This has large rock formations that can be difficult to climb in the fall. Children could be hurt if not supervised as the trials are steep. The walk up the path has loose rocks and some tree ruts so be cautious. The stairs on the left side entrance are better for people with minor health restrictions. The trail on the left is marked hiking and such. The bathroom facility is present however not managed by staff of the park " at least not today". There is sandstone and granite everywhere which is slippery early morning climbs. I also noticed some people should be prepared and bring your inhaler as it is not for everyone to hike this trial. Overall nice place but not a next time.

Lots of huge rock formations. Very beautiful and unique place to hike or climb. We saw people repelling too. My kids like to climb on the rocks after they took a climbing class here through the park services! They learned how to "Boulder" and come back now to climb here.

1000% recommend Whipps Ledges if you’re looking for a hiking spot. There’s a lovely pavilion where you can picnic, grill, and also use restrooms. Down the trail you’ll find massive, beautiful rock structures with many fun ways of getting up! You can make it as easy or as challenging as you want to. The spaces between the ledges are gorgeous and peaceful, with many places to relax under and overhang or on top of a massive rock. A must see.

This is such a cool park to take a hike through. It was super windy today but it meant the trail was empty for the most part. I liked the elevation and how the trail went across the rim. The photos don’t do it justice. I could see this trail being too difficult I. The winter time with snow but great in spring and fall for the foliage or trees.

Great place for family picnic, hiking and rock climbing! Following the colors printed on the tree for hiking, so you won’t lose! The rock formations are gorgeous!

My family enjoyed this place as much as if we had taken a trip to a theme park, and yet we didn't pay a dime. There are so many little things to see and places to go in this tiny 1/4 mile square area you could spend the whole day here and not get bored. Be sure to bring food and water and your camera!

I love Whipps Ledges. I’ve gone here since I was a child, and there is always so much to explore. People rock climb here. I’ve used this as part of an 8-mile loop to train for backpacking, too. Really great mushrooms always emerge this time of year— especially after rainstorms. Highly recommend, just be careful on the rocks. The moss and loose sand can make them slippery.

Gorgeous hike!! Parts of the trail were not clearly marked but we ended up figuring it out and the second half was much clearer. Gorgeous rock formations which were so much fun to hike around. Would highly recommend hiking here.

Fantastic rock formations to just admire and walk through. Plenty of climbing to do for a great experience. Lot of hills, caves and ledges to explore. Can be a bit dangerous for young children.

So much to see for such a short hike. Welcome back to the Turkey Vultures. Have a royal walk among the Oak and Beech... the Kings and Queens of the forest!

This Metropark is as beautiful as any place in the National Park. These ledges have their own gravity, and a climbing section, and a path around that is more accessible without very much steep climbing. They want you to be mindful of moss and ferns and avoid stepping on them if possible. They're pretty creatures. Outhouse at the trailhead, but no water. You can go across the road to find further hiking, toward and around Hickley Lake. And farther South, if you're wanting more ledges and artistic carvings, it's worth visiting the Worden's Ledges as well. Smaller than these, but equally impressive in the forest.

This is a great trail in general - well marked especially if you go to the left of the loop. It's very beautiful and the rock formations are amazing however this trail is far from easy/moderate in the fall. My husband and I wore our son In a baby carrier and combined with the steep descents and climbs and the leaf cover on the ground it was very slippery. In short, I would not recommend this trail to those with dogs, disabilities, or with small children. It's a difficult hike especially in the fall despite the fact that it's so short.

Really cool ledges! Be careful when there's snow down, the hiking level is way higher than a beginner trail that it would be in summer!

Nice spot to picnic or grill before heading up. The spots been empty everytime I've gone which is nice. There's a raccoon that loves to hang around, and every now and then sneaks into the trash can, he seems friendly though and keeps his distance, so don't have to worry about him. The ledge walk is cool. Some nice places to rock climb if you're into that. The rocks around the area are nice to look at as well. Apparently at one point the whole area was under water, and you can see it in the rocks. Depending on the path you take, it becomes less smooth to traverse.

The buzzards were a no-show at #BuzzardsRoost in #HinckleyPark today but we took a hike on #WhippsLedges. You just don't feel like you're in Ohio between Cleveland, Akron and Medina. The trail is very rugged with lots of roots and slippery rocks but beautiful even without foliage on the trees yet.

If you park at the picnic shelter you have to walk up a pretty steep hill to get to the ledges. For a little less of a hill park at the top o' the ledges parking lot. The ledges themselves do not disappoint. Plenty of great hiking, with spectacular views. The paths are marked with little painted squares on trees and rocks, which are easy to follow if you're paying attention. The paths can get quite muddy when wet, so plan accordingly

Greatly enjoy going to the Ledges. They paths are difficult and not well marked, but worth it. Given my limitations and the fact I have a 4 yo in tow, we never make it all the way around the loop.

😠 This low rating is in no way, shape or form against the swim instructors or lifeguards, they do an amazing job and if I could rate them separately they would get 5 stars. The upper management and other workers however are incompetent and rude. We asked if the pavilions were available for rent, we w...

😠 Visited this hill last year and again yesterday. Last year there was a big pile of wood for fire in the burn barrel. Not this year. Also, they shortened the hill, which really stinks because it is slow now. The kids do all the work to get up to the top, but they don’t get the fun ride down. Sad. It...
