Would recommend to anyone of any age. My husband and I liked it more than my 2 kids did I think. Definitely plan on staying the whole day or you might not get through the whole place. So much to look at and play with. Amazing place if you love science and history. Food was okay and gift shop was a disappointment. Not a lot of selection for such a big museum like that. Parking garage is kinda expensive so prepare for that too..

Been coming here since I was a child and it's consistently a great time for kids and adults! The exhibits are fantastic- educational and entertaining. Highly recommend! There's so much to see, you can easily spend an entire day here if you really wanted to.

The Museum of Science was an absolute delight! The exhibits at the Museum of Science are truly awe-inspiring. They cover a wide range of scientific disciplines, from astronomy and physics to biology and engineering. Each display is meticulously curated and presented in a way that engages visitors of all ages. It was amazing to see how science comes to life through interactive experiences, hands-on experiments, and mind-boggling demonstrations. Be sure to check out a Planetarium show. The state-of-the-art technology showcases the beauty and vastness of the universe. The Museum of Science also offers a wide range of educational programs and workshops. There are plenty of opportunities to delve deeper into various scientific subjects. The staff members are knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to answer questions, making the learning experience both enjoyable and informative. Not only is the Museum of Science a treasure trove of knowledge, but it also boasts stunning views of the Charles River. I cannot recommend the Museum of Science in Boston enough. It provides an enriching and captivating experience for visitors of all ages.

Wonderful museum! Many rooms with different information and activities that teach and entertain us! We spent 4 hours in the museum and couldn't go to all the rooms. We couldn't stop for lunch from so many activities in all the rooms! Of course the coolest rooms are for dinosaurs, pixel and engineering activities! But it is also possible to know a little about the first trip to the moon, about the first peoples and how they lived, about the animals, their habitat and type of food, there are several species of fish and other living marine animals, there is the pixel cartoons where you can learn about the process of computerized cartoons from Disney! (this room is wonderful! I love it!)! Finally, I recommend taking a day to walk around this museum. Really wonderful! There is paid parking under the museum, but if you arrive early you can find a parking meter in the nearby streets. Tickets can be purchased on site or through the website.

A well balanced museum which includes various areas, not all exhibits are totally science based. A lot of exhibits are focused on encouraging younger children to learn more about the topic. There are some exhibits though that aren't going to be of interest to kids, only adults. The entry fee is pretty high. On a recent Saturday we paid $58 for only the museum, no additional movies. We did not eat in the cafe, but the prices appeared to be reasonable.

What an awesome place! Hands on fun for my family. My kids are middle school and High school age and had a blast exploring this place. Heck I had fun exploring the exhibits! Parking was super easy and close! The food court area was chaotic, but that's to be expected in the summer in a big city. The food was great!

It was good. Our children (ages 5-17) loved it. Recommend planning on spending at least 5 hours to go through all the exhibits, or more if you watch any shows. Parking is a bit expensive, but on par with the city. Staff was nice. You can leave, and come back in with a handstamp.

Fantastic experience in this vast museum. There were so many hands-on activities for the kids but the explanations for each activity were direct and easy to understand. The museum was close to the T station and we spent more time there than we planned, because of the amount of interesting things to do. The food court was not very big but there were enough decently priced options for the family. This is certainly a place I would recommend for families.

Really great joy of science! Even adults can have a fun time. :) Surely very educational for kids too. Many of them include activity wise explanations boosting your interests. Definitely I'll visit again and spend more time. Well organized exhibitions also help to follow the theme. I think this kind of facility gives a glitter to Boston. Only one thing you should figure out is parking. They have a parking lot though...

Haven't been since I was a child, but had fond memories of the space theater. We had a great time, and the exhibits were amazing. There is an exhibit for all ages, and they are quite engaging. Staff is professional and nice, and there is plenty of parking. Recommend the Sesame Street show if you have little ones, and the electric show if you are patient. Cafeteria wasn't bad and there is a big gift shop. Highly recommend and would return!

