After a first visit we really want to return for more. Not flashy or upmarket, but food was tasty and exciting, and service was calm and good. The aubergine curry was super! We then had kothu which was yummy but we didn't understand how to eat it, so we ordered as a main but it'd go better as a mix with other curries. Great value and will definitely come back cause we very much enjoyed the food! And want to taste their crab massala which apparently is amazing.

Great local Sri Lankan/South Indian food in Tooting. The restaurant itself is quite basic but the food is good and the service is friendly. Our waiter gave us some good suggestions and between the four of us, we shared the mutton rolls, fish cutlet, chicken pakoda, butterfly prawn (great), mutton kothu (good), chicken ceylon (fave), lamb rogan (really good) and saag aloo with side of pilau rice.

The chicken tikka starter was generous portion as a starter , not bad flavour but the quality of meat( full of water, probably packed with soya protein to make it bigger!) and the very red colour of the meat spoilt it all Fried king prawn starter were small and presented really poorly on a plate The mutton and special biriyani tasted and looked exactly the same We asked for one of them biryani extra spicy only and we got them both extra hot I had to order mango drink for my partner to cook down the heat!!! The service was quick and nice to us BYOB is positive but the rest need to improve

I get so excited about me next Apollo Banana Leaf. Their deliveries really got me through lock down. We went a good few years ago and ordered several meat dishes. Even as a meat eater, I can say that I would 100% go for their veggie dishes every time. So flavourful and delicious. Our go to’s are… Aubergine curry, vegetable kothu, paneer tikka masala, prawn puree, with a fluffy parotta. Highly recommend their (super speedy) deliveries and their BYOB dine in option!

This was my first ever time in a Sri Lankan restaurant and I liked it. We decided to go there for a friend's birthday dinner on what turned out to be a very busy Saturday night, so the atmosphere was very lively due to big group tables of people. After studying the menú beforehand I decided to go for the mutton rolls as a starter, and I went for 3 of them...but 2 of them would of been plenty! I very much enjoyed the crispy breadcrumb exterior of these mutton filled pancakes! The meat inside was tasty and they were nice and filling! For my main I decided to have the mutton string hopper fry which is fried shredded noodles cooked with vegetables, spices and mutton. I found it to be nice, albeit a bit dry but the flavours, spices and kick of chili heat was there, a nice dish! I've decided to give it 4 stars as we waited nearly an hour and a half for our food! I know it was ridiculously busy but from what I could see the food is quite easy to knock up and send out...maybe their menú is a bit too big considering they have an Indian menú also. Friendly and patient staff! Worth a visit if you enjoy your Sri Lankan food and value for money.

Loved our dinner here tonight. Highlights were the incredible onion bahji and the saag mutton curry.

The way their staff treated my partner was unacceptable. We came with 15 friends to have a nice meal. From the very beginning we felt rushed. The food was ok, nothing special and not too hot but the worst was the staff behaviour. My partner's fish arrived burned and we wanted to exchange it for sth else and the waiter became super rude and treated my partner without respect. They took the fish away and left my partner with no food, no one offered a new fish or a different dish or even an apology!! How disrespectful. We all couldn't wait to leave that place as it was extremely noisy and we didn't feel welcome. I won't come back!

Wasn’t expecting much when I came here but wow! Wow wow! So different to your normal curry house. Food was wholesome and homemade feel, clearly family run place which I love. 10/10

Rude, inattentive, pretentious service. Worthless food, £9.79 for the “fish fry”???? A burnt one slice of tilapia ( which actually tasted like coal). Avoid this place at all cost. Btw, I have not left the place at the time of this review, so I might get worse.

Had my wedding meal here. Unbelievable food, excellent service and the best night all round! My wife left me last week but I can't take that away from the restaurant. Would highly recommend!

Excellent Sri Lankan food. I’ve been coming here for the best part of 20 years. Nothing much has changed - thankfully- including the legendary decor. Outstanding value, and no corkage charge, although the rice portions are now weirdly expensive.

Nice food but I can't in good faith endorse a portion of rice for over £5... The prices have increased substantially since the photos above were taken. Theres plenty of better value options in tooting.

Westernised Srilankan Food. Many Srilankan and South Indian Restaurants in Tooting but we chose this because it was the first one when we were walking from the hotel. Disappointed by the name, few to mention pepper chicken was prepared with coconut milk. Mutton roll and Kothu parota were the Srilankan traditional dishes but not the best in Apollo. Staffs were friendly.

4-star food. 3-star service. There's informal and then there's "you need to be gone within the hour" on a Saturday evening when we didn't have a booking so were stuck on a random table at the back of the restaurant. I didn't mind. I love the unpretentiousness of Tooting curry places. Anywhere else in London and the Apollo would be a tatty, badly decorated gem. In Tooting? There are better places with better service. I'd still recommend a visit, but don't go out of your way. They don't think they need your custom.

Went for dinner with my friends on a Sunday, the atmosphere is calm and unpretentious. The workers appear to be the owners so the service is personal, detailed and friendly. We had dosas and a few Curries all delicious 😋. The music was tasteful not too loud or distracting. The aubergine curry with parota is a must! As well as the dosas. We loved that there's 30% off dining in on some evenings. Absolutely recommend! The value and quality is unmatched.

I love coming here, it’s classic Tooting eatery and their Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi is as delicious as it was 10 years ago! There’s a reason this restaurant has survived this many years, and it’s definitely up there amongst the best curry houses in the area. From the outside you may be a bit unsure as the decor hasn’t changed in a while and it’s not trendy looking, but definitely try it if you want a friendly, casual place with tasty food. They also have crazy 30% discounts part of the week so it’s really affordable.

Awful experience. This was my second visit to the restaurant, we decided to come for a mid week meal as the restaurant had advertised “up to 50% off” all over their website and Instagram. See photos. My mutton roll start arrived and I cut into it to find a large HAIR baked into it. I politely notified the waiter, who picked the roll up off my plate with his hands and took it away, zero apology. I was brought a new roll, again no apology for the hair. The bill came at the end of the meal, not only was the mutton roll not deducted from the bill, there was also no discount. We asked about this only to be told that they were not doing any promotion?? Even if this was the case, their website also states that they offer 15% off sun-thurs 17.30-22:30. But nothing was deducted, So why is it all over their Instagram and website?!? Terrible and unhygienic experience, will not be returning.

Always superb. Especially the aubergine curry - deep fried first then curried. Licensed/ BYOB

Excellent food! Expect spice, coconuts and lots of flavour. It's a BYOB or buy there. If you're visiting on a Friday or Saturday make sure you book as it gets very busy. The mutton rolls are amazing.

Food quality excellent We visited Monday 29 August (bank holiday ) and while arriving late for lunch we felt that they were keen to get everyone out by the 3.00pm closing time

Top restaurant in Tooting Broadway. Great service, always with a smile and a BYOB rule which makes the prices very reasonable and super portions too. Highly recommend CHECKEN MASALA DOSA, delicious, but do ask for it to be crispy.

Quick lunch here, I was the only customer. Had the friend kothu (or maybe it was hopper) and some mutton rolls. Everything was tasty and non-greasy but this seems like a better place for dinner with a group.
