Can't even get through to the relevant department. Called few times and was supposedly transferred to Lauren Women but no one took the call, just placed on hold ( silence while on hold). Got sick of waiting. Sort out your customer service if you need to be in the game. Not going to bother buying from you again. Below is an extract ( bull*** ) from their website on high standard of service. David Jones promise to it's customers is that you can always shop at their stores and online with complete confidence. Their promise is to always offer competitive prices on the best national and international brands and to provide a high standard of service while maintaining integrity as a company serving Australia. These are the trademark qualities that David Jones have stood by for generations.

The older lady with grey hair working in the homewares section follows you around while browsing and watches you closely the entire time you are in store. She does not help when asking questions about items for sale, assuming you are stealing and glaring at you the whole time you are there. I understand loss prevention is important but this lady needs to be better at being subtle about it instead of outright rude and ageist. Don’t purchase from this store if you want to feel respected. Better to go direct to the supplier and avoid the judgmental and biased sales assistants.

Me and my partner went to pillow shopping on 15 July. We went to Myer and wanted to try some display pillow but the sales assistant wasn't allow us to try the pillow due to covid, so we went to David Jones. Giustina was really helpful. She asked us if we needed any help, we said we were trying to figure out which pillow to buy. She put a paper towel on top of the display pillows and let us try. We were shopping for almost 20 minutes and she was very patient. We ended up buying the Sealy luxury down traditional pillow. Would highly recommend Giustina, she has the greatest customer service I have ever seen :)

ridiculous service. came in on a Monday afternoon and it took ages to check out near the chanel dior section. The staff were very cold. I came in wanting to buy a gift for my mom. When they finally checked my product after ignoring me for ages, I asked nicely if they could gift wrap it for me. Bare in mind, this was a $150 gift, and the lady responded, ‘yeah I guess if there are no customers’. I thanked her and she looked at me but didn’t say anything. They were not friendly in the slightest. this service was absolutely astounding to say the least. will not be back anytime soon. please get staff training david jones.

Just purchased mens suit from here. Can not praise Bernadette more. She was so helpful and engaging and was “spot on” with size, pricing and functionality. Her experience in mens fashion was clear! 👍👍double thumbs up Bernadette and keep up the good work

Honestly horrific customer service from the lingerie section. The malice with which I was treated for trying to return an item that was eligible for return and then basically being shooed away to the customer service section upstairs was a whole new rock bottom for David Jones. If you don’t want to deal with returns, you shouldn’t be working in retail.

Delightful sales staff with a very courteous attitude. Gifts for someone special? This is the place to go.

Crowded badly designed with staff that don't care about their products. David Jones used to have pride but sadly now it's just any other department store but with a price that implies they still have caring staff. May as well shop at Myer and save 30%

Decent sized David Jones offering the more common brands. If you are looking for the higher end brands it is quite limited here. Good for shoes, accessories and cosmetics. Staff tend to be a bit scarce so if you are looking for service you may have issues.

I've just made a purchase from this shop and a beautiful lady from Odessa served me. Great customer service and very friendly! Will come back specifically to this shop again.

Going into this store makes me feel uncomfortable. No staff and the few there are are so haughty and unhelpful. I walked out last Saturday as couldn't find anyone to pay for what I wanted. If you want people to shop in your store put on some staff and tell them they work in customer service, not as the Queen's personal assistants!

It's been a while since I've been there, but the coffee was still good. I will go back 😋

Finally David Jones has better returns options! I returned something today that was purchased through paypal and the lady (i think her name was Andrea) was very helpful! She explained that the returns process has changed so it was no longer gift card option only. She was lovely and chatty and made the experience quick and delightful!

Cheryl in Kitchen was A1. She appeared out of nowhere, leaving her another section to serve me. She helped me with colour mixing my mug choices. Super patient and friendly the whole time. Greatly appreciated.