Had amazing time . The cover science from the pre historic era to the modern space exploration era. I watched the space show which was amazing. Loads of fun things to do especially for the children . Expect to spend at-least 3-4 hours for a short visit or a whole day for a grand tour Would highly recommended it Ps bring loads of quarter and pennies as there are souvenirs( coin imprinting stuffs) that you can carry back home if you have the exact change

If you like to go to museums, please set aside a good time to go there calmly. It's my second time that I went there! I simply love that place! The museum is near from t station (science park/west end) and you can go buy can and stop in their parking garage (must check the garage hours on website). Go there wearing comfortable clothes and shoes because you will walk A LOT! The museum is totally interactive and in the green wing you can follow a knowledge trail! It's very cool experience! Check the attractions before go to be certain that you won't lost anything! There is a lot of bathrooms and place to fill you water bottle and there is a huge place with some restaurants there (red wing) where you can take something to eat. You can save money being a member of the museum or you can have a free ticket becoming a member from public library! I strongly recommended going there if you are visiting Boston.

The place is huge and there's lots to see and do including "shows" which are educational and fun especially for the children. The place is very busy and even on holiday weekends. I liked a lot of the exhibits but a lot of them felt very old and outdated, such as the ones with animals. The animals are real taxidermy critters, have clearly been there for quite a long time. On the bright side, this place has a ton of attractions that you're free to touch and interact with so your little ones will love it.

One of the finest museums for science lovers! Absolutely mind-blowing, it takes 4-5 hours to completely explore. Don't miss the 'Explore the Universe' planetarium show – it offers a great experience.. While parking is available, it comes at a slightly higher cost..Overall, it's a perfect weekend destination for family outings.. For science enthusiasts, it's a must-see attraction when visiting Boston.

There is so much to explore and learn in This building. The hubs and I had fun but I feel like the kids would have loved it even more. Things are typically geared more towards younger to preteen ages.

Took the kids to the Museum of Science and wow, there was just too much to see, we’ll have to come back some other time to spend a whole day as I though 2-3 hours would do it. It is so expansive with things to do for the whole family. We only got to explore one or two wings (closer to the car park) Was surprised to see some of the newer additions there regarding AI presented in such a child friendly way, kids will come out smarter. Definitely well worth the money which is very reasonable so highly recommend.

Celebrating my 5 year anniversary here to feel like a kid again was awesome. I could feel all the excitement and exploring so many things. I loved the show about lighting and NASA. I loved how there was stations informing about climate change, COVID-19, cancer, diabetes, and so much more. I felt the museum had evolved with me and I can't wait to go back. Parking cost was a lot cheaper then I expected. I appreciated that hand sanitizer and bathrooms were accessible everywhere. This place is the Best! Let me know what you guys love here #vegan-ish💋

I used to come here as a kid and I’m now able to bring my children here. I enjoy this place now just as much, if not more than I did as a child. It’s always amazing. It’s cool to see some of the staples still there like the piano stairs I played on as a kid then watched my children play on. And the lighting room. How cool!!

This museum is always fun to go to. There are plenty of exhibits to see and experience for children and adults of all ages. The food court offers plenty of options can be a little pricey for some. They do have the option to bring food with you and eat at the tables. The museum has hand sanitizer stations located at every exhibit and they have hand washing stations. The bathrooms are also very clean and maintained well. If you can get the season pass it is well worth it.

This review is a 2.5 so round up to three. For my kids, this place is a hit. As a parent, it’s an average to below average outing overall. The parking situation is ok. But getting into the lot is a nightmare. The price for parking is not very reasonable. Ticket prices are outrageous. A family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) pay $106. No trouble getting in. The cafeteria area seems to have limited seating based on what I saw. We had trouble getting a seat; we left and came back and found a table later. And then other patrons were doing a bit of circling to find their own place to sit. Reasonable prices for rubbery pizza. They have coke products which is good. The exhibits were numerous and somewhat interesting if a little dated in places. The Mars stuff was nice.

A really great experience! It's very kid friendly, with lots of interactive exhibits and positive stimulation. My favorite thing was the planetarium. The guides were entertaining and informative, and they seemed to care a lot about what they were doing. There's something for everybody here, a butterfly garden, dinosaur exhibit, mathematica, and awesome live shows for the whole family. The museum encourages kids to get interested in STEM through activities. It's also great fun for teens and adults. 5/5 🚀

One of the many fantastic museums in Boston, this one is particularly great for families. There are a ton of exhibits and shows, you could easily spend the entire day here. Many of the exhibits are interactive, and there are a lot of areas that really cater to children. My favorite part is how the descriptions are very easy to understand, even if science is not your thing (like me)! We were able to get a library pass, so tickets were only $10 for us, but even the regular price is well worth it.

