It was a small but impressive museum. You should definitely visit if you have time. The lady on the entrance was really kind and helpful, she talked in English with us. Many explanations were in Korean but the English audio guide was prepared nicely, I learn many things. It is sad to know that such crimes happened before yet they are still happening somewhere in the world and will probably continue... I think these grandmothers are so brave for they are speaking up and not letting the history to be forgotten.

Wow. This was much better than I expected upon our arrival. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. There are English audio guides available (though i recommend to the museum to have English subtitles on the videos projected onto the walls too). I teared up a number of times because the stories are incredibly moving, as is how the museum is set up. How have I never heard about these travesties before? As a woman, I felt connected to women suffering worldwide, and this exhibit has encouraged me to be more of an active activist. I felt proud that my male partner felt the same way after visiting. I highly recommend a visit, and am grateful for the brave survivors telling their stories.

A small museum, but wonderfully done. The English audio guide is very good. A place all should visit to better understand the current situation.

A place to visit to see the horrors of what happened to women during the War. Informative and harrowing. Everyone needs to visit this place. Let's never forget and learn that women are more than just objects.

This is a beautiful museum that you should visit when in Seoul - it is a fearless depiction of what happened to Korean trafficked women and the Japanese government’s systematic management of the system. It also pays tribute to the bravery of the women and their ongoing fight for truth. You need the audio tour if English-speaking. Thank you for this moving monument to the grandmas

An incredibly evocative museum discussing the heart-wrenching past and present of 'comfort women' and violence against women during war. I was brought to tears, but left with deep admiration for the strong women who came forward to bring this terrorism to light. I am a museum fanatic, and during my five visits to Korea visited dozens of museums. This is at the top of that list.

Very moving experience highlighting that you can really make a difference when you speak up about your experiences. These women’s experience would never have been acknowledged only that they stood up and said spoke about it. I would hugely recommend a visit.

War is a tricky subject, but understanding which and what subjects are affected by a war, therein, more important. The War and Women's Human Rights Museum is something that is important; it serves as a first hand reminder that war should never be an option due to suffering and torment which is brought upon people. A beautiful museum which gives you both a small phamplet and an old-style phone to listen to an audio guide taking you through 26 different stops. Each one stronger than before. You can also support some causes in this museum, and there are also restrooms available in the facility.

A must see museum of the history of Japanese military sexual slavery system during WWII era and the 30 year struggle for justice for survivors (‘comfort women’).

It a very interesting museum, about the Korean comfort woman during the WWII. I couldn't believe Japan did all this to the Corean woman's.

Informative experience. Stumbled upon the place by chance, as I was exploring the greater Hongdae region. Learned a lot about the struggles that of Korean women during the Japanese occupation. Well laid out and immersive. They provide exhibitional audio in Korean and English.

Brilliant museum showing the story of the 'comfort women'. Really good English audio description. Very well curated. Friendly and helpful staff. Small tactful shop. Excellent all round.

A truly moving museum - would recommend to anyone visiting Seoul. There are very few English translations in the exhibitions, but the audioguide was very informative, well-placed and thought provoking. 5*!

It's a symbolic museum of women's rights. You must visit if you're tired of the glorified and male gazed "triumph" - war memorial museum. This museum explains how the war impacts vulnerable groups. Not only explains the catastrophe but also shows how victim-survivors morph into women's rights activists.
