A landmark, encapsulating history , this hotel is a diamond shining brightly on the bund. It was built by Victor Sassoon, and it is still a symbol of luxury and glamor. We loved the location, it is close to transportation, people's square and the bund . The staff is friendly and they catered to our needs. Their room service works 24/7 which is very convenient especially considering restaurants in Shanghai close at 10pm. The rooms are spacious and offer great city views. Travelogion

One of the nicest hotel rooms I've stayed in. Room service was delicious. The only downside was the breakfast, which, while plentiful, comprised the cheapest possible ingredients.

The hotel is a tribute to history!! Beautiful and very well kept!! Excellent rooms. The service is not that good and you can feel it at breakfast. The staff take a lot of time to bring your coffee or tea and sometimes they forget. Staff everywhere ( more like security guards) dealing with people staying at the hotel the same way they dealt with tourists. Sometimes they were very rude thinking you were a tourist. The hotel management has to do something to protect the guests and to make them feel they can browse this beautiful hotel in peace instead of staying in their room if they want to enjoy their drink.

Historic hotel with every modern luxury. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. It is a visual delight with fantastic food and nightly entertainment. It is situated steps from the Bund and within a short walk of shopping district.

Amazing customer service at reception also friendly and helpful luggage handlers. Speedy housekeeping attending to your request (quickest of all the other hotel I've been to). Pleasant surprise with unexpected and super thoughtful evening turndown service! More than shown in picture! They also make sure curtains drawn. Bath towel hung near shkwer/tub. Bedside table water bottle. TV mount tilt to bed. They just thought of every single detail! I feel more than welcomed and relaxed! Kingly experience.

Fantastic and historic hotel located steps from the Bund. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with every convenience. I especially loved the coffee maker that delivered your choice individual brew. The work on the exterior facade did not interrupt sleep or cause noticeable inconvenience. Staff is able to communicate in English without problems.

This is a gorgeous Art Deco style hotel in Shanghai right across from The Bund. The decor is lovely and the rooms and beds are very comfortable. The buffet breakfast is excellent with fresh squeezed juices, omelets, fruits and many other choices including the outstanding pastries served in a lovely dining space.

The Jazz Bar is superlative with a very good Jazz Band playing retro numbers and a pretty singer mesmerising the fans. Good drinks and good food (the Truffle Fries is the best I have eaten ). Superb ambience. Thanks to Emily and Tracy who gave us a very good table and the bar manager who was so attentive. Thanks from my wife and yours truly (Black Label double and double & Campari Soda)

... Stayed at the Fairmont Peace Hotel in Shanghai – absolutely loved it! Fantastic service, right in the heart of the city. The views of Pudong are stunning, and the rooms? Simply breathtaking ...

The most fascinating hotel in Shanghai/ china. This time I did not stay here as the rate I got was way too high, even for a grand dame like this. Old jazz band as cool as always!
