Where Joseph Smith was pulled out by mops and got hit with feathers and tarr. Also, Sydney Rigdon and Joseph saw God and His Son here. I think John Johnson was so generous for sharing this place with them.

One of the best Latter-day Saint historic sites in all of Ohio. A detailed restoration of the John Johnson Farm, where Joseph Smith resided for a time and where some of the most important revelations in Latter-day Saint history (including Doctrine and Covenants 76) were received. Furthermore, the tour is very detailed about the history of the structure and the area. It is a beautiful area and a very scenic drive to get there.

Beautifully authentic home of John Johnson from 1831. The tour was wonderful, and the home was fully furnished with era artifacts. A great place for all, especially members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints.

Historic Johnson Farm is an incredible window into life in the 1800s and The early days of the church. Pretty wild how much history happened here. Also what blew me away is all the 1800s modern features this home had (for the time period). Fireplaces had warming cabinets, a well pump was inside the home, they had summer kitchens with double doors to make the perfect cheese, centralized fireplace to warm the entire house in winter, windows designed for lighting perfection, there are no hallways so it's a maximized, efficient, use of space, 1st floor rooms for giving birth or guests, doors placed strategically so guests like Joseph Smith have a private entrance to work from. The missionary guides are fantastic and have such an indepth knowledge of this wonderful place. Very peaceful here. Bring picnic food as many tables exist to spend time reflecting.

The John Johnson home is beautiful and has much of the original flooring. The paint colors have also been matched to the original. The sister missionaries shared some beautiful stories with us about the amazing happenings here while Joseph and Emma Smith lived here and the revelations that were received.

Great historical home that has been fully restored to help us understand the period but also the spiritual significance to the LDS church and the faith of it's early members. Well worth the visit and free guided tour!

Exceptional things happened here. History is so well preserved. Worth the drive to see this Gem. Elsa Johnston's arm was healed here, which is so neat because she loved to paint and decorate. Much of this is preserved so you can see it. Really a wonderful place.

The early history of the Mormon church provides so many lessons for us today about religious freedoms, those that seek to oppress that freedom. This location had so many events that helped establish the religion as well as some of the most opposition that they faced. The guides are great at bringing the history to life in this immaculately restored historical site.
