What a fun place if you have little ones. Instead of keeping them in house bring them to children's museum. It's fun and educational. They can run and do arts and crafts. If they like bubbles they can play in the bubble room. For those who love to play in water, hey, there's a spot here for you as well.for the kids who love balls, there's a special room full of balls waiting for you to enjoy. My grandkids had a such a good time here and the kids didn't misbehave or shed a tear of course until it was time to leave. To top it all off we all ate Ice cream Cones while taking in the beautiful views of Boston. I will definitely be returning to the Boston children's museum soon

What a great family day to take the children! We went on a Wednesday afternoon and the place was jam packed full of small children everywhere. I would think during the week it wouldn’t be so crowded but boy was it. The exhibits were so crowded with kids waiting to take turns, however the exhibits themselves were great definitely worth the money. During Covid they require masks be worn it’s mandatory with or without a vaccination. The kids had fun I feel like it’s geared more towards 2-6 year olds anything over that age would get bored easily or fly through each exhibit. There is no place to eat but you can bring your own food in and eat in the cafeteria they just don’t provide food other than vending machines. Overall it was a good trip. Wouldn’t go again considering my children are to old.

The children's museum did not disappoint. The three young boys (5-7 years) we took on a visit thoroughly enjoyed themselves from beginning to end. The hands on activities kept them engaged and excited to do more. It's educational and very children friendly so a great place for them to exert energy. Pros: many interactive/hands on activities, activities for all ages but best suited for children 4-10, time block entries to keep crowds down, ease of purchasing tickets and checking in. Cons: none.

A fun place for the kids. 3 floors of activities for kids or all ages. It does require a reservation, so make sure to make one and buy tickets ahead of time. They have 2 sessions. One In the morning. One in the afternoon. With maybe a 1 hour break in the middle for cleaning. Parking is limited to garages, so find one that the museum validates for. Otherwise, maybe 2-3 hours of fun.

Perfect museum for your kids! There are 3 levels of different entertainments. So 3 hours (shift duration) is usually enough to get around the entire museum. Take extra clothes for the kids expecially toddlers. They can get wet in the water section! Good rest for the whole family. And remember! there are a lot of people on the weekend!

(Translated by Google) I love it, although it is the children's museum I always enjoy going as I always find something new and different, something that draws my attention a lot is the “Japanese house” I really like the details and the similarity. Another thing I like about that museum is when they have activities for the children. I wanted to post a review to alert other parents about changes here. I was very excited to bring my kiddo here now that the mask mandates are gone. And oh boy, quickly things have changed here. Instead of being a fun place for kids to learn and play, it has gone woke and yet another attempt to indoctrinate our kids into political ideals. So so sad. Gender identity and trans exhibits for 2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds? Like really? Let kids be kids and stop shoving this stuff upon their growing minds at every opportunity. Can't we use this real estate to teach them about  kindness or the importance of giving back to your communities instead? Like useful life skills! Every time I see this stuff, is another notch for me taking my families to Florida and not having to deal with this.

Probably the most fun place for kids in all of Boston. Your time and money are well spent. Staff are very nice and helpful. We loved it. Validate your parking ticket at Farnsworth Garage (typically $40/day but only $20 with discount).

The staff was so nice and patient, and we went during the 1-4pm Sunday afternoon time slots when tickets cost $1 for each person. It was a 3-floor building with a lot of interactive exhibits for the kids, including water tables and soap/bubble tables, and jungle gyms. They have a free coat room, paid lockers, and plenty of restrooms and water fountains on site. It was a lot of fun for me and my kiddos, and we hope to go back again.

WOW! Staff was super friendly (even though they were working on New Years Eve) The exhibits were clean and of course fun. Great for all ages, but especially great for the woddler/toddler age. The "playspace" area is very nice for young children

A bit too crowded, I struggle to see why a place centered around children doesn’t have room for strollers. Then not enforce their own rules My son and daughter in law took turns carrying their youngest because strollers weren’t allowed. I think had we gone on a week day, it might be less crowded. The kids enjoyed the activities they were able to do.

Lots of stuff to do and experience, my daughter is 5 and this will be the last year that we go. My son who is 3 loved it, it was very age appropriate and lots of things to do that kept him entertained. I was sad that they had very limited tours of the Japanese house, seems like they could have accommodated a tour on an hourly basis but were were told the next one was 2 hours away.

Great for kids, a lot of activity based installations. It was timed entrance, we took the morning session and easily spent a couple of hours of fun experience. Get your museum pass from your nearest library and you get 50% off the admission.

I think I am especially impressed with the children's kitchen. I wish I had a chance to play there when I was a kid. I wish I could bring my friends there and play with them there. Another thing I absolutely adore about this museum is a life size Japanese house. It's just wow. They also have cute Japanese dolls right next to it. Highly recommend to explore this museum. They have so many different exhibitions there including a giant dinasour.

