Lovely place to visit if you want a piece of Brisbane history. It’s free to visit, a great place to cool down and catch your breathe in the warm weather while admiring the beautiful and historic architecture. Love the location of it as it’s not to far to get to and how it’s located around the fast paced and ever changing surroundings while remaining true to itself. The building on the right is the original cathedral while on the left is now the current and bigger version. The glass murals are a combination of French and German style (special shout-out to the staff in attendance for the knowledge). COVID-19 protocols are well in place and enforced (mandatory checkin and checkout, plenty of hand sanitizers around).

BEAUTIFULLY MAINTAINED BUILDING St Stephen's cathedral is a beautiful building but suffers a little from being crowded in by its more modern neighbours. It sits high on the nad with a set of steps up to thje entrance which might be a bit challenging for people with mobility issues. Great colours just before sunset.

Beautiful church rich in history and tradition. It was awesome to walk around looking at all the artwork, stain windows, sculptures and many more. It felt very serene and peaceful with the organ being played throughout adding to the atmosphere. Lovely experience.

The small church that Saint Mary MacKillop worshiped in opened up after 9:30 AM. It has a beautiful rock sculpture of Mother Mary and a kneeler so you can worship right up near the sculpture. The larger cathedral is beautiful and a must see.

A Church with no cross. I was excited to vist the Southport Cathedral in Brisbane that was named after the first martyred Saint. I was horified to see the altar. Going closer, there was a hanging horizontal bar suspended independently. Infrint of it was a statue of a man levitating with open arms. Not crucified, nor with the letters INRI. Worse , the faithful were bowing to the mocked symbol of the crucified Christ. I went around looking for the tabernacle. I found it behind the altar , hidden, lower than the altar and cathedra. After mass, I walked around looking for a cross. I didnt notice any except that in the pictures on glass windows. Jesus Is not mocked!

Not a big Cathedral, have some antiquity feel. Outdoor got some modern statue, meaning "Blood" and "Water"; and got some explanation indicated aside. Interesting place

Wether you are a Catholic or not, or a believer or an agnostic one can admire the architecture of this beautiful church. The masonry is superbly made. It takes my breath away every time I drive by on my way home. The inside is a mixture of modern and old, simply stunning.

What a stunning building, along with the little chapel along side. The chapel is the oldest in Qld. Beautiful architecture, sculptures and stained glass windows. Definitely worth a visit!

Lovely, if somewhat small by cathedral standards, cathedral in the centre of the city. Lovely vaulted ceilings and a big pipe organ (which I didn't hear). The acoustics made the choral performance I was listening to very impressive. No fans so can get a tad warm inside when it's hot outside.

The grounds of the cathedral are so peaceful. Even amid a busy day this place has a serenity that seems to block out all that is going on around it. The cathedral and chapel are beautiful and rich with history.

A very beautiful and majestic Catholic cathedral 💒 in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. Very peaceful and serene. There's a little chapel besides it. Saturday - 11.30am, 6pm Sunday - 8am, 10am, 12pm, 7.30pm It gets quite hot in summer though, wish they added more fans during masses.

Absolutely love this church. The beautiful stain glassed windows, the organs and place of worship. My nephew wanted to visit a church, we found all there friendly and helpful. Shop next to it that supplies worship items.

Easy access using the City Bus. It is near Queen street mall and Anzac Square. It's also beside the QLD transport. Gets quite busy on Sundays and fairly quiet middays.

This is a beautiful cathedral dating back 150 years, located in the heart of Brisbane. It is definitely worth the visit even if you are just passing by. The architecture is so fascinating and beautiful. It is also well maintained. Despite being surrounded by many modern structures, the beauty of this historic building is preserved.

Gorgeous church especially at night when you can appreciate the stained glass more! Struggled to get a good photo of the front of the church but worth passing by.

This is a really nice Catholic Church. Something that I was not really happy is the duration of the 7.30pm mass on Sunday nights. Without being disrespectful, the priest drags the mass a bit too long. Especially when it’s a mass on Sunday night. It was just a thought

Absolutely loved the stone on this Cathedral So many beautiful colours within it. Didn't go inside as there was a wedding due to start. The surrounding area was just beautiful.

Attended Sunday mass as a visitor from an Inter-State; Beautiful church and friendly parishioners. Music and the singing of the choir was amazing

The grounds are peaceful and well kept. After 5pm mass the lights are turned on in the cathedral and it gives this undescrible vibe through the stained glass windows. Even against the newer buildings the catherdral resonates strength against adversity. Beauty that has been molded through time that stands tall against modernity and all its facades
