A beautiful place surrounded by woods where you can enjoy the tranquillity of nature while enjoying a panoramic landscape of the beautiful archipelago area. Fantastic place to escape from the city for a day. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with friendly staff. The foods are superb. Make sure to drop by if you are an art lover!

An absolute must when in Stockholm. A rainy day on our visit but only added to the feeling of being in and around nature. We ate at the cafe, not the restaurant. Really delicious Swedish food - all the usual candidates - herring, prawns, cranberry and all stunning. Wonderful day. Help yourself mushroom soup was very good according to my friends who I went with. Nice little poster from the gift shop too. Smashing.

Been here for several times. Always enjoyed the good view. Even better when there is sunlight. Better drive a car since the bus headways can be quite long.

Nice place outside Stockholm, where ""Art meets Nature". I think these words are great to describe Artipilag. Walking nature trail with sculptures and art space, with restaurant, cafeteria and exhibitions. Definitely a place worth visiting and enjoying.

An impressive place loved in nature. We visited the temporary exhibit about Monet and the nature walk. Had lunch at the restaurant. The buffet was delicious and the staff lovely. A great place for an outdoor day.

Art gallery which has a cafe, restaurant shop and toliets. We visited to see the Imagine Monet exhibition which was fantastic and fully immersive with fantastic visuals and music. The outside of the museum has some impressive sculptures set in the forest area accessible by a wooden boardwalk. A great art gallery set in lovely surroundings.

Way to spend time with your family on nature. Also in the building you can find place to eat. Prices are not low. Outside the building, you can find road through forest. Almost on all way path made from wood. Beautiful views are everywhere! Parking is at the beginning of path. It’s possible to go with strollers.

Unmissable art museum both en plain air and indoor. Lunch time in the Caffetteria restaurant is a peasant moment to meditate on the temporary expositions you’ve admired.

This is a great exhibition space that is bit further out but definitely worth it. The building is very well designed with oak wood furniture and big windows that frame the outside view of the forest. The exhibition space was also very nice, not too big just the right size to take in whatever is in view. The cafe and the shop are also really nice. The fact that the space is in the middle of nature adds a lot to the great experience.

A place for when you just want to relax and take it easy. The most soothing atmosphere you can encounter. We don’t even come for the art. We come for the surroundings. The café is also highly recommended. High quality food and pastry.

Fantastic place with good food and service. Very spacious and grandiose, the huge windows towards nature is key! We had the julbord which was very good quality and included all the classics. 2 hours is a bit on the shorter side for us that talk a lot, but we managed. Even though I was satisfied in general, I would like to see a slightly lower price to have better balance between cost and value.

Followed the nature trail, it was a nice walk with scenic view and occasionally stumbling on to thoughtful displays of modern art pieces by Artipelag. Worth the travel away from Stockholm City center for a bit. Nice food at the Artipelag restaurant too, try the shrimp salad.

Modern museum in the middle of nature. A perfect place for a sunny weekend exploring the outdoor sculpture installations and a nice stroll on the boardwalk. There is also a small cafeteria selling cakes and pastries that one can check out, although I feel that the cakes and pastries were only average taste wise and they were all of very small portions.

Good place! The sculpture in nature is a beautiful attraction and you don't have to pay for it - just if you want the updated map of sculptures (50kr). The site is a bit confusing about it, but they explained it there when we were trying to buy. The restaurant have good meals.

A contemporary art center in the beauty archipelago where nature and art embrace each other! Nice restaurant as well with delicious plates. Perfect for a day trip and if you want experience the beauty of the Swedish nature!

Beautiful place where art meets nature. They have a path walk around the water so it was beautiful walk in the forest, with art installations in the nature. I went there for Imagine Monet’s exhibition and it was amazing. You can take public bus from Slussen. The nearest bus stop called “Artipelagstigen” and it stopped right in front of the museum.

Oh no. Large art exhibition venue with almost no content. Information desk was not helpfull and it was hard to know what you actually could look at. Very confusing. Found like 8 paintings next to the restaurant with a guide thar handed us a book about the artist but wasn'tsure if we could keep the book or had to pay for it . So gave it back quickly and left . Everywhere was build to host masses of people, the car park was huge and there where the air port style line separator ropes everywhere, but almost no guests It all felt like an empty ikea without anything to buy. Except for the ridiculously overpriced museum shop, you always het those!! Is the building a comment on the capitalist world we live in ,the unesseray consumption where nature is always the looser, was the lack of content a work of art in it self. I don't know... I don't know ! Please don't go ! It's an hour I could have spend with loved once instead.

This is the best place (any place for that matter) I had ever been in Sweden, bar none. Beautiful place and amazing environment, true quality Nordic architecture and resonable amenities. Prices are also reasonable and excellent access (including private transportation). I suggest that you check the scheduled events (both indoor and outdoors!) and active expos and give it a try. Is not wildly far from downtown and is the best of the best in Sweden, atop of any other choice. Some regard my reviews as very exigent, even sardonic, but I judge what I see and try hard to tell it like it is. This might be the first time I rate anything in Sweden with top marks. And very rightly so.

Can be a nice day trip from Stockholm! The place is in Värmdö which is about 30km from Stockholm. It is a unique place that the art is integreted in the nature. Walking in trail and trying to spot where the art is installed feels like s treasure hunt! The museum is for free except for temporary exhibitions. The restaurant is with lovely sea view and very importantly, the food is good! Highly recommended!

The building and surrounding scenery is amazing (the toilet is a must see as well, not joking), but other than that there ia very little to see and it all depends on the specific art exhibition in place. Entrance is free, but parking is not free, it's 25-35 kr/h with max of 3 paid hours, depending on how close is the parking lot, no reason to park close as there is a great walk from the far parking to the main building. Also the art exhibitions are paid, not much to see for free there, even the map of the place (we didn't buy) with the audio guide is paid. Cafe serves very small dishes at overpriced rates, bring your own picnic food and enjoy the nature. Bottom line, bring your own food and come only when the weather ia good for a picnic and enjoy the nature and the specific exhibition you want to see.

Lovely and futuristic place to spend a unique day off.ideal for exhibits and meets. Full facilities to cater to the public. Only gripe is the scant frequemcy of public transport...

I am a novice, not deeply immersed in the world of art, but visiting Artipelag was a great experience. As the name implies, it's an art gallery surrounded by nature. The place is gorgeous, it's worth going there just to explore the surroundings, sit down and enjoy the silence. The only drawback is getting there, it's quite far away from the city and can be challenging if you, as a tourist, rely on public transport.

We did not visit museum but took walk in the area (it is free of charge). There is a quite long path which is available also for people using wheelchair. Path with enjoyable view at nature - forest, water, art. Place is close to Stockholm where we stayed. Parking was not free, however very cheap.