Purchased some amazing shoes from here. After waiting over 15 minutes to find someone to help Sarah came along and was amazing. She went above and beyond so I bought the shoes.

Staff where super helpful and I was able to fond what I wanted very easily. The ladies in woman's wear were extremely nice. I had a few questions which we easily answered. Great clothes too.

Had a discount card that says it is valid until 29/01/2024 and used it for multiple other purchases in this David Jones and others but was denied use of the card for the purchase of a pair of socks. Manager and staff member was dismissive and said they no longer take the discount card despite it being signed and valid until early next year.

I just spent 10 minutes waiting at the counter, all the while a staff member ignored me while helping another customer. Could have at very least acknowledged I was waiting & he would be with me momentarily or called another staff member to help me. Really not impressed!

Had the pleasure of dealing with litiana today- trust I got the name right- in menswear to return an item. She was polite , friendly and solutions orientated. Nothing was a problem. Went out of her way to get efficient and professional. I couldn't have asked for a more professional courteous individual. A credit to David Jones. Vicki in Politix and the lady in Rodd and Gunn who's name escapes me were also extremely friendly. Thanks for making my day

DJs will always be a nice store to visit, and this visit was spectacular. I was helped by a staff member whose name I unfortunately don't recall - however he helped me select a brilliant shirt, tie & pocket square for my buddies wedding. tremendous service, couldn't be more grateful

Nice store but staff need a bit of a prod. I asked a girl if the price on the tag was the sale price (after having to draw her attention) and she said yes. Then I checked online and in fact the sale price was 50% less. She then no only didn't apologise but told me to go and get the box so she could check. Terrible customer service.

Decent size store. More expensive than Myer but some quite nice things to be found. Once again a chain of stores so you know what you are in for.

Last Saturday , after a long research , I decided to buy a Dyson hair wrap from DJ. The sales person who was on the floor , was extremely rude , she had no knowledge about the product and treated us very badly . So , I returned the product within minutes after the purchase , as I had a terrible experience.

I don't often go department store shopping. The staff here were top notch and courteous, even though they were noticeably hectic. And if they didn't carry the product, knew exactly where to go in this massive shopping centre. Very impressed.

A classsic quality store that still has the updated, fresh modern feel to it. Great selection of clothing for all ages, as well as toys, household items and ususally has a great Christmas selection when in season, at very reasonable prices. The make and perfume department is also a moderised classsic, very light and sparkly (great feel good factor) with large selection of products and happy employees that are more than helpful. All in all, a great modern classic, worth a visit if you haven't done so yet. Thank you.

Staff doesn’t know what’s on sale even the sign is so much clear and pretty much everywhere on the floor. With a despised face asked me, do you want it or not? After I checked the sign myself, only 5 meters away, she said her manager didn’t say there was a sale. So the stuff doesn’t even read or doesn’t want to read about their own sign? Lazy, be derelict of duty and horrible attitude. Have shopped at so many DJs, but don’t want to come to the Indro one ever again.

End of the story? I paid for a watch. I have no watch. David Jones ends up hundreds of dollars better off. Bought a watch. The watch sold to me was faulty. Bring it back. Can't have my money back they have to send the watch away. Attendant had to write the note. She didn't even understand what i was saying so God knows what she wrote on the slip. (The minute counter on the chronograph was faulty. ) End of the story. I paid for a watch. I have no watch.

Very poor customer service by girl at fragrance counter, named Sheteeka(sp). After waiting in line, she went to show couple in front of me products, took her sweet time and i patiently waited to pay. When she was done she comes and asks me, " Are you ok?" I was clearly holding stuff for purchase and was waiting for her to continue serving. Some other people who had queued behind me had left the line when she had disappeared with the couple. She had seen us waiting in line and cant even fake a greeting or apologise for holding the line. I told her i wouldnt be purchasing the product because of her poor attitude and left for Myer. The shop itself is not bad the staff do need customer service training.
