I’ve been taking my Husky puppy to Peters Park since he was 3.5 months old. It’s in South End on Washington St and it’s a medium sized fenced park (not a huge space for doggos to run and get tired but they can chase & run, fetch the ball and play). This park has water fountain for dogs, few cube sized stones for them to hop on and pose and 5 seating area for hoomans! This park gets lots of dogs b/w 7-8:30AM and 4:30-6:30 PM. DRS is separated into two spaces one for all dog sized (this has a larger space) and other exclusive for small sized puppies and dogs(the ones that could fit in a woman’s handbag lol)

Plenty of space to walk around & stay socially distanced. Small paths to check out, adding to the fun. Full functional Tennis court & handball or raquetball on reverse side, water drinking spouts throughout, plenty of places for your furry family members to roam, and a nice playground area. Only down side...all the cigarette butts and the basketball court grounds need fixing...but still very much playable :-)

Environment always being updated. Excellent doggie park, basketball ball courts, tennis and little league baseball field. Also a very good child's playground.

Great dog park with ample space considering it's in the middle of the city. There's a separate play area for smaller dogs. The surface is round gravel which is great; hygienic and not muddy but also soft on their paws. There's water and plenty of benching to sit. Wouldn't necessarily be worth a big journey to go here, but a really lovely park to have in the neighborhood.

Cute park, renovated outside courts (although one is definitely smaller than the regulated size). Generally good crowd of players, although sometimes too young

Recently played some hoops there! Great group of guys! Courts were in good shape. Tennis, benches, remodeling the park walkways! Looks like it trending on the way up!

Peter's park is cute -- but it could be better. During the week it is mostly dog walkers (who are, thankfully, pretty responsible). Over the weekend, specifically a Sunday when I experienced this, there was a HORRID group of owners and their hyperactive, untrained, unsocialized frenchies for a frenchy meet up. They all huddled into the small dog section and their dogs were clearly miserable and reactive, attacking each other, and went after my dogs completely unprovoked. Call me a snob, but I stay far, far away from those "meet ups." It is a recipe for disaster. The gravel is terrible and is only friendly to giant dog paws, like labradors or bernards, etc. I wish it was finer gravel or dirt or fake turf like the ARL park. My dogs can't enjoy it because of the gravel alone and do a lot better at the ARL park. However, the rocks are really cool! They love those. :)

It tastes kinda like gas station pizza. It's fine in a pinch but a walk down the road will yield better pizza options.

Cool neighborhood play park. It has 2 tennis courts, a large playground, one full basketball court, and a dog park, right on Washington Ave. Although great location with so many amenities, it requires a lot of refurbishment

Just a great overall park. What can you really say about it? Big enclosed area where your dogs can run around off leash. Sometimes there are lots of dogs. Sometimes you are alone. Sometimes there are big dogs. Sometimes there are small dogs and sometimes both. People will be people. Dogs will be dogs. It's way better than having them run around on Washington Street! The city of Boston (and surrounding areas) do a great job at making these spaces for our dogs. Peters Park is just one of the great parks in the Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, JP area. Take your dog and go find some of them! Five Stars for this park and all the folks who do the work of supplying us with these spaces!

Great dog park... nice size, nice people, sweet dogs. Would rate higher, but parking is tough. Pro Tip: meters are free next to the park on Sundays. Grab a space before 8AM.

People are extremely friendly here. I enjoy watching the little league baseball games and the neighborhood guys teaming up for a competitive game of basketball on the courts...and our four legged furry friends, they're all wagging tales!

Great dog park! Benches, shade, and water are plentiful. Most dogs here are nice but beware on nice days when everyone is out. There is a separate park for smaller dogs. Nice shops and restaurants all around and street parking isn't impossible to find (but I wouldn't say it's easy either). There are also tennis courts, basketball courts (usually packed) and a baseball field.

Great play area. There was a man sleeping on the bench inside the Children’s play area, but a cop showed up within 15 min of me being there and woke him up and told him to move along.

Will always be home to be. It has a youth baseball field, 2 full basketball courts, a full tennis court, a small and big dog play area, a park for kids, and tons of hangout area. So many memories of my childhood here. Also best the the Silver Line leaves you right at the park.

Basketball and tennis courts are in good shape and well equipped. Cool mural on the tennis wall. A couple grassy areas, playground, and dog park. What more do you need for a neighborhood park

This is a great place to let your dog exercise and get some fresh air. The people that bring their dogs there are always having an enjoyable time.

Great little dog park, I walk by it every day on my way to work and it's always full of well-behaved, playful pups. Lots of dog-owners in the area, so it's a real draw of this part of the neighborhood. It's separated in two halves, for smaller breeds and larger ones. It also has a water fountain to keep the pups hydrated. Plenty of space around the fenced-in dog-park portion of it, too, with a baseball diamond, a tennis court, and a basketball court, all in frequent use by local residents.

Nice park with decent climbing elements. No shade in the summer and some rough people milling around always. Totally enclosed which is nice though.

Good active park in the south end. We frequent the dog park. fresh water available in the summer. Pretty clean. The local walkers take tons of dogs there. Lots of fun for our four legged friends.

Its pretty safe now and there is a section for you to let your pets run wild. Tennis, basketball courts. Even a little baseball field for the kids.

  • 5/5 Danielle C. 3 years ago on Google
Very nice dog park with both a section for medium/large dogs and a separate section for smaller dogs. Both areas have gravel throughout and different rocks for dogs to climb on. Also has benches for owners to sit on.

Fun park for little and bigger kids, the robe climbing is a lot of fun. Rock climbing is for slightly older kids and the spinning chair a big hit. Then sit down on the stands and watch some basketball There are also tennis courts and a baseball diamond as well as a separate dog park. It is off Tremont street with lots of shops cafes and restaurants

I went for the tennis court. There are so many dead spots on the court that it isn't pleasurable. There was an employee doing groundskeeping, which is great, but why don't they clean the leaves and stuff off of the courts as well? I'll look for another place to play for thr time being.

This particular park is actually great for individual looking for a place to stroll around, grab a bench or even meet with friends during the day. . However, a some what "sketchy" crowd takes over each night . Caution
