Beautiful place! We stayed in Guinea Fowl cottage & booked one of the Woodfired Hottubs, which was really great and easy to use! Amazing Mountain views & the bed was so comfy! Nice & clean, We will definitely be back! 🤩

Very pleasant environment that the cottage are situated in. Green pastures, horses, dam with breath-taking mountain view. Wind is no problem the cottage got 2 verandas, just move around and relax.

The accommodation was cosy and had everything we needed, like Wifi, board games, movies for the kids and mosquito spray. Although the kitchen was tiny I was impressed with the thought that went into the utensils, including sharp knives, a vegetable peeler and can opener. The braai had a decent braai grid and tongs for the wood. The swimming pool was clean. Overall the owner tries to ensure that the guests enjoy there stay I would love to stay there again.

We were here 6 years ago. Loved the farm and surrounds. Chalets are well kept and outstanding. So peaceful and laid back. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

Charming 'bachelor apartment', pet friendly although not fenced. Very comfortable, glad of gas cooker with the loadshedding! I loved chatting to the 3 donkeys through the fence. Enjoyed my short stay very much.

What a wonderful find! The hostess was so friendly and accomodating. The hot tub was a hit! Definitely a must. The kids enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend if you want to break away from the hustle and bustle of the suburbs.

It was a very comfortable stay with everything we needed to make it easy for our own catering.Beds and bedding were excellent and the units neat and clean! A personal welcome tag on the door certainly made us feel welcome! Our host was friendly and helpful! A place to definitely return to on our next trip!

Wonderful stay at this gorgeous getaway at the foot of the mountains. Unfortunately, I only got to stay one night with my adventure kitty, but we'd loved to come back. There were lemons from the farm waiting for us on the table, along with a sign on the door with my name. The view was spectacular and it was close enough to town to go out for dinner, and close to some incredible hikes as well. Will definitely be going back!

This was my second stay and I will always go back. Beautiful area and cottage. Quality linen and finishes, nice shower, very clean, friendly dogs. Highly recommended!

Nadia, the host, is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the attention to detail is unparalleled. From the beautifully landscaped gardens to the top-notch amenities, everything here is designed to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Not to mention the Kol-Kol Hot Tub!!! The golf course is also very well kept and has unbelievable views. Overall, I can't recommend this place highly enough. Whether you're looking to escape for a weekend or an extended vacation, you won't find a better place to relax and recharge than this serene and beautiful getaway.

We loved our stay at Hermitage Huisies in Swellendam. The cottages are beautifully appointed, with lovely beds, lovely linen and lovely art on the walls. Nadia is a wonderful host, who has made provision for everything, including loadshedding lights and gas for cooking.

We enjoyed the farm atmosphere. Our dog was also welcome. The wood stove inside was a life saver. Friendly and helpful host with absolute privacy.

Beautiful location. I loved being able to look outside the window and see the stunnining mountains and the horses grazing. The house was nice and cosy, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in the Hermitage. The framed photographs of local scenery was also beautiful. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautiful, comfortable accommodation. We've stayed there twice in different cottages, both lovely. Pet friendly and the sweet farm dogs love to visit and play. Conveniently located near the nature reserve and forest, for us athletic type visitors.

We had a truly amazing weekend at Hermitage Huisies (Rose Cottage). The surroundings are beautiful and the cottage is well equipped, offering a very comfortable stay. The opportunity to explore the farm and interact with the horses was amazing. We highly recommend opting for the hot tub and the 1-hour (child-friendly) horse riding session (a trail route ~2km away from the farm). A very memorable weekend - one of our best! This was indead the best birthday celebration. The area with it's mountains is beautiful....loved the fact that the horses was so close by.....the house was equipeted with everything needed and also very clean.wish we stayed longer.

What a beautiful peaceful quiet place Hermitage Huisies are. The cottage Guinea Fowl, was clean and all the necessary things in it, the aroma in the cottage when you open the door is so calm and relaxing. The the view of the mountain gives you an inner calmness 10/11 Can't wait to visit again.

Our hostess, Nadia was very much in touch with our needs. The accommodation is clean, and very well equipped with everything you would need. We had a rainy stay in Swellendam and the listed suggestions of things to do and extensive indoor games stored in the cottage was very welcomed.

Friendly Service, Best view of the mountain, swimming pool, braai area! On the Mountain Bike Routes, close to Marloth Nature Reserve and next door to Wildebraam Liqueur!

What a lovey place! The accommodation is excellent and well looked after. You can have lovely walks, feed the horses and even some chickens. BUT what made my weekend was Daisy. Daisy is a chocolate Labrador that will treat you like you are her best friend. Even if everything else was terrible, Daisy would have still made it worth while. O and they have the best mattresses you have ever slept on. Will for sure be going back again and would 100% recommend.

Magic location and super helpful and responsive host. This place is stunning with amazing mountain views and a relaxed rural vibe. Plenty to do for the family in and around the property. Lots of animals for the kids to pet and great swimming pool too. I recommend renting the wood-fire heated hot tub. I stayed in Aardvark cottage which was well equipped and would definitely stay there or one of the several other cottages they have.

Really loved our stay at the River cottage! Cottage is very well equipped, very comfortable bed, nice hot shower, and a bit further from the other cottages which makes it even more private and tranquil. The serenity of the place is amazing, hearing the birds & crickets in the evening, and still just a stones throw away from the town. Can highly recommend Hermitage Huisies to outdoor enthusiasts as the dirt road leads directly into the forest with countless trails for hiking and mountain biking. We walked from the cottage into the forest and around the dams, a beautiful walk and nice to be able to leave the car behind. Great to be able to bring the dogs too, they also loved it!

Beautiful surrounds , comfortable sleep arrangements. Lounge/ kitchen small, and not suitable for people with disability/ elderly due to concrete step down from bedroom to toilet. Had a really great time.

We enjoyed our stay in our cozy and comfortabe cottage. The farm is beautiful and the mountain views are spectacular which make for a nice peaceful country breakaway. I also appreciated all the eco-friendly details like the composting container, recycle bin and spekboom gift.

We had a lovely time and the owner was kind enough to accommodate us in the cottage right next to the friends we were visiting with. This made it so much more convenient to braai and spend time together. The cottages are warm, cosy, pet-friendly, and equipped with everything you need.

Our stay at in the River Cottage was absolutely lovely! The children enjoyed being so close to the animals and everything was in walking distance such as the pool and park. The hostess provided all the needed information as well as Daisy (the canine hostess) who even escorted us on our walk to the berry picking farm next door. The house was fully kitted with everything we needed and clean! Thank you Nadia!

A lovely little cottage situated on a farm just outside of Swellendam. Fabulous location - close enough to pop into town for a coffee or bite to eat. We stayed in the River Cottage and it was a little further from the ‘main road’ and other cottages. This was ideal! Surrounded by mountains and greenery! The wood fired hot tub is a must!! Thank you to Nadia for her excellent hosting.

We have just had a wonderful stay in River Cottage at Hermitage Huisies. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable with a fireplace for the chilly evenings at this time of the year (July). However, the best part was the peace and quiet on the farm. It also has easy access to town if you need to go into town (Swellendam is a lovely town to visit too). We will certainly consider a return visit and are happy to recommend a stay to anyone interested in doing so.
