We had an absolutely wonderful experience of a lifetime at this beautiful lodge overlooking the Klasserie river. Our guide was fantastic and clearly passionate and caring about the wildlife, plants and people of the park. Over 3 nights we had 6 game drives and saw lion, leopard, hyena, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, rhino, hippos plus many types of buck and birds. The staff at the lodge were super friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. Honestly would not have changed a single thing about the experience. Amazing.

We had a great time in the Misava Lodge. The game drives were amazing. Our guide Kutsho made sure to bring us as close as possible to the big 5 and showed us many other animals and plants always having a fun way of sharing his wealth of knowledge. The morning coffee and the Sun downer drinks in the bush are unforgettable. Every day we were served amazing food. The lodge itself is very nicely equipped and the staff went to great lengths to make us feel welcome and give us a great experience. We couldn't have asked for more.

Wonderful Safari experience at Klaserie Drift - only a handful of rooms, amazing views over the river (Riverview rooms!), great and varied food, everyone was extremely personal and friendly, and amazing guiding by Matt. Highly recommended!

Absolutely incredible! In terms of the safari, our guides were incredible and so knowledgeable, I learned so much. Every game drive involved a variety of sightings. The highlight was certainly watching a pride of lions hunt impala's. In regards to the lodge itself, service was 10/10, all the staff were so kind and accommodating. The food was top-notch and involved a nice variety of meals. We had most of our meals on the raised deck which is above a river and looks out miles & miles of the reserve, which makes for fun game sightings between drives. There is a reason this place hasn't received a negative review yet.

Had the most amazing experience at the Misava camp over the past 3 nights. Everyone was incredibly helpful and made it feel like a home away from home despite our short stay. A big thank you to everyone for going over and above - Brenda, Prudence, Justice, JB, everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and of course our incredible guide Khutso. Khutso was hilarious and extremely knowledgeable about all the animals/ birds/ plants and made us feel super safe during all the game drives. We were extremely lucky to see all the big 5 in just 1 of game drives, but acknowledge that this is the wild and we get what we get. The guides try their best everyday regardless. Thank you so much everyone. We can’t wait to be back!

An unforgettable 4 night stay for us in July. We honestly cannot wait to go back. Thank you to Brenda, Justice and Singini for making our stay even more special with your warm hospitality, ensuring that we started and ended our day with their big smiles. Thank you to Wes too who was the most knowledgeable guide, alongside Julia who made a special guest appearance :) Your stories were epic and will stay with us forever! Special mention to Jessica too, we never met you, but all our email contacts from 6 months before the trip to the end, was so appreciated, you made everything seamless. Unfortunately we missed the Rhino but in all honesty, it is going to be difficult to top any holiday after our stay with Klaserie Drift, we miss you and hope to see you soon.

An absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience. We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Klaserie. The customer service that Klaserie offers is out of this world. The entire staff were friendly and frequently checking in to see if we needed anything. The game drives were amazing, and our guide, Khutso, was not only extremely knowledgeable but also so friendly and easy to chat with. The chef on sight prepared delicious meals and the accommodations were breathtaking. Would highly recommend this game reserve. Do yourself a favor and book now. You will not regret it.

The experience had at Misava was awesome, from the welcome to the room and to the food. We were well catered for according to dietary requirements and all meals were prepared to perfection. The rooms were constantly keep neat and not to mention the comfort of their beds. The safari drives were fun and what kept us going was the interesting way of tracking what animal has gone which direction. Upon request a private dinner was quickly arranged on the last night to celebrate a birthday. Quality service indeed. Will be referring friends and family to enjoy this marvelous place

Our stay at Misava Camp was absolutely incredible. We were picked up from Hoedspruit airport and taken to the camp where we were shortly after greeted by our safari guide for the week Matt! Matt gave us the most incredible experience on our game drive and in our first few hours we saw the big five and even a large male lion calling loudly. Our room was absolutely beautiful and large overlooking the river. We weren’t expecting the food to be as good as it was, as the camp was very remote but the meals that were cooked were simply incredible!!!! The cooks lance and jb deserve a Michelin star for the quality of food that was served! All other staff is also incredibly nice! Anyone thinking about booking safari at misava , please stop thinking and just book! Minimum of 3-4 days!