AMAZING museum! I’m a whole adult expecting to only be there 1 hour and was sad they were closing after being there for two hours. Everything is organized by color and tons of hands on activities for kinesthetic learners like myself. It’s great that your ticket is basically BOGO free when you use the same ticket within 6 months I believe. Will definitely be back to see everything else!

Not enough time! We only had around four hours to spend here. No where near the amount of time needed. You need a full day at least. Especially if you have little ones as they spend a long time at certain exibits. We didn't even get to one side. Very clean, organized and laid out well! Masks required and sanitizer is available. Look for specials and coupons, the library has 50% off tickets. I really wish we had more time, there is an IMAX, OMNI THEATER and planetarium as well!!

We loved the museum. We had ages 3, 13, 27, 28, 34, 57. We all loved it. We were there most of the day and didn't see everything. Great displays. Many interactive areas. The " Inside Out" exhibit was really neat. The 3 and 13 year both, thoroughly enjoyed themselves, as did all the adults.

Amazing Science Museum! Interactive, thought provoking, and current. Really enjoyed spending the whole day here, best to not come unless you have a minimum of 5-7 hours to get through all three wings. Easy to enjoy a quick lunch break and get back to it as they offer a small dining area. Gift shop is massive, yet I was disappointed to not find a single Museum of science sticker or postcard.

We would give this place more than 5 stars if we could. We spent from 10:00-4:30 at this museum while on vacation, and still didn't get to see everything! We took in an IMAX movie and saw the Lightning Show and the Live Animals show - all of which we recommend. As parents, it was nice that everything was hands on, and it was great to see practical, FUN applications for programming, engineering, and the sciences in general. Cannot recommend enough for a family visit!

A lot of exhibits to see and do and mapped out pretty well. The levels and rooms flow quite nicely so you can see everything. I suggest going through the week. Tons of people on the weekends attend. Hard to see/interact with all of the exhibits.

All concepts of science , force, illusions, optics, Tesla electricity show, Mars show, locomotives, fossils, intricate models of ships, gems, green walk, insect zoo... N what n what not... All were displayed so well. One day is not enough to visit this place. Our one visit was so eye-opening n refreshing. Good work. !! Outstanding maintenance.

Returned here for the first time since my children were young and this trip with grandchildren. Found great nostalgia in seeing many of the standards remain, with new exhibits stood up. The children's eyes were full of wonder, and their minds were challenged by what is there. Personally, in comparison to other museums of this type, I feel that some further upgrades are in order to make this the great museum it once was! .Yet do not miss out on this treasure!

It’s been 20 years since I was last here and it was still pretty neat! I do think a majority of the museum is more catered towards younger kids, but my husband and I still enjoyed our day. The Electricity Theater was super neat! We saw a 4D show as well which we enjoyed. I wish we had more time to explore. There really is a lot to see and I would recommend it for sure!

We went here with a 3 year old and an infant. 3 year old did enjoy it but I would say this place is more geared towards the 5-13yr age group, not that there are no exhibits for other ages. The elevator in the garage was not working and we had a stroller, you can imagine the pain. The only family restroom we could find was on level 2 in the green wing and it smelled awful. I highly recommend the Omni theatre experience, we watched the New England feature and it was stunning. We did not have time to explore the 4D and planetarium shows. These 3 shows are extra $$ on top of the regular admission. I think the admission price is steep but I guess there are a lot of exhibits here and you can make the most of it if you enter early. The cafeteria had limited options, the available food was good though. Cafe seating has chairs that have views to the river but the cafe gets crowded around lunchtime.

First time visiting a museum, and I loved it. The museum has several environments where they show you everything from wildlife to technology and science. Note: If you live in Massachusetts and have a library card from the state, you can enter for free; you just have to reserve your ticket on the Boston Public Library’s website.

This is always a fun place to bring the family. Lots to do and see here. It's a must see for attractions if you're visiting Boston. This and the aquarium. I've been multiple times throughout my life and it's always fun! The only sad part is that the butterfly exhibit is gone now. It was one of my favorite parts of the experience. Hopefully they can bring it back.

