This hotel was great, nice selection of food for breakfast, the rooms are great too. Lovely beach and nice staff too. HOWEVER, they have banned burkini for muslim women which is totally unfair, not only have they banned it but every time a member of staff see a Muslim women they have to repeat that burkinis are not allowed which is totally unnecessary. Great hotel however they need to be more inclusive to Muslim women!! Would have been a 5/5 if it wasn’t for that.

Even if it is considered as the best hotel in the city, it is still a rubbish. Everything expect rooms is super old. 5star hotel should also have not disgusting and paid snacks, and at least more than just free breakfast. Sun beds on the beach should be better cleaned. The view from the rooms is great, but only the ones that you pay more to have a sea view/l. Cheaper rooms have a view to the garbage.

They don't allow you to use the changing rooms if you want to use the indoor swimming pool. They offered to use the toilets as a changing room. Very inconvenient. Food quality of the breakfast and dinner buffet is terrible. Smoking in allowed in the lobby which is very unpleasant View is nice. Service is terrible, There are 2 water bottles in the room but no bottle opener. Called 3 times to room service to order it but no one brought anything and this kind of service with the hotel 20% occupancy. What would happen when the are fully booked!

We spent only 3 nights there but it was not a good experience. On the positive side there are the big and clean rooms, with sea views. And also the cleaning staff who were lovely. On the negative side you'll find the rest of services: - Very average or bad food, it's not a 5* option at all - The staff from reception were very very unpleasant and unprofessional... we asked them 4 times about doing a late checkout and no one was able to say anything... - The building looks nice but the equipment was very old and dirty, specially the hammocks on the beach/swimming pool. They were disgusting - The atmosphere not good at all, everyone smoking inside the building, the restaurant, the reception... also if you wanted to have an hammock you had to go at 7am to leave your towel and get a place otherwise you won't find anything after breakfast. Not the service and facilities we were expecting for a 5* Movenpick option - The beach and surroundings were very dirty, with plastics and trash floating on the sea and if you were walking on the beach you should be careful about not step into a broken glass or something Not a good option to go, but I'm not sure the rest of the hotels in Sousse, maybe they are all the same. This one at least is not a recommendation if you are looking for a nice 5*

We made a deal on email and on check in price changed ( company paying though not my problem), but still im writing an honest review. -Rooms are ok but expected more for a 5 star hotel. Its like what y expect in 4 star. -I cant comment on service cause almost none existing. (Basically military base maybe better for business men only) I moved to 4 star hotel Occidental and it was better than a 5. I dont recommend it for family. It's more for the ppl who prefers silence. Im giving the 1 star mainly because in a 5 star hotel they don't have a coffee machine

This hotel was one of the worst experiences I have had. I travel quite extensively and I only stay at 5 star resorts. And this accomodation was a nightmare from start to finish. I actually left and 48 hours of my supposed to be 8 day stay. I felt racially profiled along with our friends. We are all british but very diverse ethnicity wise, from white, to black to Asian. But felt like we were singled out as Brits. Our room wasn't ready till 8pm, we arrived at 1pm... Our room layout wasn't correct as booked. We payed for all inclusive but weren't allowed breakfast? Unable to use facilities as per one of the many excuses. Just and absolutely shocking experience. I strongly recommend you do not use this facility.

It’s looks impressive from outside but inside I do not see a five star hotel. There are these little details which are missing. However the local people seem to like it , for western tourists standard is low. And the worst …as the lobby is connected to a bar you are surrounded by smoking smell.

Good rooms and service however they had strict rules on using the swimming pool! A sign was put up stating that Modest swimwear was not allowed. To my shock I had to double take as I was confused about this sign! What is it to them what I choose to wear? People have the full right to wear what they choose to and no one should police or ban them on that basis. Have I known this prior to booking, I would have stayed somewhere else as the pool was one of the reasons I stayed at Movenpick

It was a very nice treatment its a big bonus that you can use sauna and pool for free when you book any kind of massage or hammam. It got very high standards you usually dont get in african countrys. Employees are very friendly and the price is more then fair for the product you get. All in all i would give 4,5 stars. And i only give 5 if there is something absolutly stunning. (Also i return tomorrow for Tunesien Hammam Ritual). Best wellness/spa you can find in this area

Very nice, lot of restaurant, beautiful pools. beautiful strutture. Now negative notes are the air conditioning too high, there is a lot of thermal excursion between inside and outside. also the neighboring hotel plays concerts every evening until 4 am, with really loud music preventing you from sleeping Staff are not very kind if you dont give money Breakfast After 9.30 Is impossible.... 5 star hotel......

