Incredible vegan food!! My partner and I don't branch out much in terms of food bc most North Jersey vegan food we've tried hasn't been great. I'm so happy we decided to come here! The burger salad, cheeseburger, and pulled BBQ biscuit were amazing. Urban Vegan could hang in LA, that's how good it is 😉

Drove 40 minutes to try this vegan spot and it was worth it! Staff was very welcoming and accommodating! Our new favorite spot for sure. Black eye pea burger is a MUST try! We ordered several things off their menu, mains, sides, cookies, hibiscus tea, mango smoothie & everything taste super delicious! Above my expectations, looking forward to eating here with my family again!

Run here! The cheesesteak was so juicy and flavorful. I’m not vegan/vegetarian so I temper my expectations when it comes to vegan restaurants- but the food here was absolutely delicious! I had the Philly cheesesteak and side salad, let’s just say I couldn’t believe it was vegan. I’ve found a new go-to burger spot. The salad was refreshing and came with a light vinaigrette. The staff were friendly and the dine in area was pristine. Highly recommend the food here, loved every morsel of it!

I ordered 1 chickpea burger to share with my dad because he tends to not like vegan options and he ended up finishing my burger! If we weren’t in such a rush I would’ve went back and ordered two more. The burger was hands down probably one of the tastiest vegan burgers I have ever tried. My dad and I both loved it. I was surprised he was still talking about it as I wrote this review. He mentioned it reminded him of this meaty dish he tried before but this was much better. I also loved both of the Mint and Hibiscus teas. The hibiscus tea is a must. The coleslaw was delicious, we both enjoyed sharing it. Will definitely get my own next time. I also recommend adding the chocolate macadamia cookies as they are very tasty and good for dessert! Everything was incredibly affordable as well, I loved the price!! Will definitely find myself coming by Newark more often. P.S the staff made the experience better! Thank you Urban Vegan :)

It’s expensive if you want to get full but the quality of the food is high. I ordered a power bowl with black eyed peas over black rice with all of the toppings and avocado. I also got a Forever Young smoothie with extra kale and some sweet potato fries. It was a fantastic meal.

The vibe at Brick City Vegan is pretty 🔥. The music is on point. It’s clean and I’m a plant mom, so I alive the plants too. I ordered the Black Eyed Pea burger and subbed the salad for sweet potato fries. The staff was nice and helpful when I shared that it was my first time here. I’ll be back again to try other things on the menu.

Such a cute place and they are so nice! The chicken biscuit was great! As are the smoothies! The only thing I'd recommend is adding protein powder for an additional option for the smoothies.

I was with my daughter watching a live Cirque Du Soleil performance in Newark. After it was over, we were both hungry and I was worried that we wouldn't be able to have healthy choices in the depressed area that we were at. Boy, was I wrong! Luckily, as I began my food search, I happened to drive right by a vegan takeout place called Urban Vegan (myurbanvegan.com). The menu had about three dozen vegan food options including vegan burgers sides, and sandwiches. I ordered the Chikpea Burger. It was so delicious that I woofed it down in no time (Where's my manners?). My daughter ordered the California Burger and she too loved her order. The sweet potato fries we ordered were fresh and tasty as well. The menu seems to be partly inspired by soul food. As it turns out, the owners are African-American. They also offer several types of natural smoothies. I wish my South Brooklyn neighborhood had a place such as this, but for now, I'll have to travel to get tasty vegan food.

I loved it here!! We're not vegan but we wanted to try something plant based and this was so so great. The food was incredibly amazing and everyone there was also super nice. The place is cute and has comfy seats. The presentation of the food was top notch. So delicious. Its slightly overpriced

Top Notch. Wonderful metl-in-your-mouth burgers. Perfect combination of crunchy and soft, sweet and salty. Hit every part of the pallet, served with sweet potato fries you cant go wrong with any option on this menu. A true delight and fantastic customer service. Definitely will be back!

