Beautiful old museum. Love to experience the details of the past, Simone our tour guide knows all the little details of each room and was off big help with the history. Without her it would not be so interesting. Wonderful experience. A must when visiting Cullinun, for sure.

Our guide Simone, a remarkable young lady, provided an extraordinary tour. Her passion for the history of the family and the area shone through, making the tour not only informative but also deeply moving. Her personal touch added a special layer to the journey through time, and I left with a newfound appreciation for the resilience and spirit of the people in this historic town. I was at the McHardy House last week Friday wirh a friend from Cape Town and I was just thinking of the incredible tour guide and the interesting history she brought to us. Simoné is definitely unique and her knowledge is remarkable. I just loved her bilingual presentation and even the German tourists that were there enjoyed it. 23 July 2023 We had the absolute pleasure of experiencing a guided tour of the McHardy House in Cullinan, and I must say, it was nothing short of magical! Our tour guide, Simoné, instantly won us over with her warm and friendly nature. From the very beginning, it felt like we were exploring this historic gem with a dear friend rather than a typical tour guide. Simoné's knowledge of the McHardy House and the fascinating history of Cullinan as a diamond mine was simply astounding. She effortlessly transported us back in time, immersing us in the rich tapestry of the past. Every step of the tour was laced with captivating anecdotes and intriguing tales that brought the historical characters and events to life. It was like we were witnessing history unfolding before our eyes. The McHardy House itself is a true treasure, and Simoné's passion for its preservation was evident in every word she spoke. Her attention to detail was commendable, and she didn't miss a single opportunity to share interesting insights about the architecture, decor, and the McHardy family's legacy. What stood out the most was Simoné's ability to cater to our family's diverse interests. She was incredibly attentive to each member, making sure that everyone felt engaged and involved throughout the tour. Even the children were captivated, and that speaks volumes about Simoné's storytelling skills. We left the McHardy House feeling enriched and grateful for the experience. Simoné's guided tour was an unforgettable journey through time that left us with a deeper appreciation for Cullinan's history and its significance as a diamond mine. If you ever find yourself in Cullinan and have the opportunity to take a tour with Simoné, do not hesitate for a second! Her friendly nature, extensive knowledge, and passion for history will undoubtedly make it a highlight of your visit. Thank you, Simoné, for giving our family a truly outstanding and memorable experience! Paul, Tanya and Elizabeth-Anne

Simoné simply makes this tour! We are avid museum lovers and this was by far one of the best tours we have had nationally and internationally thanks to this lovely tour guide who is extremely insightful, but more importantly witty and kind. What a lovely experience in a beautiful old house over flowing with remnants of the past.

We are return visitors. Out first experience was so interesting and informative all 3 of my children (aged 4, 7 and 10) were excited to come back. They all shared this experience excitedly with their teachers and friends. A real special journey into a very rich historical period of South African past. Simone does a fantastic job! Highly recommended.

A fun place to visit. William McHardy’s house turned into a museum. An informative tour. The family must have been very well off - some fantastic old kitchen gadgets, calculators and a telephone. Watch out for the family of meerkats living under the fountain in the garden.

I've been to Cullinan a hundred times but never took the time to visit this little house museum. It's well worth the small entrance fee. Simoné is very enthusiastic about being your guide. Although she cannot read or write, her knowledge is remarkable and remembers all the dates. She brings the story of the McHardy family who lived here to life. We wish the gardens were better taken care of, but Covid has impacted the whole town negatively. Please support by visiting this museum.

Last stop on our way out of the lovely little town. What a wonderful way to end our day, interesting and informative. But a BIG shoutout to the wonderful young lady Simone who was our tour guide. She made our day from the minute we entered the property to the moment we left. What an exceptional young lady, with an amazing story of her own. So proud of the place she has grown up in. Well done Simone, we wish you health and happiness in your future. No matter where life may take you remember your God given talents, use them and continue sharing your love for history and continue being the Story Teller of these wonderful stories. Warm Regards The Nettmann Family.

The tour guide gave insight into the inhabitants' daily life and how and why household things were used in those days, which were very interesting. She made Cullinan's history and the mine alive. The tour through the Mchardy House Museum was the highlight of my trip. Thank you, dear.

I enjoyed the presentation by Simoné, the history, but it does seem a bit biased, and does not include the locals at the time history, or the miners history...it needs some serious updating, other than that, thank you for your carefully worded presentation.

He was one of the first general managers of the Premier Diamond mine. A visit to this house gives a good view of life in those days. The setting and furnisher takes one back in time. The toen itself have many interesting places to visit and to get more to know about this once rich diamond mine. The mine hole is huge and as impressive as the one at Kimberly