This is my favorite place for years since my son was two about he is seven now! It is endless there are four floors dozens of rooms and exhibits . There is a virtual planes where kids can sit and literally pretend to be driving a plane. New exhibit let's kids dance in Thier own music video and see themselves dancing to the music on a big screen . The amount of craftsmanship everything has been built with is mind blowing . EBT holders may also receive discount admission by reserving tickets online. Be sure to walk the boardwalk to enjoy picnic tables out front over looking the harbour.

Fun place for young kids. Lots to do for our 6 year old and great playspace for our 1 year old. We haven't been in a while and a lot of the areas were redone and upgraded. We went during winter break and there was a creative winter playground set up with sock skating and ice block building, etc.

We love to visit the museum. All the exhibits are so much fun and educational for the kids. This time we saw so many new exhibits. The play space for infants is very well maintained. The only thing is 3 hrs is not enough for the kids to enjoy everything there.

It was a little busy because it was a Saturday, but there was still lots of room to play and explore! My daughters are 1.5 and 3 and could do most activities they offered. They have discounted tickets at your local library so it was only $10 per ticket. We parked in a lot beside the museum and got $5 off parking when we got our parking ticket validated. It is worth the drive in to Boston to go and plan on going again soon!

We had an incredibly fun time here! Not only is it just plain fun, it's also really educational! There's 3 floors of interactive activities for kids, and a jungle gym on the bottom floor. There are lockers for rent to keep your things while you explore and also a coat room you can use for free. They have dining on site as well, which we did not visit but it smelled good!

This museum is quite huge and plenty of activities for kids aged 2-10. My daughter loved spending time here. So much toddler activities are available in this museum built is 3 storeys. Weekends will be pretty busy so be prepared for kids chaos all over. But we had an incredible time with our daughter.

A great place to take your kid. I was surprised you can only do morning or afternoon now. We did 9:30 -12 with an active 4 year old and she saw most of it. She loved climbing on everything and trying out all the science experiment stuff, playing with bubbles, the boats, driving the bus and, of course climbing to the top of the net sculpture. I was a little surprised the museum shop was closed, we forgot to bring her mask and I hoped to buy one there . The staff at the front desk did give her one, though, so that was nice. It was a little bit of a walk from the sterling street garage they recommended but it was nice that we didn't have to cross any big streets and she enjoyed looking at the fort point channel and the Boston tea party museum. The Hood Milk bottle was closed (they normally have ice cream) but it was a freak 70 degree day in November so I wasn't surprised. There was a big room with tables you could eat in and vending machines. They closed at 12 so if you were hoping to sneak and stay later, you can't!

A slight bit on the small side but the kids (between 24 mo and 11yrs) all loved it. They were forward thinking enough to put a limited Starbucks inside to provide the caffeine needed to keep up. A great experience for kids of all ages.

My kid loved the Triceratops the most, and I loved the ship models across ages!!! It took us two full days to watch all exhibits! The fossil of the Triceratops was awe inspiring! Wonderful to see real fossil. What was more interesting was the man-made re-constructed fossil look alike. With a lot of interest I studied the different ships through the ages and their architecture. The rail engines and the construction of the rails through hundred years was also an attraction. So was the space ship. The special exhibit during last November December 2014 was of course a tour of the Aztecs. The re-construction was good and provided a source of fresh knowledge. Lastly, our kid loved the machines by which she got 5 of her cents were converted into lovely tokens.

It's a sad but bright spot; with the pandemic on and occupancy restrictions in effect, the experience was great. It felt like having the museum to ourselves. Call ahead to hold a spot and you'll see what I mean. Be aware you can only stay for 2 hours so get there on time. Enjoy! It's fantastic for kids, and adults.

We had fun! We chose the 10-12 spot and it was not enough! You see how empty the place is because they practice really good social distancing. The museum is clean and the staff were nice! I will suggest for kids to start at the 3rd floor and going down because we had little time left by the time we reached 3rd floor and I think that’s the most exciting part. We will definitely come again!

This is a great children's museum with a lot of playing exhibits for learning and exploration. It basically is a huge indoor playground. This is a great activity for a rainy day or any day for that reason. Entrance fee is not cheap so if you have a large family and will come more than 3 times in a year it is well worth the membership. Parking as anywhere in Boston takes some patience or some top dollars.