Outstanding Vegan food is so hard to find so I really do appreciate anytime a new vegan restaurant comes on the scene. I finally got around to checking this place out...and I must say the biscuit along with a green smoothie were delicious. I was in a rush so I'm definitely going back to try some of the other dishes. Bring your wallet $$$ but the healthy vegan choices are both worth in the short and long term. And don't forget to pay the meter...Check it out...

I’m very happy that Newark has a vegan spot! It was my first time here and my experience was very good. Jada was very warm and welcoming while taking my order. Melanie prepared the food carefully and also in a timely manner. Their Hibiscus Tea (pictured below) is very good and fresh. I will be back and will also recommend this spot to family and friends!

Don’t miss their chickpea patty- absolutely delicious! The coleslaw inside burgers (instead of just mayo) adds a whole new flavor of taste. The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

Wow! Sinfully delicious! Normally, I share before photos, but due to that greedy spirit my husband and I remembered halfway before finishing. The Black Eyepea Burger, Philly Cheese Steak, and Coleslaw were almost too delicious for words. Don't forget to quench your thirst with some hibiscus tea and savor your sweet tooth with a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie. We will be back.

Wow!! I am a vegan visiting from Miami and I am so glad my friend took me here. Service from Tom, Rolando, and Jimmy was friendly and professional. Food was so hot and fresh. Highly recommended, even for non-vegans.

Amazing! We chose to eat here just before attending an event at the Prucenter. It was a quick walk away. The owner recommended the black eyed pea burger. He said it was a best seller and once I tasted it, I understood why. It was delicious. The sweet potato fried were nice and crispy. The smoothie was also very good. We would definitely return.

I was so happy to find out about a new vegan spot that is not too far away. I ordered online, the cheeseburger biscuit and the cheesesteak. It came to a little over $30. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and it was busy. I walked up and it is set up like a fast food spot. I was greeted and told the lady I was picking up. She got my food for me and I left. I got the cheesesteak for myself and the cheeseburger biscuit for my friend. I had a piece of my friend's sandwich and boy was it good. The cheesesteak was ok. It was filling but I probably won't order this particular sandwich again. I wish I got the biscuit sandwich. I will get that next time.

This was a great find in Newark NJ. The place has a cozy vibe to it where you can choose to dine in or eat out. I ordered the Biscuit Burger with. Piña Colada fruit shake. I enjoyed the taste. I am not a fan of sweet potatoes fries or sweet plantains but thats just not my preference. Everything else was perfect for a quick lunch. I'll definitely be back.

Yesterday was my first time going to urban vegan, I needed a quick meal before getting back to studying. The place is absolutely adorable, and the staff was very kind. I ordered the California burger and it was absolutely delicious, As well as the sweet potato fries. I’ll go so far as to say that burger tasted better than impossible meat, and I love impossible meat. Their hibiscus drink was also delicious. I will definitely be back, and shout out to their clean bathroom which I took a mirror selfie in .

Went to visit this place on a drive by with my wife and to say I was pleased was an understatement. The food was delicious we had the California burger & cheeseburger along with hibiscus tea & sweet potato fries. The service was great & the owner followed us outside to inquire about our experience which was a plus. I will be back

We were in town for a concert and decided to try this place out. Upon entering we knew we were going to be return customers. The atmosphere, staff, and food were all wonderful. We ordered a cheeseburger, sweet potato fries, coleslaw, 3 shakes, and 2 cookies. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend trying this place out if you're in the area.