  • 5/5 Chris M. 3 years ago on Google
Great place to take young kids to spend the day or a few hours watching them learn. There's plenty to take in at the Museum of Science and I always feel like there's something that I missed before in the permanent exhibits (of course there's new, fascinating stuff to check out in the temporary exhibits). It is nice to go out and stroll along the water on the backside of the museum, too. We like to park in Cambridge at the mall (and if it is lunchtime, get a bite to eat) and then head over. This makes for easier parking, easier departure as turning left out of the parking garage can get tricky, and it allows us to get more steps in for the day.

There was an amazing amount of interactive stuff to do at the museum. We also went to see a live animal show which was really fun. We were a group of adults and it was nice that everything was aimed at people of all ages. We were lucky enough to be there at the same time as the Dog exhibit, which is where we ended up spending most of our time. The view of the river when you first walk in is stunning as well. We were visiting from out of town so it was amazing to see the river and learn about the waves at the same time.

(Translated by Google) It's just awesome! Some positive emotions! I liked everything very much! For both children and adults. The ticket price is worth it, but parking is not cheap. Therefore, if you suddenly want to save money, then you need to park not near the museum itself, not in the adjacent parking lot. Otherwise, everything is just fine, and you can spend a super day in this museum.

The staff onsite are doing a really good job of making sure everyone is keeping their masks on properly and there are sanitation employees cleaning everything as often as possible. The cafeteria is also very clean and with enough space between tables for social distancing. However, more work needs to be put into making sure that visitors aren't overcrowding small areas. I had to move with my group often to avoid crowding in a single room.

It was ok, they kept it very clean. Many exhibits were not operational. Very good for families with young children, highly recommend but may loose the older kids. They still charge for the extra nicer exhibits like shows, etc.

A fun, beautiful, and education experience for the whole family! My daughters are five and two years old, and they had the BEST day! Unfortunately the rainforest was closed, but it's just one thing to look forward to next time we return. The aquarium was especially captivating!

During COVID, this museum isn't very fun. Because there are so many interactive exhibits (almost all of them), I didn't feel safe interacting with them because they are touch surfaces. There were some interesting exhibits like the What I Eat and the museum's history exhibit. This might be a good place to take kids, but nothing phenomenal for adults or anyone interested in science. Looking out the windows, there are great views of the Charles River, especially at sunset.

This is a nice museum. My kids loved the dinosaurs. I liked the very detailed models on display. Compared to the Chicago museum, this one feels rather small. Its a nice place and very clean. The food court looked inviting and unique; it is more like a mall food court. The only issue was the food was not very good and yet is pricey. All that said, this is a good place to spend some time with your kids and family.

One of the best experience in boston. The museum of science is the one place in Boston you can spent whole day and it's still not enough. Different gallery from fiction to science to history. It covers every thing.

I spent 4 hours there and could have spent a lot more. Although the children's museum is geared towards younger kids, this museum has more for everyone. I cannot wait until it opens again. As far as the food, way too expensive for 7-11 food.

We were so glad we got to go before the museum had to close for three weeks (per the governor's mandate concerning covid safety). It's a shame because they have been doing such a great job limiting capacity and keeping the space clean. The new Arctic exhibit is SO COOL. It is a great mix of tactile and virtual activities, and is all about the animals and weather of the Arctic, casting the visitor as a scientist studying everything from ancient ice layers to narwhals to climate change. My daughter and I can't wait to go back!! The tiny trains exhibit is back too, on the third floor this time, and the wintery scenes and tiny details are as delightful and awesome as we remember! The Museum is doing a wonderful job of complying with covid safety measures, and I highly recommend it as a safe, fun and enriching activity to do when it opens again!

I went there with my kids for the first time during Covid, so we didn’t really get enjoy it, most of stuff was closed, understandable. But it’s good environment for kids to learn new things.

The Science Museum is such a fun visit. It is quite extensive, and I have been a couple of times. There are so many interactive exhibits that it is hard to do everything so I would recommend planning ahead and picking the areas that are most interesting to you. Enjoy and have fun playing!

Very easy booking online and iPhone check in even in Covid-19 Times. 2 hour free parking for the members as well. It is my child’s favorite place to visit so far no other museum can be compared to it except!!! the food quality here... Hopefully they have more healthy selection of food for the kids after Covid. It is 21ct. now...Come on... no more fried junk greasy food providing in the science museum... They should provide and upgrade food quality too. People are looking for healthy food thesedays for their children. Please consider this too.

