As we thought that the dust had settled on the seven wonders of the world, a visit to this South London temple blows the debate wide open. It’s labyrinthian passages and tasteful plastic foliage bring to mind the mausoleums of distant lands, once the reserve of pharaohs and Kings. If Rome wasn’t built in a day, then surely neither was the Sanderstead Wine Cellar. It’s an accomplishment not just of suburban franchise convenience stores but dare I say, of humanity itself. With a wider array of delicatessen then Harrods and interior design to beat the V&A, it’s a must visit for anyone in the vicinity of London. Nay, of Europe. Frankly, it should be considered daylight robbery that the owners don’t levy an entry fee. God knows it deserves it. My only hope that is, in writing this review, I do not spoil this unspoiled gem for shoppers and snackers and holiday packers to come. I love you, Sanderstead Wine Cellar.

Always a nice welcome. Staff always ready to help. Lovely shop lives up to it name as food is always fresh ready to eat. Loose veg & friut so ideal if you only want small quanities & no plastic! And the choice of drink ! Well where do you start! Wines are chosen by a pro at really good prices, so go along to the saturday tasting and see! All in all much nicer than the Branded supermarkets as they stick to good old fashioned customer service & have a great sense of humour!

I have never been disappointed by this shop! You can find pretty much anything that you will find in a supermarket. Baby food, 10kg rice bags, meat, Indian spice, a wide range of snacks, frozen foods, fresh vegetables, fruits, big bags of onions for great prices, curry leaves, dosa batter.. anything! And of course it’s an off-licence!

Kawsi cashier- no good at all. many times I have had to pay a lot more than I should. e.g. I bought 3 beers and paid for the 5th, I had to come back and ask for my money back. watch out for this place.

ASK FOR A RECEIPT AND CHECK IT. The store itself is fine, lots of selection, reasonably priced and sometimes cheaper than Tesco, most of the staff are nice. However whenever I go here I cannot trust my bill to be accurate, most offers never reflect on the till. Having to ask for an itemised receipt now to check. The older lady seems to be worst at over charging.

Brilliant shop, we've been shopping here for over 15yrs, wide range of fruit and veg, amazing wine selection and staff are really helpful, especially the lady behind the counter always smiling.

Always has a great and broad selection of groceries, wines and beers... and crucially always pleasant and helpful... despite some horrible customers I've seen in there. Keep going! 🙌🏾

Stock pretty much all the essentials, as well great fruit and veg and fully stocked off licence for alcohols. Are open nearly all of the time and always been super helpful. Also do evri pick up and drop off.

The wine cellar is a gem for the locals. Great people, wide variety of products and always good prices. Staff are always friendly to me and my children going above and beyond to help.

Go here all the time. Really nice staff, open early morning and until late night almost 365 days a year! Even open on Christmas Day! Very good selection of food and drink. Very reasonable prices. Has all your local grocery shop would and much more. They get fresh fruit and veg delivered every morning and a wide selection of household essentials as well. Pretty much a one stop shop and also has a free to use cash machine inside. Any time we run out of milk or bread and it's almost 11pm (happens more often than you think...got me thinking I need to organise my life a bit better!) I'm there in a flash! The staff put in a lot of hard work and it pays off.

Best bottle shop for craft beer and real ales in the area. Recently started stocking large range of Samuel Smith ales, which are all excellent and not available anywhere else locally. Very good for fresh fruit and vegetables, especially exotic varieties. Very good service too.

Absolutely fabulous shop. The range of wine and beers is fantastic. Thier vegetables and fruits are fresh and the box of indian mangoes was the best I've ever tasted. If this shop doesn't have what you want then I'd be surprised. But if they dont then just talk to the brilliant staff and it will be on the shelf within days. Tesco local can never compete with this gem of a store🍒🍒🍒

At first glance inside the shop seems small, until you discover the huge section through a small doorway. Great range of good and reasonable prices. It also has a free to use cash machine which is great.

Watch out for the older lady cashier, she will always overcharge, this happened once and I thought it could be an error, but its almost every time so watch the till

The lady usually on the till is miserable and can only just about speak English. Very rude to deal with. Trying to use the post office or electric top up here is hard work. If you have similar experience, make sure you report them to the delivery companies and PayPoint for electric. If they can't provide the service, then it's better it's taken away so we don't waste our time going to them. Besides that, I stopped buying food and drinks from them after having a taste of a gone off Mars Milkshake that I bought there. Absolute shambles. Tesco is just around the corner, and you won't need a translator to speak to staff.

1 of the worst shop in Croydon i think .. the attitude of those 2 old ladies there in till and that knobhead guy called manager is so disgusting .. i think they havent got a clue how it is to work with costumer and maintain the costumer service at the top level .. otherwise as shop it does have a lot of things but those people i mention over there need to be kicked out asap

Great produce selection alongside a great selection of wine and beer. However the recent addition of an Evri returns machine has lead to a few very unpleasant exchanges with one cashier in particular - as a friendly regular I don't expect plain rudeness when requiring some assistance. Won't be returning for parcel services as a result, and with Tesco up the road I hope they do take customer relations seriously.

A long established and excellent local shop selling wine, beers, foodstuffs and much more with good and friendly service. Definitely worth trying if you've not been there before!

Does what is says in the name very good wine deals and food offers. Support your local shops and this one is a gem!

I’ve lived in this area for a few years now and only recently discovered this place. Small but good selection of exotic fruit and veg at a reasonable price I pop in weekly now to see what they have in new 😃