Absolutely stunning and exclusive experience at Misava Safari Camp! This intimate game lodge provides modern luxury for an unforgettable stay in South Africa. The lovely and welcoming personal, delicious food and thrilling game drives made our stay perfect. We have done some safaris in SA already and can highly recommend Misava especially because there is a river which you can see from the pool and therefore we had some of our greatest views right from our sunbeds. We asked for low carb lunch and dinner which was no problem at all for the chef. If you go there by your own car make sure to get a digital map upfront from the camp and download to your phone as you will not be successful with Google maps / GPS and stable internet connection in the game reserve. Everything was perfect and we hope to return one day! Thank you Team Misava

All the superlatives I think of seem completely insufficient to describe the experience of staying at Klaserie Drift. In my travels to more than 40 countries, it's a rare few places that have failed to present a single opportunity for criticism. But the service, facilities, location, and experience at Klaserie Drift are truly flawless. The property is stunning. Everything is stylish, impeccably maintained, clean, and functional. From beds to bathtubs to outdoor showers, dining areas and common spaces, it's clear how much thought has gone into the development and design of the camp, and how much care is given to their upkeep. It is truly a luxurious and comfortable stay. The views are incredible, the ambience is charming yet sophisicated, and the vibe feels very peaceful and regenerative. We adored every member of the staff we interacted with during our stay. They are warm, welcoming, attentive without being obtrusive, and never miss a beat. From waking early to make 4:45am pre-game drive cappuccinos to setting up picturesque sundowners and delightful private dinners on the pool deck, they truly go the extra mile to create a wonderful experience for guests. It was a pleasure to get to know each of them, to learn about their experiences working at the camp, and to feel among friends. Singini, Justice, Brian, Brenda, Prudence -- you were all so delightful. Thank you for your kindness. We are, admittedly, food snobs, and didn't go on safari expecting to have terrific meals. But while we expected mediocre food, that's absolutely not what we got. Every meal was excellent, from the signature eggs benedict to the fresh assortment of salads at lunch, to the perfectly cooked and well-appointed three-course dinners each night. JB and Lance, you exceeded our expectations at every turn. And then there was our safari guide, Matt. His deep respect and passion for the animals and the land in the Klaserie were evident at every turn. His knowledge of animal behavior, trees and plants, insects, weather, ecology, astronomy, history, and who knows how many other subjects was completely incredible. He is much more Charles Darwin than Crocodile Dundee, and we felt so fortunate to have private game drives with Matt and pepper him with a million questions from sunrise to sunset. His skill in tracking and locating animals also seemed exceptional -- we were very regularly the only vehicle to see a number of different animals due to his ability to understand and interpret their habits and patterns. Matt, we are so grateful for our time with you and the skills and knowledge you shared with us. We saw all of the Big 5 in our first three game drives, and having a total of eight in our four nights' stay was hardly enough. We enjoyed exploring different corners of the reserve with the ample time we had, seeking out a variety of creatures and terrains, and being able to "bumble" without pressure. March was a wonderful time to go, with beautiful weather, gorgeous green scenery, and the camp all to ourselves all but one night. The whole experience was perfection, and we were a bit shocked at how grief-stricken we were to leave. We cannot wait to come back ... until then, thank you, Klaserie Drift team, for the experience of a lifetime.

Amazing safari experience. The staff, the guides, the chef make everything so special. There are so many safari camp options, it is difficult to choose, but I am so glad we decided on this one. Everyone, every animal sighting, every experience made our trip extremely memorable.

Still on a high from our amazing time here! We had so much fun on our morning and evening drives with Cujo that we had to extend our stay even though we already saw the big 5 in the first 2 days. Prudence was meticulous in preempting our every need. Attentive service from Justice and Brian. Excellent meals from the chef who cooked our eggs perfectly to each preference, and delicious papayas from his garden! Gorgeous rooms and views. We did not want to leave!

Could there be a more perfect safari camp? Not sure. The service is quite simply amazing with so many little extra touches that really made this wonderful place stand out. The vegetarian food and the smiles of the staff are particular memories that will draw us back here again.

We had the most fantastic experience here! Every detail was taken into account to make our stay incredible from start to finish. The staff is absolutely incredible and genuinely goes over and beyond for you. The chef and his food was amazing with 3-course fresh meals daily. Matt, our guide on the game drives, was so dedicated to finding the animals for us, incredible knowledgeable and even stopped to make us lovely sunset drinks each evening. We cannot recommend this place enough! It is everything you could want in a safari lodge experience and more! Thank you to the amazing team who took care of us so wonderfully and made our honeymoon so special with a private dinner on our porch and much more!