I haven't been to the Museum in a very long time and went with my nephews. We all loved the mirror wall and the Pixar exhibit. We will definitely go back when everything is open but they are doing their best with people cleaning touch surfaces and lots of hand sanitizer stations.

The Science behind Pixar exhibit is amazing. We spent nearly 2 hours in that exhibit alone- we went at 9 am and for the first hour it was just us in the exhibit so I recommend booking that time slot if you’re interested in listening to and experiencing all of their stations. At 10 am when the next group of people entered there were so many kids and people it was too loud to listen to the videos and enjoy the exhibit. We stayed at the museum from opening to close and we were able to visit everything that was open except the planetarium exhibit. The guy who checked us in (he was wearing a Mike from monsters inc mask today) was really friendly and even recognized us when we re-entered after visiting the food court. The food court food was actually good! We were worried about having to leave to eat somewhere else to come back but the falafel plate was okay and was the most decently priced meal of our trip. We were pleasantly surprised - especially after reading reviews about how the food court food wasn’t that great .

I'm very disappointed in the museum now, during COVID. I used to take my kids there all the time and now it's just BORING. A lot of the exhibits are closed, the Discovery Center has been closed since last March. All other museums have figured out how to open kid's spaces safely (1 family per 1 exhibit, frequent sanitizing), but it seems like the museum's policy is just close up everything and not think about it anymore. Museum has about 6 months without visitors to create new interesting interactive exhibits and still there is almost nothing to see. In the Animal Care center there are also less animals to see. I understand that the museum have lost a lot of revenue last year, but it will keep losing visitors and members if there is nothing to see.

What can I say? This place is amazing. The planetarium was amazing. The food court had a good view of Boston. But the lightning was something else, it was very loud and probably my favorite. I've loved science all my life and this is a great place to go if you live in New England. (I live in southern York county Maine so it is a long drive but it is worth it!) or if you just want to see Boston.

Lots of fun and interesting exhibits to see. We went to see most of them but get there sooner before closing so you can get to them all. Toms of kids running around so If you have the they will fit right in with the rest. Good place for families to go together for a Sunday Funday.

As an adult, this is really fun, if you are into science and learning. Not as fun as it should be for a kid. Go with your mind well "whelmed". Some things will over and underwhelmed you. However, I do think this is a must for kids to improve their interest in the field and to spark curiosity. Staff is nice and knowledgeable and the facilities are well designed.

I loved visiting the science museum!! I love seeing rocks and minerals but it looks like that exhibit is a little out dated and older. My favorite was the the exhibit about humans and nutrition. But everything was great about the museum. 10/1 would go back Also the super woofers were a nice thing to watch 😄

Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at the Museum of Science in Boston! Very large place with lots of interactive experiences. Was able to try out the 4-D Auditorium and had a blast! Would gladly go again given the chance!

It was very fun, very intriguing exhibits. I love how the innovations of people in Boston are incorporated. There is every type of science you can think of in there from insects to nanotechnology. You will learn a lot and enjoy yourself. My favorite parts were the insect, visual illusions, and hall of human life exhibits. Very engaging 12/10 would come again.

I've been to a lot of museums and this was BY FAR the best science museum I've been to with my kids. ALL of the areas were geared towards hands on activities and there were lots of interesting things to do. I went here as a child and it's been many years. I'm very impressed. My kids are 4, 8 and 10 and they all were so excited... It was hard for them to decide where to go. Parking was expensive- $30 for 6.5 hrs. Fyi: call if you have a membership at another qualifying museum in the country to get tickets under reciprocal program.

  • 4/5 Tyrone F. 1 year ago on Google
Used a reciprocity agreement with the NC Zoo to visit the Boston Science Center for free. Spent the entire day from (9am to 3.30pm) visiting with my kids. There were enough exhibits and interactive activities to keep them occupied the whole time. They loved most of it. We didn't watch any of the shows. Definitely a great place for kids and even adults.