Good location and nice-looking lobby, and the WiFi actually works great, unlike many other parts of the city/country. Heater wasn't functioning in the room (the week was surprisingly cold). And they didn't let me bring in some food I wanted to eat in my room one evening—a policy I wasn't aware of until attempting to enter the lobby—so I was made to stand outside in the cold rain with nowhere to sit in order to have dinner. You can decide if that's the type of treatment guests can expect at a 5* hotel.

I very rarely write reviews but how could I not for this amazing hotel, all the staff and management team. We checked into movenpick on the 13th May we had a very early flight so we were absolutely exhausted. Raslen on reception checked us in super quick (less than 3 minutes) and we are taken upstairs to our room 6114. As soon as we entered the room we couldn't believe the absolutely stunning view of the beach and sea from our balcony , super clean bedroom and bathroom with all amenities. The next morning we were greeted by olfa (member of the cleaning team) who again was so wonderful and charming 😀. Thank you olfa. Breakfast every morning was all fresh and tasted absolutely amazing. From fresh omelette cooked infront of you to fresh bread, eggs, great selection of jams freshly cooked croissants. We were surprised one evening when we entered our room to find a lovely set piece created by the hotel team which really made the wife smile. Thank you all for this wonderful surprise. The hotel has everything one could need for a really relaxing break , you got the outside pool which was clean and waiters to bring you drinks/food whenever needed. The private beach is so lovely to just sit back and relax. Super clean just an overall lovely beach. We had booked a spa treatment (life in pink) for couples set in a private room. This was an absolute highlight of this beautiful hotel, we started off with a hamam for around 15 minutes, followed by a deep scurb and wash. We were then lead to the jacuzzi with rose petals (30 Minutes) then followed by 1 hour full body massage and a mini facial. This lasted in total of around 2 hours and 30 minutes it is an absolute must do all set in a private room. . Living a busy work life and routine in London this was exactly what we needed to de stress and recharge. We have sat many nights in the beautiful reception to have drinks and I must thank all of the movenpick team, the waiters have been absolutely amazing and what i love is the whole team is always smiling. This goes a long way and really makes the holiday that extra special. Even the security around the hotel has been 5* always greeted with a good morning, hello, how was your day and a smile. The reception have been great and gone above and beyond to assist with any questions or queries. I personally want to thank raslen for all the recommendations and great service you have provided an absolute super star and I cannot thank you enough. Oh and I must add almost every single member of the team speaks English which is an absolute bonus. We are 1000% returning to Movenpick in sousse but next time round it will be for a much longer stay . You have been recommended to all my family/friends and business partners. Their are many many restuarants/bars only a few minutes walk from movenpick it is in a central location with everything on your doorstep. Amazing team, staff, service, food, security, thank you for a lovely stay Movenpick and really sad to be going home.

The hotel has the potential to be one of the best hotels in Africa. They need just to keep an eye on their staff behavior. Overall clean place with pretty nice location to relax and enjoy.

I stayed here in May 2023 on a business trip and totally loved this location. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is welcoming and helpful. The rooms are spacious and modern, as is the bath. The beds are comfortable and shower water pressure is very good. The hotel is a great value for the money; even the room service is not overpriced. The walk to the beach is less than a minute - a quick stroll through the hotel grounds. The spa is quiet and welcoming, offering a heated indoor sea water pool with jacuzzi and 3 outdoor pools (one leading from the indoor pool to outside). There are 3 restaurants: Tunisian, Spanish and Japanese. I think there is also a snack bar but I didn’t get to test it. There is a full bar in the lobby with a good assortment of drinks. The breakfast buffet is plentiful, with an omelette bar, a variety of cold cuts & cheese and fresh fruit or cereals. Also Tunisian sweets or croissants. The place is immaculately clean and the cleaning staff was lovely. I especially liked the balcony from the room. Highly recommendable!! Will definitely stay here again! Thanks you to the staff for a very pleasant stay!

Short comment, if you don’t want problems on your trip, don’t stay here. Would especially advice international travelers to avoid. Background: Me (Swedish, 34 years) and husband (Tunisian, 38 years) were denied at check-in for our pre-booked and pre-paid stay. We are experienced travelers both internationally and in Tunisia with 15+ hotel stays around Tunisia in recent 1,5 year, and never had any issues before. Never had a similar experience at a hotel. Manager arrived but was unwilling to help, he had to juggle other visitors at the front desk with complaints about their stay and the hotel’s service. Very unfortunate as the place looks good, but I wouldn’t risk paying for the stay and then being turned away upon arrival, having to struggle with trying to reclaim your money.

very nice hotel, super helpful staff. Worth the money and worth the time. I’ve been to so many nice places, this is so far the best out of all. Special shout-out to Aziza from the cleaning staff who took care of my room and made my room extra comfortable and clean. Thank you