We came to Klaserie Drift for our first Safari and it did not disappoint. This is an intimate lodge (16 guest at full capacity) and it felt like we got personalized service the entire time. Game Drives: Khotsu was our guide and he was amazing. We saw all of the Big Five and then some (Zebras, Hippos, Wild Dogs, Baboons, Monkeys, Buffalos, and even a Black Mamba Snake). Khotsu was knowledgeable and personable. He was good about setting expectations that he couldn’t guarantee we would see everything, but he went out of his way to make sure we did! Food: The food we ate could be in any 5 star restaurant…It was that good. JB (The Chef) has a gift. He quickly adjusted menus for our dietary restrictions and everything we ate (breakfast, lunch and dinner) was tasty. Service: The service was phenomenal. Prudence managed the front desk and made sure we had everything we needed. Sphiwe, who worked in the restaurant and made us feel like we were family. By the second day she was picking up on our preferences and able to deliver what we needed without us asking. Brian was great also. Rooms: The rooms were beautiful and clean. We had a room overlooking the riverbed and saw 30-40 elephants a day from our patio. Remember you are in the bush, so if you leave you door cracked bugs will get in. But the cleaning staff was great and would come quickly to make any adjustments we needed. This was a bucket list trip for us and it did not disappoint. Other reserves/lodges may be more popular than Klaserie Drift, but I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a superb safari experience.

What an absolutely breathtaking experience!. We were greeted with a beautiful warm and welcoming smile from Prudence, the amazing Front of house. Who ushered us into a gorgeous reception area that also houses amazing South African jewellery and curios. We were then introduced to our awesome and knowledgable guide Dennis, who informed us of the exciting game drives ahead. The chef Vusi, passionately detailed what to expect from the menu for the day and delivered wonderfully. The 3 course meals were creative, healthy and delicious. We booked one night in the garden view room and another night in the Riverview room and although both rooms are beautiful, clean and inviting, the Misava Riverview room is nothing short of perfection. Perfectly nestled on the hillside overlooking the Klaserie River, this room has a wonderful view that we would also love to experience in the summer. The safari camp also has a beautiful pool area that also overlooks the river. Our amazing butler Sphiwe took wonderful care of us and was always available when we needed assistance. No Kruger experience is complete without going on a game drive. We were fortunate enough to spot 4 of the 5 big 5, including the ever illusive ingwe. This has been one of the best safari experiences I’ve ever had. Thank you soo much to the amazing staff at Misava Klaserie Drift!

Understated luxury in a sublime elevated location overlooking the plains - poolside game viewing all day. Only 6 rooms so feels more like a private villa than a lodge . Exceptional service from the most delightful staff. Matt our guide is the Croc Dundee of the African bush- his tracking skills beyond belief. I’ve been on many safaris but never experienced finding leopards by moonlight before!

In the open plains of Africa lies the beautiful Klaserie Drift Misava Safari Camp. The food is the best food I have had in a very long time. And the staff are so so friendly it change the energy as soon as we got there. Amazing place best safari lodge I have ever stayed at!!

Wow! What an incredible place with a caring and expert staff. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Wes was an amazing guide with so much expertise and a great sense of humor that made our game drives fun. Prudence, our host, went above and beyond to make sure we didn’t have any worries and that our experience was seamless. The chefs, JB and Lance, made delicious 5 star meals. Brian was a great host/server/bartender who made sure we were taken care of all day. The grounds were so beautiful, the accommodations were pristine. It’s obvious that all the staff here are passionate about their jobs and love what they do. If you are on the fence about booking here, know you won’t regret it. It was an amazing experience!

All I can say is: WOW! What an amazing experience all around! After a long day of driving, the Warm Welcome we received from Prudence and Emily made us feel instantly relaxed. The homemade, cold and delicious lemonade served to us by David was also so nice on a hot day. The lodge is immaculate and it truly feels like a home away from home. The rooms are super comfortable and have everything you need. Vusi, the head chef is incredibly talented, serving the most delicious food. The portion sizes were perfect!! The presentation of each meal is perfect. Vusi takes great pride in serving all the meals and both my boys wanted to bring him home - obviously my cooking skills are not up to par 😂. David is a proper hospitality gem, a true gentleman and his attention to detail is incredible! Prudence and Brenda’s smiles are heart warming and they make you feel very special. We didn’t meet any of the housekeeping staff, but our room was immaculate. Last, but definitely not least, our incredible ranger Emily was awesome. She was very patient answering all the questions from our “ranger in training “, Luca. One can tell she is very passionate about her profession, nature and wild life. We’ve been blessed to have experienced several high end Safari’s, but our experience at Misava has been unforgettable. It’s a very special place with excellent service etiquette. There are certainly fancier lodges but in my opinion, warm and professional hospitality is the ultimate luxury and this is exactly what Misava delivers. Thank you to the whole team for an unforgettable experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Misava Camp. The camp is beautifully situated overlooking the river. The staff are all enthusiastic about their jobs and good at it. Food is excellent. Game drives are well conducted. Our guide Wes obviously loved what he was doing and his interest was infectious. The self standing rooms are spacious, well fitted out and ours had an excellent view over the river. We could sit and watch the game drinking at the River .

