiences narrated. I was surprised at how well maintained the house is with lots of arts and crafts designed woodwork, ceilings and plasterwork. The cafe was pleasant and efficient too. Well worth a visit.

I went here as part of a trip, there was a place to eat inside and it was nice and tidy there are some toilets. Quite a few different things to look at including displays and a few factual short movies and a house. Everything is nicely presented and the workshop was a bit boring but I still got to see a working enigma machine, this was an interesting experience and an amazing part of British history.

What a fantastic museum telling an incredible story of human ingenuity. It's amazing how they broke the ciphers used by Germany (Enigma and Lorenz) and Japan. What is also astonishing is the fact that everyone there kept the secret for many decades and didn't tell anyone what went on at BP during WWII. There is so much to see so it is great that your ticket allows multiple visits for a year. Also don't forget to visit the National Museum of Computing which is on the same site but is a different museum which houses Colossus, the world's first computer, along with the world's oldest working computer, WITCH/Dekatron

Positives: • Both the organized tour and audio guide were interesting and informative. These were available on a first-come first-served basis so I recommend signing up for the tour and getting an audio guide immediately after entry. • Facinating range of items on display including an enigma machine once owned by Benito Mussolini. • There is a nice seating area with deck chairs and picnic tables outside the mansion. • The volunteers and other staff are very helpful and pleasant. Negatives: • The drink and food available were a little on the expensive side but buying these helps supports the Park so not really a problem.

Nobody would suspect that this nondescript collection of buildings in the beautiful ground of a large country estate would be home to some of the most important scientific, technological and military work the world had ever seen. The site is chock full of finely gathered and detailed information that tells the story of how, in the late 1930s the British government needed a site located close to London, Birmingham, Oxford and Cambridge to gather and monitor information on the increasing situation with Germany. The volunteers are great, answering questions with knowledge and patients. Bletchley Park is one of the finest museums in the world.

A very immersive experience. So much information about very dedicated people with pictures around the buildings making it more personal . A lot to see and interact with . There are facilities to eat and sit down. Benches outside around the lake are a welcome break from the huts. One can only imagine what an 8 hour shift was like ! A lovely day out 😊

Really loved this, they have an activity pack for kids which is suitable for all ages which takes you around everything. Lots of interactive displays and videos not just reading. Picnic benches and cafes. Wasn't overly busy either, arrived at 10:30 and left at 3:30 having seen mostly everything (computing museum wasn't open), had to queue for some areas due to social distancing and lots of handsaniter stations at every exit and entrance. would highly recommend:)

One of the most amazing places I’ve ever been, incredibly thought provoking and goes further under the surface of the operation that was here. Doesn’t hype Alan Turing past what he did in the specific huts and really gives women a platform that wouldn’t have been acknowledged during their service. Absolutely beautiful grounds and amazing staff, highly recommend!

Bletchley Park is a fantastic place to learn about the codebreakers during WW2. I really recommend visiting if you get the opportunity. The website recommends taking a full day to visit, but in reality you can see the whole place comfortably in around 3-4 hours. I strongly recommend speaking with the staff - they are all extremely knowledgeable about the site and it's history. There is a play area and picnic area for families. Tickets last for a full year so you can go back multiple times if you want to.

A day isn't long enough to see everything at this once top secret location involved with code breaking. The exhibits tells the story of how several hundreds of people dedicated their lives to bring WW2 to an end. There is an audio/video device that you can take around with you, also a conducted tour is available. Catering has not been overlooked with hot and cold food and beverages available. Admission allows for return visits (1yr) which l/we intend to use because there is so much to see. A big thank you to everyone there for bringing Bletchley back to life.

Lovely venue and really interesting subject matter, sensitively laid out to show the work done by these unsung heroes of WW2. Lovely exhibits to the work carried out and very informative showing the direct links between work carried out at BP and its then influence in strategic battles and reducing losses. Some interactive exhibits on the day we visited weren't working and others were crowded by people so couldn't be accessed at all. Sadly the food situation was the biggest letdown with the cafe selling only Artisan type produce, "lentil crisps" or a home made sausage roll for £5! I watched a family of 2 adults and 2 kids pay over £42 for what was nothing more than a snack. Sadly my son whom luckily we didn't bring would have eaten nothing there as the sandwiches were filled with bizarre fillings and grossly over priced. Overall loved the museum and the subject matter, the facilities were disappointing and certainly unless your children are into WW2 there is little to engage them or to feed them literally so bring a packed lunch or a full wallet.

Finally got round to visiting Bletchley Park. It is a fascinating museum with a range of different exhibits. This is not a museum, it is a place where historical events took place and you can literally walk through them. For anybody that is interested in the origins of computer science, here you can discover some “dots” to connect that brought the modern computer era.

An excellent day out. Hard to believe we were there from opening time (10am) until closing time (4pm). Worth signing up for the free walking guided tour (outside). The headsets cover much of the same. Walking tour lasts for about an hour. Lunch in hut 4 - pretty good selection. A lot to see and your tickets are valid for a year to return anytime. Free on site parking or train station a couple of hundred metres away.