The hotel is beautiful, the lobby was spacious and bright where you can have a coffee during the day or a few drinks in the evening. The rooms were big and spacious. Unfortunately, we had to move after the first night. Even though our rooms were partially facing the sea (the left wing of the hotel), we couldn’t sleep because of the noise coming from a club outside until 4 AM. Cleaning service was 10/10 and the cleaning ladies were really nice and friendly to us. We had all inclusive service during our stay which was very convenient as we could order food and drinks on the beach during the day. Unfortunately, the cards by the foods in the buffet doesn’t include dietary information (vegan/veggie/fish etc) and a lot of salads and sides had unnecessary meat in them which I didn’t appreciate as a vegan. They didn’t have any lactose free or plant based milk or yoghurt. If you are a vegan, expect to eat side dishes and fruits only. The service was very mixed, some waiters were helpful and friendly, some on the other hand were quite rude and you never know if you actually get the drink you order. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay there. The place felt like an oasis, it was always calming to arrive in the lobby after a hot, touristy day and would highly recommend this place.

Went for the breakfast buffet and we’re not disappointed. Beautiful view and delicious food. Rachid, our server, was kind and attentive. Went out of his way to provide whatever we wanted. The maître’d was very professional and welcoming. We certainly will return.

Unexpectedly bad service, you have to pay extra for many things in all inclusive, such as snacks by the beach, coke, beer... the food is not to be praised, nor is the cleanliness inside the hotel. the waiters ignore you, or at best serve you after 30 min. the sunbeds by the pools are occupied until 8 am, and the sea and the beach are terribly dirty. I'm sure I won't be back again!

Horrendous management. One star is excessive for their outdated and barbaric laws and management. WOMEN CAN DRESS THEMSELVES, and we do not need your antiquated policies. OUR BODIES, OUR CHOICE! Please remove the out of touch management that thought it was wise to make the pool only available for half naked women, so until then you will not be getting our business and we will not return. For all the other Muslims and people that stand behind the freedom of dress and expression, take your money elsewhere. Freedom to wear what your see fit at the pool isn’t accepted here.

One of the best hotels in Sousse. Perfect location with private beach not so crowded. Special thanks to Rachid at the main restaurant and Yassine at the lobby bar. Only remarks that I have is the maintenance of the beach, I saw a can on the sand left at least for 2 days. Other thing is if you order a cocktail you barely taste the alcohol, definitely need improvement. But overall a very good experience and we will definitely return

My recent stay at the Mövenpick Hotel Sousse left me with mixed feelings. The hotel, while boasting a great location, has certainly seen better days. It has a classic charm but is showing signs of aging. The rooms are comfortable but in need of some refurbishment to bring them up to modern standards. The aging décor and furnishings were noticeable. One aspect that stood out was the varying levels of friendliness among the staff. While some were incredibly hospitable and accommodating, others didn't quite meet the expected standards of friendliness and service that I've encountered in other hotels. On the positive side, the hotel's location is fantastic, offering beautiful views of the sea and easy access to the beach. In conclusion, the Mövenpick Hotel Sousse has its strengths, particularly in terms of location and outdoor facilities, but it's evident that the hotel has aged.

Lovely hotel. It is low season now, so it's not too busy which is nice. Best of all, the staff here are warm, friendly and kind. Especially the waiter Rachid. Nothing is too much trouble for him, and he anticipates what you need before you can ask!

A very nice hotel with a large number of facilities and extremely nice and friendly staff. We would like to thank the front office for their professionalism, fast check in, welcome drink ... The lobby was accommodating and we felt like home. The bell boys were always smiling and happy to help. Thank you for making it such a beautiful experience.

The hotel is clean and the women who maintain the rooms are great, but the rest is not available. You have feather blankets, and if you are allergic to them, they promise to bring you other ones and of course that never happens. If you are a woman, and you ask for advice on where to buy tampons, you get the answer that you ask too much and need use pads like everyone else. No one speaks German. The website says they speak German. Sad, because the hotel is run by a Swiss corporation. if you have paid for all inclusive, you only get sunbeds on the beach if you give a tip, because otherwise your personal belongings will be thrown away by the workers and the sunbeds will be taken by someone else.

  • 4/5 Fedi T. 8 months ago on Google
If I have one complaint about this otherwise near perfect hotel is their no outside snacks policy, they will confiscate them at the door and will not even let you take in water. You found yourself starving throughout the day and having to spend large amounts of money on meals that could have otherwise been snacks. This hotel seriously needs to rethink this policy because it might make you money now but will seriously annoy us clients in the future. This is definitely something I will consider next time I’m looking for a hotel in Sousse. Everything else was really great though. Service, food, staff, cleanliness, facilities… perfect.

Stayed for a business trip in July, and have stayed previously for business trips. Accommodation is great but servicing of the rooms is not as good as previous (sometimes water bottles were not replaced). I also have a bit of an issue with the fitness suite in that it isn't properly air conditioned. So if you are wanting to use it, just beware it is HOT!!!! Food is great in each of the al a carte restaurants and is reasonably priced. The Japanese show cooking it a great experience and well worth visiting during your stay.

