We went to a temple, St Joseph’s Cathedral, “The Eiffel Tower”, and stopped by a dessert place to try Vietnamese delicacy. Some hidden surprises along the way! Cycling around Hanoi is definitely not for the faint-hearted, however you’ll feel safe in the hands of the guides at Friends Travel Vietnam.

It was an amazing experience! My parents are from Vietnam but I am born and living in the Netherlands. I have been to Ha Long Bay once with my parents. But last year I went again with my cousins, but this time with Travel Friends. The tour has a lot of activities, very different than the time I went with my parents. We have booked the tour at the office in Hanoi, it was very convenient because Sydney is Dutch and they also gave good advice about the storm that was coming.

Friends travel made my trip possible to Vietnam. I was required to have a Visa Sponsor letter in order to get the visa on arrival (Im from the Dominican Republic and we CANT get the e-visa or get the VoA without the letter) They were so helpful and thoughtful. They booked a couple of excursions for me and arranged the airport transport, so worth it. The tour operators that they work with were really great. Recommend 100%

My husband and I booked a 3D2N package and it included all transportation (pickup from Hanoi and drop-off in Ninh Binh), an overnight stay on a cruise (activities inclusive of kayaking, swimming, cooking class [quick spring roll lesson], night fishing to catch squid, biking, a cultural tour of Cat Ba, and all food), and then a home stay in Cat Ba (activities inclusive of a hike and all food). What I liked about the tour company was their communication. They were incredibly easy to contact via WhatsApp. We also asked for a mid-range cruise, which we got. The food was very good and the rooms were comfortable; however, hot water for showers was extremely limited. My main complaint is about the price. We paid around 5.6 million dong/person. Upon talking with other passengers on the cruise, many of them got a much better price. And one person who joined us for the homestay also got a cheaper price, and their package included a night kayak (ours did not). While it's nice having a tour company do all the logistical planning, it's a bit disappointing hearing how you overpaid for the same experience. My recommendation would be to shop around, as there are tons of tourist companies who offer similar packages and you may be able to negotiate a fair price. We thought we got a fair deal, but we also didn't shop around, which was our mistake.

EDIT: I contacted the company and they were genuinely concerned and were extremely kind and considerate of my experience. I think they do have the customer’s best interests at heart, and my situation was perhaps just an isolated incident. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Money hungry company that will lie just to get you to book. My tour to Sapa from Hanoi with this company was one of the worst tours I’ve ever been on. I’ve traveled in Vietnam before and been to over 50 countries. I can confirm that this company’s tours are grossly overpriced. I also do not recommend Sapa in general. The entire area is full of trash. The hikes we did with Friends Travel were on cement roads littered with ramen noodle wrappers. Really disgusting. We walked through landslide risk areas and at times the paths were gone due to landslides. It wasn’t really safe at all. The bus ride to Sapa was horrendous. It was two hours longer than stated and I wasn’t allowed to choose my seat. I’ve never slept somewhere so uncomfortable. Even an airport is better. Do yourself a favor and save your money.

We had a wondeful experience with a tour organized by Friends Travel Vietnam. We booked a 3 day 2 nights tour to Lan Ha bay, with one night on the cruise and one night in Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba island. There were tons of activities included; kayaking, hiking, kayaking with luminescent plankton and little boat trips. Everything was organized to perfection, including al the transfers and pick-ups. We booked 2 tours while in Hanoi, the street food tour and the 3 day Real Sapa Experience both of which were handled in a really warm yet professional way. Both tours were great value for money and we experienced a side of Vietnam that most tourists do not see. In particular the Sapa tour was one of the best we have ever done, with a local guide visiting areas with no other tourists around, it really is an authentic experience.