I have seen Brick City Vegan a few times. Especially when in the area visiting the fam, but I never had the opportunity to try it. I just so happen to find free parking around the corner while heading to the prudential center for a concert, so this was the perfect opportunity to give BCV a try since I was early. Upon entry we were greeted by the young lady at the counter. She offered suggestion to assist with my indecisiveness. I decided to go with the Sweet Potato Burger and Sweet Potato Fries. As we waited for our order we also waited for a table. The seating area is small with approximately 3-4 tables. Luckily just before our food was ready a table became available. The food was fresh and not too heavy. I have enjoyed sweet potato fries before but o most admit this was my first time try a sweet potato burger. It was definitely tasty and in my opinion benefits from the addition of sauce. The country ranch with added ketchup was a nice touch. Overall a good vegan experience. Brick City Vegan is a nice addition to this improving area of Newark and worth checking out. Just A note: Try their iced mint tea, one of their signature drinks. As well as if you enjoy the Sweet Potato Burger, they sell packages for you to make at home.

Worth a visit if you happen to in the Newark area. Went there with the wife during lunch. She had the chicken biscuit sandwich with a side if sweet potato fries and the hibiscus tea to wash it down. I ordered the biscuit burger with a side of sweet potato fried and the banana strawberry shake. All of it was super tasty. We will be going back for sure.

We had the pleasure to try out some awesome vegan food! The staff is really welcoming and attentive. I had the bbq made of oats. Whooaat?!? Incredibly tasty! My partner had the “cheesesteak”. What an absolute amazing experience! Being new to the area and finding this goldmine was EVERYTHING! Their food is absolutely amazingly delicious! The staff is so kind and personable! I would recommend everyone I know to eat here! My Husband and I loved it! We ordered a Sweet potato & California Burger substituted the salad with Sweet Potato fries and Sweet plantain; SUPERB! If you are a spicy lover like me I recommend asking for a side of their Spicy Remoulade it’s DELICIOUS! I have officially found my favorite Vegan restaurant in Newark!

When you walk inside, the energy is fresh and warm and EJ greets you with enthusiasm! I didn’t know the menu since it was my first visit and she explained the fan favorites and I went with the Philly cheese steak and sweet plantains with hibiscus tea. Service 10/10 Food 10/10 Music 10/10

I would give it 10 stars if i could !!! So yummy and filling. I recommend the Black-Eyed Pea burger its TOOOOO GOOD. Service was also very good and they take their time and help you with any questions you may have. Brought my cousins who aren’t vegan and they are literally calling people they know and telling them that this is a must try!!

Frequented this place over the summer while looking for a meat replacement restaurant. EVERYTHING I'VE ORDERED WAS DELICIOUS! I did not miss meat. Lol my favorite is the California burger with the sweet potato fries... mmm mmm good!!

I come here every time I drive anywhere near Newark — it’s incredible and everything on the menu is worth trying. That said the chicken biscuit is my current go-to. I am STILL EATING and must leave this review! Service amazing, Tom, Jimmy & Whitney provided superb service and were uplifting in their vibe. I’ve been wanting to come here for such a while but haven’t had the chance. I do not regret this detour! I am eating a fantastic Philly Cheesteak and busting down the salad. Even grabbing a pulled BBQ to go. I’d rate more than 5 stars if I could.. Amazing

The food was AMAZING!!! The staff was super friendly. Everything my husband and I tried tasted delicious: the chicken biscuit, BBQ pulled oats biscuit, sweet potato fries, plantains, and coleslaw. The BBQ pulled oats biscuit was to die for, what a great combination of flavors! We swung through Newark on a road trip and ordered online for pick-up. The food was ready when we got there and was perfect. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Loved this place! Came here with my aunt and my cousin before entering a concert at the Prudential Center, and it is sooooo delicious! Great vegan spot in Newark ! It's right on broad St. It was busy when we got there, but the food was phenomenal! I got a chicken sandwich and a black eye pea burger. It is a home made burger which makes it waaaay more delicious than a beyond or impossible. Will definitely be going back !

This was my first visit and I loved it! I had the pulled BBQ biscuit with sweet potato fries and pina colada (drank it on the way home). The food was delicious even after driving a few miles home to eat it. The establishment is clean, inviting and the staff is friendly. I'll definitely visit again to try other items on the menu.
