It can get busy. They have good Covid protocols. The staff was helpful. Service was fairly quick. The carrot cake had an odd undertone and after taste. The mozart was fantastic. Both were light and not too sweet. They also serve a variation of coffees and have a sit down option. The packaging is fantastic.

Okay, so the cake's not the cheapest - but then it's not the plastic rubbish that you get at the supermarket. Top quality comes at a price. But even better - the service! Amazing. The staff in the shop are super-friendly and so accommodating. It was scorching hot in the shop because the aircons were off due to loadshedding (Eskom minus 5 stars) - they brought me a glass of water (which I didn't ask for), commiserated about the heat, and even held the fridge door open for 5 seconds so I could cool down! I was never a fan - but I am now. Gateway CG rules the world. Well done. Give the staff a bonus and a raise. Thank you.

The PERFECT Flat White ... flew halfway across the world to find it ... but we’ll worth it ... and at just £1.35 considering leaving the UK and setting up home in Sunny South Africa! Then the Fudge Picasso Mousse arrived ... SUBLIME 😍

Very poor service from Manager at Gateway store...Zothwa...Went to purchase a cake for my son's birthday. Wanted to pay and pick up next day as we were having a party at Gateway. He refused and was very rude. Needs to be sent for a customer service course. Zothwa is damaging the image of the brand. Very poor customer care skills.

Swiss carrot cake is a my new favourite. Soft, fruity, spicy and not sickly sweet. Perfect with a decaf cappuccino and chai latte.

Pure excellence!! Ok the cakes, shakes and coffee are mind blowing for sure BUT my greatest joy is the staff... I am a daily customer and have got to know them all very well and wow what an amazing team of people... From the regional manager Kevin, to store managers Wesley and Carmel, also Muhle, Precious, Nkosi and everyone else who's names I forget (old age kicking in) your service, care and passion is true perfection... You are all a blessing to the Chateau brand... Thanks for making every day a better day...

Purchased from this branch many times before but my first to experience such Unprofessional Behavior & Poor Service from the "manager" name Camel(coloured lady with glasses), Doesn't even greet customer's what type of management skills are those? or even take her job to even ask me if i have been attended to be the staff. when a staff member(friendly black gentlemen) offered to serve me , she instructed him to serve other customers that came after me first & didn't bother... Very poor Image for the business & poor service...i don't recommend this place.

Extremely disappointed with the bad service provided by a rude lady who served us this morning at 11am when we tried to purchase a few slices of a chocolate cake. Apart from the fact it was not available - we were rudely informed it's frozen and we must choose from the shockingly LIMITED selection. This person should NOT be in sales. She doesn't know how to deal with customers.

Lovely but I think the quality control should be better and based on a fairer system as I bought a cake from there that wasn't up to standard but they only refunded for a cake regardless of the fact that the cake I bought was a large size and the replacement was smaller s do they didn't honor the Rand amount which I felt wasn't fair in my part. Will think twice about your brand not value for money like I once thought

Very bad service experience. We were in the line at closing time. They served the people before us and when we go to the counter, we were told that they are closed and turned us away. Not a care to serve the customers that waited in line, but are adamant that they are closed. All staff were still behind the counter, all tables were still full. We just needed a take away. If this is the kind of customer service people receive, how many will actually want to go back there?

TERRIBLE SERVICE and management of the branch, store is famous for 'closing' well before actual closing times. Staff refused to serve hot drinks, the last 30mins. On multiple occasions weve either had to leave without the items we wanted or were given our orders resentfully. Their goods used to be the best - always fresh and tasted amazing. Clearly alot has changed - goods are always stale, service is always pathetic. Needless to say, we will never be forcing them to serve stale goods and pathetic service again.

Was at the Gateway shop, and to our great disappointment, all the tables and chairs on the outside of the shop were packed away. Asked two staff inside and their reply was , we are under staffed and can't serve outside We frequent the shop on a regular basis as our loyalty points will testify What a bad attitude 😒 So very disappointing