What more can be said about this place that hasn't already been said? Big takeaway though, bring spare clothes!!! The water activities are fun, yet if your kiddo gets wet and it's 17F outside, you are not in for a lot of fun once you leave. Overall there are tons of activities for all ages, and as a Dad I find plenty of engaging and stimulating activities to do with my kids - sometimes I want to do something more than them! I found the best thing to do for my kids is to let them guide the pace, and sometimes that means we only stay in one spot the whole time. It's wonderful and exciting to see your kids engage with such thoughtful, well planned and laid out exhibits. Looking forward to many more visits over the years!

Boston Children’s Museum Boston Children’s Museum is the second oldest and one of the most influential children’s museums in the world. For over 100 years it has been engaging children in joyful discovery experiences that instill an appreciation of our world, develop foundational skills, and spark a lifelong love of learning. The Museum’s exhibits and programs emphasize hands-on engagement, learning through experience, and employing play as a tool to spark the inherent creativity, curiosity, and imagination of children. Designed for children and families, Museum exhibits focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), environmental awareness, and health & fitness. Source: Trolleytours.com

Definitely worth it for children in elementary school and younger. There are many different areas and dayly events. The lockers used to be free but are paid now. The parking is expensive especially during weekdays. It is always a good idea to bring lighter shoes for the children during winter for running and climbing. My boys love the huge climbing structure in the foyer.

I have gone to this interactive museum for 4 decades . The exhibits and activities, while a but lessened with covid, are still engaging, Educational and entertaining for children amd families. It was a great time. The museum is a great size. We spent some time in there. Great for my 6-year-old, who enjoyed himself very much. It sits on a great view. You’re able to see the Boston Tea Party museum and ships right from the windows. It was fun and interactive.

Lovely place to take kids for entertainment and learning. Plenty of things to play around with various segments. Toddlers and different age groups games have been earmarked. It's on three floors. Better to book tickets in Advance and choose the time slots. One can take the stroller on every floor. Covid19 protocol strictly followed. Vaccination certificate is a must to enter for adults. No entrance fees upto one year kids. Band is put on everyone entering the museum. Well decorated and amusement games for kids to easily spend a day there. Certain sections are closed for sometime for cleaning before they are allowed to be used. Sanitisers kept in handy. Staff members are friendly and wear uniforms. You can get the map of the museum at the entrance itself. There's lift to take the kids and the stroller up the top floors. Big bubbles, kitchen, sliding, small cars, caves, plane, cardboard boxes, etc., Are there to be used.

What a magnificent experience! Being new to the city of Boston coupled with the restrictions from Covid19 it has been hard to find enjoyable fun things to do with my 4 year old son! LOVE this place! Chock full of activities to keep your kids engaged for hours. My kid really likes the golf ball room, bubble room, and water play space. My only complaint is that their is limited seating for adults. Given how packed this place gets there should be benches along every wall. Also, bring a sweater since it can be freezing cold in some rooms.

This is a very neat place to visit. We were visiting for a conference and wanted to stop by as we work with colleagues who focus on early childhood. While the place is great to visit the front desk staff left little to desired. As visitors we were asked to submit our identification because we didn't have children with us; which is fine but the way it was done was a little off putting. Needless to say, we did not stay long. We came under the recommendation of BPS staff as they offer family programs there.

Lots of opportunities to play, learn, and explore. My kids, ages 3-8, love the museum. We do our best to go on weekdays, early, and have a membership so we rarely wait more than a moment or two to be checked in. There is a special room for kids 3 & under that is calm, and has tons of spaces to explore. There are different levels, with different rooms and experiences in each. My kids really enjoyed the Arthur exhibit area, especially. There is a space for eating, and a place to buy food (as well as vending machines). Bathrooms are clean and neat, and there are ample opportunities for cleaning one's hands. The biggest challenge is convincing the kids to leave- we usually have to tempt them with Shake Shack or a trip to the playground just down the harbor walk.

Definitely a great place for kids of all ages, I have a 3, 7, and 9 and they all enjoyed themselves! We've also seen two shows in their little theater, great fun. If you get a chance to go during the week (as opposed to a weekend) I highly recommend it. Weekends can be crazy 😬

I will say up front as a place for you to take your children this is a five-star location. Everyone was very friendly, everything is very clean, and all the people there are very genuine and friendly and pleasant to interact with. The only reason I've given this three stars is that during this pandemic going out is a much More involved in communication is more important than ever, so I was very frustrated to walk in at 11:30 and buy a ticket for my family without being told that we would be kicked out at 12:30 for a 2-hour cleaning window at the museum. 1 hour was certainly not enough time to enjoy such a wonderful place, but also to be blunt not worth the cost for just that one hour.

Love the children's museum! Even with COVID-19 they still have plenty of interesting and interactive exhibits for the kids! My son will be 2 in November and his god sister is 2 and they had a blast. Plus the museum has put all kinds of measures in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Definitely still worth the trip.