This is really good museum. It’s pretty big and well designed. They have exhibits that cover a wide range of topics. It’s set up in a way that is very intuitive. There’s a few interactive games etc that are really cool. I think a wide range of ages will enjoy it. There is a store and a restaurant. There’s parking available, is very close to a T-station. We walked from our hotel and was an easy walk. The harbor is right behind it and the Duck Boat Tours go from the same place It’s big enough that we never felt like it was too crowded. Well worth visiting.

You can spend an entire day here. It’s huge! The food court area is a bit basic. But I guess if you have kids it’s a nice place to rest. They even have a section that includes insight into AI technology which is very interesting

Great place for kids and adults! At this museum you definitely learn how many things work around us, you learn about past and where the future could take us. Great to go with kids, many interactive programs for kids to enjoy. I would recommend going on a week day.

Perfect place to visit for kids and family! It took us around 3 hours to explore all areas of the museum such as Red, Blue, and Green wings. My daughter was so excited to visit there as she learnt a lot after all. One of the best places to visit at Boston!

  • 5/5 Sily P. 9 months ago on Google
Very cool place for kids and adults to spend time every day. Thumb up for the hand sanitizer at every door. There are a lot of activities for kids and must see electricy show. Recommend!

This museum is immense with plenty of activities for kids to be entertained for hours. Your kids will enjoy testing their skills with beginner programming, coding, engineering, problem solving and creativity. My family easily spent 3hrs there and we didn’t even cover 70% of the museum. Definitely recommend for families! You’ll for sure get your money’s worth.

This is a modern and impressive building that is filled with countless displays and interactive stations on 3 floors to further learning and understanding. Kids were everywhere, some on school trips, and all enthusiastic. There is plenty for both young and old to see and do. In the limited 2+ hours, we quickly covered all 3 floors but had to skip many areas as well as the planetarium and theater. If you found this review helpful, please tap the thumbs up to let me know. Thanks!

We love Museum of Science! Many great exhibitions and shows! Many games for children! We loved exploring about ice and mazes. Also, this time we went to the 4D Theater to "Tiny Giants" and Planetarium to "Explore the Universe". Highly recommend it! Want to come back soon!!

  • 4/5 nuric 7 months ago on Google
A great visit for the kids with a lot of interactive exhibits. They have puzzles, coding and physics demos. What's unusual for a science museum was the live insect section and some natural history exhibits. I'm giving 4 stars because of the entry fee, given the huge sponsors and benefactors I find $29 for adults and $24 for children (!) to be high for such an important museum. If the motto is to inspire the young generation, that entry fee certainly acts as a barrier especially for some communities.

  • 5/5 Julieanna C. 7 months ago on Google
Great way to spend a day with your family. I can't even tell you how many interactive opportunities this museum has. Just incredible... Multiple options for 4D and IMAX movies. The Garden Walk could use some sprucing up. An absolute must if you're in the Boston Area.

Great place to take kiddos but also very informative for adults too. I found plenty of exhibits that taught me different things that I've wanted to know more about. We decided to go here on the last day of our trip before flying out. I wish we had dedicated a whole day here. So much to do and learn. We actually had to pry the kids away from the exhibits to get to the airport. They didn't want to leave which is rare. Usually they're bored with museums after 2ish hours. Highly recommend it!

  • 5/5 Mark M. 8 months ago on Google
We bought a premiere membership for 8 for a year and it was totally worth it. We've taken family several times, and there were new exhibits each time. The children were interested and occupied for the entire day. The Planetarium was great, but glad the membership included 4 free adult tickets.

  • 5/5 Holly A. 4 months ago on Google
The science museum is always a great visit! I used to go as a kid, and it is still fun as an adult. The electricity show is one of my favorite parts as well as the science playground and human exhibit. There are definitely a lot of activities that are catered for younger visitors, but it is still a great time as an adult.

  • 5/5 Gal F. 4 months ago on Google
Wonderful museum for kids! out of all science and nature museums, this one is really something special, both in terms of the amount of activities and its quality! this museum makes everything so fun, but kids can actually learn and experience much, not just go wild. Super highly recommended!

  • 5/5 Demetri K. 5 months ago on Google
Great experience as always!! The boys had a blast and definitely left the museum empowered. I really loved the interactive exhibit that projects you on the big screen with an alternate ethnicity. Science and art remain are greatest tools for overcoming ignorance, hate and bigotry, providing the investor the greatest ROI for their time and resources.
