The
Hilton
London
Croydon
hotel
is
a
pretty
bland
sort
of
building
from
the
outside
and
the
theme
is
repeated
inside.
For
some
reason
they
had
3
service
staff
on
reception,
two
were
casually
chatting
with
a
customer
and
a
third
was
dealing
with
what
was
almost
a
queue
to
register.
They
also
have
the
reception
desk
closed
off
with
a
Perspex
screen
-
fine
but
it
left
no
space
to
actually
write
on
the
registration
form
(
and
I
found
myself
wondering
why
we
had
to
complete
a
registration
form
anyway,
seemed
so
dated?).
The
security
on
the
lifts
was
tight,
you
have
to
swipe
your
card
across
a
panel
before
the
lift
will
function
-
all
a
bit
weird
and
I'm
ashamed
to
say,
I
had
to
get
help
from
a
couple
of
kids
who
had
entered
the
lift.
I
was
annoyed
to
find
out
that
parking
was
an
additional
£9.00
per
night
-
I
had
emailed
the
hotel
and
phoned
ahead
to
confirm
parking
was
available
and
nothing
had
been
mentioned.
All
I
got
back
from
my
email
asking
whether
parking
would
be
available
was
a
very
abrupt
"it's
on
a
first
come
first
serve
basis",
which
frankly,
considering
I
was
driving
from
the
South
some
80
miles
to
the
hotel
and
had
no
idea
of
the
area
(Croydon
is
a
dump),
was
to
say
the
least
unnerving.
Breakfast
was
fine
but
by
8am
the
food
was
looking
a
bit
shrivelled
up.
The
rooms
were
pleasantly
bland
but
the
loo
had
not
loo
brush?
The
heating
in
the
room
was
set
for
25C
and
would
not
be
altered,
so
it
soon
became
a
tad
stuffy.
I
could
have
requested
someone
come
up
to
sort
it
out
but
I
was
tired
and
let
it
slide.
The
main
entrance
leads
directly
onto
the
lounge
and
then
to
the
breakfast/dining
room.
I
can't
say
that
I
thought
the
decor
was
up
to
much,
bland,
inoffensive
bordering
on
dull
-
the
breakfast
room
reminded
me
more
of
IKEA
than
a
reputed
hotel.
Overall
I
can't
say
it
was
bad
but
certainly
uninspiring...