The lodge provides a relaxing, intimate atmosphere. The staff were engaging, attentive, energetic, and thorough. Our cozy garden room opened to a lovely garden where we were visited by monkeys and a variety of beautiful birds. An added bonus was the presence of the lodge’s sweet resident cat Mau! The delicious meals were beautifully presented and served on the open deck overlooking a watering hole where animals visited regularly - quite magical! The service was always personal. We were definitely pampered and made to feel quite special. The highlight of the visit was the daily game drives. Our guide and tracker, Dennis was persistent, determined and skilled. This allowed us to observe the wildlife safely and respectfully. This experience was beyond our wildest expectations! …no pun intended!

An all around wonderful experience! The staff were very welcoming and helpful: Prudence, Brian, and Sophia helped up navigate the camp and were friendly helpful faces during meal times. Our safari guide, Matt, was knowledgeable and personable. He made sure that we not only saw a diversity of animals on our drives, but got to observe their behaviors and learn about them and their environment. He clearly cares a lot for the safety and comfort of both the people and the animals we are observing. Last but not least the food was AMAZING, the chef really knows what he is doing!! I would come come back in a heartbeat.

Most amazing stay! Could not recommend it highly enough. So sad to only spend two nights- yet our days were full of the most incredible game drives and delicious meals! All staff were so accommodating and friendly. Our safari guide was full of knowledge and taught us so much, providing us with the most amazing sightings of wildlife. Our room was gorgeous , beautifully designed, clean and comfortable. The view we had was also breath taking! Thank you for such a memorable experience!

We had a fantastic experience at Klaserie Drift - Jessica was informative and responsive regarding booking enquiries and Emily was an amazing guide. All the staff were attentive and friendly. The camp and views from the deck were beautiful and the dining experience was great. We felt very welcome and a special effort was made to accommodate our 3-year old son - arrangements were made so that only our family was on the game viewer so that he could participate in the game drives. We highly recommend and would love to go back one day!

If we could rate Klaserie Drift Misava Camp a 10 star, we would! Unpretentious luxury boutique lodge with attention to detail. It is a beautiful lodge with the most incredible staff, food and game viewings. Upon arrival, Prudence welcomed us with a warm smile, cold towels for our hands and a refreshing drink. She is always ready to answer any questions and welcomed us back from every game drive with a hearty - 'welcome baaaack'. The butlers, Brian and Siphiwe, treated us like royalty. Nothing is ever to much to ask of them; always filling up our glasses with ice cold water on these hot summer days. The chef is just incredible. We had a wide variety of food, always cooked to perfection. From eggs benedict for breakfast to refreshing quinoa salads for lunch and oxtail and kudu steaks for dinner, not to mention the delicious deserts. We had these dinners around the boma, deck overlooking the Klaserie River and a romantic dinner on our patio on our anniversary. Khotso was our game ranger. He is very knowledgeable and just a really good person. We enjoyed our game drives with him so much. 5.30 morning game viewings, morning coffees with a view, afternoon and night drives with sundowners. We had amazing game viewings - we saw the entire big five, lion hunting impala was a highlight. He made sure we enjoy every game drive. They don't rush to get you back to camp and don't place a strict time limit on drives. We heard a pride of lions in the distance on our night drive - he phoned the chef and asked if it is ok for us to be a little late for dinner, he said it is perfectly fine. We then tracked the lions and it was incredible, they came up close to the game viewing vehicle. It is all about us having a wonderful experience for them. All the staff behind the scenes. Thank you. The gardens are maintained well, rooms are very comfortable and clean and your car even gets washed before you leave. Thank you so much for all the spoils. Just when we thought it can't get any better, every day it did. Our expectations were exceeded. I even got emotional when we had to leave. Will definitely be back! Robyn & Tiaan

The most incredible lodge with the friendliest staff. Everything was perfect - a special mention to David, JB, Prudence, Brian, Brenda and Matt for making it so amazing. The food, service, game drives and everything else was spectacular. Highly recommended!

Highly highly recommended. A very intimate lodge that made you feel like family. The whole staff were amazing, Matt, Pru, Sphiwe, Brenda, Emily, Brian and the rest (apologies for lack of the other names but no less important). Food was wonderfully prepared and the accommodations were clean and modern. Our tour guide Matt really made the stay for us. He was knowledgeable and fun and took us off the beaten path to see not just the basics but also some very interesting and unusual animals. We learned a lot not just about animals but about history, the landscape, the constellations, etc. I would definitely repeat.