A really fascinating place to visit, more of a focus around the Enigma machine of course. We found that unlike other war museums there is less here about uniforms, weapons, medals etc which is a nice difference. We visited on one of the hottest days in summer, so some rooms/buildings were incredibly hot. It goes to show the kinds of conditions they would have been working in at a time of war too, humbling. I also particularly liked the art exhibition focusing on data. There were a few that you could contribute to. Lots of green spaces, so great for a picnic if you bring your own lunch or snacks.

We had a great day at Bletchley Park! Even the security were happy and informative. All the staff were really helpful and polite. We went on a tour which was 1 hour and it went so quickly, his name was John. An hour wasn't long enough tp talk about all the amazing things that happened there. The exhibits were interesting, some were interactive. I liked the fact it told you how long until the next showing of a clip or movie. The D Day movie was great. Pros: great day out, good shop, informative tour guide, good facilities. Cons: expensive food (no peas, as they run out!), I'd like to see more of the mansion set up to how it would have been, Overall a great day out and you get visit as many times as you like for 12 months after your visit which does include some events.

This really is a national treasure that goes into intimate detail the life and times of the people that worked during WWII and the diligent work they endured to ensure they cracked the enigma code and win the second world war. The exhibitions are thoroughly interesting and very informative going to give you an idea of the life at Bletchley Park and the work they did. The information contained in the exhibitions is of the right depth keeping you interested and really admiring the place. I would recommend this place to anyone even those who aren't into their history will love it and it really has left a legacy for future generations to remember and be proud of British history. It should never be ignored by future generations as it assisted in the way of life we have today. The staff are also helpful and friendly.

Great experience if you have kids, our 12yr old was very reluctant to go, however came out demanding we go back another day! Lots of interactive exhibits and short films tell the story in an accessible way, perhaps not as much to see for adults as I expected and the exhibits can get a little repetive. Great cafe on site (expensive though) and lots of nice spots for a picnic if you go on a nice day. You need to book a time slot and be prepared for a little queuing, we went on Sunday in school hols and wast too bad. Price is a little high, but your tickets are valid for a year which does make it better value. Overall would recommend.

Bletchley Park is very interesting. There is so much information available and it's spread out over quite a number of different buildings. They are currently restricting numbers in each building due to Covid so you may have a wait a little bit before being allowed access but it was well managed.

Fantastic place, a great day out. We spent 5+ hours here and weren't bored. A brilliant view into what went on during WW2 and the importance of Bletchley Park, its people and the work that went on there. Great price for how long you can stay there. Good facilities and felt safe with the COVID-19 safety measures in place.

Liked what they have done to the place. Been many years since my last visit Tells a very interesting story of their role in WW2, but leads you through MI in WW1 through 2 to modern day GCHQ. Loved the background film to D Day invasion.

Stopped on a drive across the country, really interesting to visit. The management had made lots of effort to offer safe visits with queue control and hand sanitizer everywhere. Genuinely fascinating part of our history and we'll worth the visit.

Lovely place, probably requires 2-3 hours to see everything. Feels good just being able to say I went there - the place where Alan Turing completely changed the world forever without knowing or getting recognition at the time. Cafe food is pretty expensive for what you get.

  • 5/5 Jan H. 3 years ago on Google
Really enjoyed my visit. The decor in the mansion is beautiful and so much to see at the exhibition . I particularly liked the way the Huts have been set out inside as you could sense the atmosphere of how it was back then. Wow they were so clever.

  • 4/5 David L. 3 years ago on Google
This place is historically valuable and there is a decent amount of content, but the ticket prices are for a whole year not a single go and it is on the steep side. I am not sure if there will be enough content for me to come back again. The actual grounds of Bletchley Park aren't huge either compared to others that use the yearly pass model (like Blenheim Palace).

  • 5/5 Margaret J. 3 years ago on Google
Brilliant site. Absolutely fascinating. The Trust has done such hard work, gives you a real flavour of what it would have been like to be here during the war. Amazing.

  • 5/5 Hazel M. 3 years ago on Google
Despite the weather (torrential rain) the venue had enough indoor interests to keep the group occupied. Interesting historical facts and very educational. Would definitely go again.

Very informative exhibits. Plenty to look at and do. There's a great adventure play ground for the kids. There are queues when it's busy like at half term, so a good plan to see the Bombe exhibit early on. You need about 3-4 hours to do it justice but the ticket lasts all year, so you can come back another time. Great for young and old.

An excellent day out dispite the well managed Covid restrictions. Lots to see and even more to learn. Difficult to see and appreciate it all in one day. We will certainly go back.

  • 5/5 Lindsay A. 3 years ago on Google
Excellent. Staff all switched on and helpful. Well organised for Covid safety It was half term so busy with queues for some huts and exhibitions. Only negative was nowhere to shelter my mother in a wheel chair when it rained. And we were queuing. I had forgotten an umbrella. The shop did sell them I discovered later. The cafeteria provided safe socially distanced space but we had to miss out some exhibits.

