Great place. We only stayed for one night as a stop over, but this is a beautiful farm with plenty of nature to walk around. Looks and feels like German midlands around Hesse. Really— if you drive from Durban to Kruger, make this your stop. And stay an extra night.

My husband and I stayed at Dusk to Dawn for a friend’s wedding, and what a stunning experience it was! Gudrun is such a warm and welcoming host, and does everything with excellence. From the setup and decor in the rooms, to the food (oh my goodness, the food!) to the wedding venue and experience, to all the little touches, she has far exceeded our every expectation. We had a wonderful time at Dusk to Dawn. This was the perfect place to relax during the round trip by car we did in South Africa. The breakfast is amazing and for lunch and dinner you can choose from the frozen foods and prepare it in the lodges. Never had so good frozen food, like we did at Dusk to Dawn. We didn't leave the farm for two days and enjoyed the peace and wonderful views. Just be careful with the gravel road up to the farm with heavy rain. You have to cross a (normally) small river which can get wild when it rains! It's doable - We made it during those heavy rainfalls in April with a normal car - but just be careful! Thanks to this lovely family and staff for having us 💕

Tranquil getaway. Part of farm life. Lovely hosts. Made us feel at home. Attention to detail and personalised touch. Breakfast was great. Foods can be bought from their deli. Really had an enjoyable stay and wish it was more than just one night!

A beautiful guest house isolated from traffic and human activities, and a real farm-feeling. Gudrun and her staff is always friendly and at service. I would highly recommend Dusk to Dawn Guest House to anyone for a breakaway.

The name of the place is misleading, we didn’t see any vampires. The perfect stop over when on your way to Mozambique or Sodwana and, like myself, don’t want to drive there in one day. It is about 30 kms past Piet Retief and 5 kms off the main road. Farm style chalets away from noise and traffic with friendly staff. You will love it.

Beautiful setting, we had a conference, service and food was the best. Peaceful.