Very good service by Adel from Tapeo as well as check-in desk and concierge. Always smiling and helpful! Unfortunately this can't be said for rest of the staff (mostly). Service (if available) is slow and oriented towards paying customers (not those with AI). Regards rooms and location - even locals say that the best hotel in town and from the looks of it you can easily agree!

I had a delightful stay at the Mövenpick Sousse. The facilities are really nice (the room, the pool, the sauna, etc.), the location is good, and the security seemed to be on top of their game. However, what stood out for me was the excellent service. The staff were friendly, attentive and helpful, and made for a very memorable stay in Sousse.

The pool and proximity to the ocean are nice, the food is alright, but the hotel is outdated and the service is generally poor. We were told on multiple occasions during our stay that there were no more beach towels available for the remainder of the day. There simply isn't enough staff to handle demand; expect to wait 45+ minutes to get service at the outdoor eating areas near the pool. The sewer water near the pool also emitted an awful stench. Our AC also broke during our stay and we were unable to switch rooms.

Not staying there. Just called in to have a look around. The reception area does look very nice with loads of comfortable seating. There were only about half a dozen people in the area although the dining room looked very busy. The outdoor furniture, on the patio adjacent to the reception area, had protective covers. We cant comment on the rooms or on the service because we experienced neither. Obviously it is expensive to stay there and looking at the restaurant clientele there were many more business men (possibly on expense accounts?) than there were tourists. Admittedly, January is not the best time for tourists in Tunisia.

I stayed at the hotel for a week and after 2 days I was already tormented to leave as soon as possible. I have never seen such disrespect for guests and women in particular. Problems arose every day and to solve at least one simple, I had to wait at least half an hour. Receptionists just stop talking to you and start serving other people. I understand this can happen once, but every time someone comes up or calls, how can you just switch to someone else like you haven't even spoken to the guest? if this is a local person or can speak Arabic, then he is the number 1 client and you do not exist. One receptionist is so arrogant that he never even says hello on the phone and just says “yes” like you call him on his personal phone and then he does you a favor by answering. There are so many locals with kids on weekends that it's more like a zoo. The tables are all occupied, the pool is dirty and there are no sun beds at all. Locals walk in outerwear and dirty shoes in the pool just to stare. Complete sanitation.

We stayed at this hotel with the family. The restaurant staff were especially helpful and pleasant. They don’t talk much English tho. It’s definitely worth the money spent.

I recommend this hotel, as it is really outstanding one compared to others in the Tunisia. Hotel is great, rooms are good, food is delicious and everything is kept in order and clean. One thing bothered may all-inclusive stay was that waiters on pools and Mosaique restaurant was favouring local so called celebs. Couple of times I had to ask for a help of a local pit boss so he should remind his employees to serve also people who payed not-so- small amount of money for all-inclusive stay. Big shoutouts to: Hazar for keeping our room clean and nice Ammar for exception waiter service Two Mohammed on the pool bar for serving great drinks. What I dislike was that on the beach there were lot of debris left over a non-existent Levant restaurant building. Honestly it was not so great experience to walk over broken tiles, bricks and mortars instead of beach sand. Second thing is that local people leaves rubbish everywhere, so be prepared that you may swim with empty plastic bottles, cigarettes etc. Pools rules was not respected nor enforced, so speaking on hygiene level I was a little bit concerned that some women may have done laundry washing while swimming in the pool!

By far one of the best hotels around this area. Their overall service is great and all very polite. Great for families and easy access for customers with disabilities. The spa is one of the best and has everything you need and at a reasonable price. My family loved it and the variety of restaurants was also amazing. The bad: - AC doesn’t work since late October early November until probably February or march. Pretty much they like to save money during the “cold” times here. However, being an international hotel, this excludes many guest from other countries who are used to cooler room temperatures. So this only leave you with the option to open the window, hope it cools down enough and deal with all the outside noises. - despite having amazing facilities all bars are open to cigarette. There is no option for a bar for non-smokers. We understand smoking is part of the culture here, however this is an international hotel.

The hotel is very nice and the service is great. Breakfast was exceptional, mainly because of the great service of Brahim. He was very thoughtful and kind. Dinner was a bit disappointing since there wasn't a lot of vegetarian food, but all in all it was good.

It's hard to find the right words to describe the Movenpick in Sousse (Tunisia), but apart from the hotel itself, which is just magnificent, I have a special place in my heart for the Spa, which for me is the best in the region. The welcome is almost family-like. They'll bend over backwards to please you, to make you feel at ease, and I'm not even talking about the quality of the treatments and the professionalism of the staff, which is just exceptional. I would especially like to thank Nedra and Yassine for their kindness and welcome. I love them and thanks them sincerely.