Spent a very enjoyable four hours at Bletchley Park and learned a lot about what went on during the war here. I am a keen history buff but my partner is not and even she enjoyed it and learnt a great deal. The parking is easy and the entire site is very well laid out and very easy for people with mobility issues and everywhere outside is fine for people with mobility scooters. The huts are a problem for scooters but unfortunately that cannot be helped. The shop at the end of the tour has many interesting things to buy.

Great place to spend 3-4 hours in the museum and various out buildings. Thick with history, even includes sounds of planes and sirens in the grounds. Would recommend

  • 4/5 jack L. 2 years ago on Google
Most people will not be aware how this place and the incredible people who worked there during the war, actually helped save thousands of lives. The hard work of the volunteers who maintain and provide help to visitors is invaluable. Good easy access to all areas, a tidy and good value cafe available.

A interesting place to visit but was a bit under whelmed. Avoid the Cafe as prices are eye watering ,small sausage roll £5.00 Typical of badly run places like this. Kids will be bored

Staff were very helpful and all informative. A well set out location with plenty of ramps for the less able of us. We had a lovely day and would recommend it anyone thay wants omitting different. I think adults would find find more interesting than young children.

  • 5/5 Darrell H. 1 year ago on Google
I admire whoever put this museum together. The topic is extremely heavy on math (which most people seem to hate) and yet they put a lot of personal interest into it to make it a good story. We took 5 hours and still had to skip a lot of audio stories. I didn't get much out of the audio guides that they hand out at the start. It seemed to be too much of a repeat of what is on display. I preferred reading the displays, but I can easily understand why someone would want the guides. Also, we recommend starting in block B. It is heavy material to get through and takes a while, but when you are done, you have the entire story.

Such an inspiring location. I'd driven past signs during many trips through Milton Keynes but never visited. Plans were made to meet up with good friends on a Saturday. Worth getting here early as doors open. We spent over 4 hours looking and could have spent longer. Interactive exhibits are excellent. Plus the code breakers and history of computing as well. But more that these there are insights into what it was like for all those working here. Pre booked afternoon tea was outstanding. The team there really looked after us. Highly recommended

Absolutely amazing day. Very very interesting place, all the staff and volunteers were great, filled with loads of passion and knowledge and willing to share all of it. 5hrs it took to go round and I will be visiting again to learn much more. I thank all the staff and volunteers for keeping this history and memories alive from the gate on the way in, through buying the tickets, all around the the park, the restaurant (hut 4) the shop and on the way out. I will remember today forever.

Attracting visitors from all around the world, Bletchley Park has something for everyone, from absolute novices who don't know anything about WW2 to certified expert military historians. You can have the self guided tour with headphones and commentary in different languages, or pay extra for a human guided tour, which is probably going to be the best experience. There are original enigma machines, along with replicas of various other code breaking devices. The site isn't too big, so you can walk it all. There are lifts / elevators next to most staircases and access ramps everywhere, too, so older visitors are looked after. There is an impressively sized gift shop, with almost everything you can think of, including Bletchley Park gin, beer, puzzles, t shirts, etc... there are a few cafes, indoor and outdoor seating and picnic tables. The short movie clips they play in the cinema room are very informative and well put together, and the original huts with 1940s furniture are particularly impressive. There's plenty of parking and lots of staff on hand to help.

A wonderful experience. A fantastic insight into wartime life and military history. This sight has so much to see and process to the point of almost being overwhelmed with information. I would highly recommend taking the opportunity to visit more than once, the ticket you purchase may seem expensive but it is valid for a full year so you can come and go as you please. There are many interactive exhibits and learning experiences for all ages, beautiful grounds and wonderful exhibits so regardless of the weather the visit can be fully enjoyed. There are food and snack vendors but the gardens would be perfect for a small picnic. All in all a very interesting and enjoyable experience I will certainly be visiting again

Great place to visit, lovely green spaces and the exhibitions are awesome. Take your time to immerse yourself in history, the ticket is valid for a year so you can come back another time to visit again. There is a tour guide session with loads of inside information from people who use to work there during the war. I also heard there is a 40's theme party in September!

The place is an interesting place to visit. It isn't too far from the train station. They contain relics and tell the story of the intelligence service based there during the World Wars. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and I recommend booking onto their free tours.

This place is amazing. So much information. Plan the whole day. There are some nice cafe's on site. Be sure to give yourself time to walk through all the blocks and huts.

Good day out with friends and family. If you get there when it opens and leave when it closes there is loads of history on codebreakers and enigma to see. There is a cafe, pond and all the machines that they used. Some of the machines are interactive with lots of touchscreen tablets so good for young children. (Under 12s go free).

Lovely historical building, absolutely a must visit for anyone with an interest in the Enigma machine, and the first ever built Alan Touring world computer. This is a fascinating place that transcends history with the great display of artifacts used during WW2. Highly educational, and a great day out for anyone. Open Monday to Sunday, from 09:30 am to 17:30 pm. Paid parking available, wheelchair access, and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Always wanted to visit this place, and was a bit put off by the price. However, it’s an exceptional experience, full of history and fascinating information. Every section has a different feel to it, so it doesn’t get repetitive. Some excellent interaction as well. You get an annual pass with entrance so if you can spread it out over 2 days I’d recommend it, as it’s a lot of information to process!
