If you are willing to treat yourself to the best Rasgullas in Kolkata, then this is your ultimate destination. Regarded as the inventors of Rasgulla, this small shop is located near Sovabazar area of North Kolkata. Apart from delicious Rasgullas, you will also find many other Bengali sweets, which are definitely worth giving a try. I would surely recommended this sweet shop to anyone who has a sweet-tooth. 👍

Sweet shop by Nobin Chandra Das Inventor of Rossogolla. He was a notable Bengali confectioner, entrepreneur, businessman and Bengali cultural icon of the second half of 19th century and early 20th century. Widely known as the creator of the iconic Bengali sweetmeat "Rossogolla"a popular limerick of 19th-century Bengal labeled him as the "Columbus of Rossogolla".

Nobin Chandra das was the founder of Rosogolla. His Son K.C.Das created the brand of it & opened the store name as 'K.C.DAS'. This sweet shop is famous for his authentic Rosogolla, others sweets are also good. The Price of sweets are minimal for their customers.

It's a good destination for Sweet lovers. You can taste Rosogolla, Keshar Rosogolla, Gulab jamun, Peshwari, Nikhuti, Noboborshika, Jalbhara, Channar Toast, Butter Scotch Sandesh, Golapbhog and many more delicious sweets. Price is comparitively reasonable. Tried Rosogolla and Gulab Jamun. Taste is really good. Staffs are maintaining hygiene. Seating arrangements are not there. UPI payment is accepted here.

I rate it 3.5 , because of their today's sweets quality. (03/03/2020). Okey at the first I told that, Mr Nobin chandra Das was father of bengali sweet's rasogolla. Bagbazar is a very famous area for rosogolla. and Nabin chandra das sweet's shop is most popular shop in bagbazar. they are popular and they are famous , known for their sweet's quality, rosogolla's quality. Quality and teaste is a big matter for everyone. But now days they are not noticing on their sweet's quality, They're selling 2,3 day' old sweet's. And it's quality not good. It teaste like normal sweet's not too good, It does not feel that sweet's like before they are selling... That's the only I want to talk about them Keep the tradition of old days ... Nabin Chandra das shop wasn't like before now days. Thats it.

They might have invented the rasagulla but their product cannot live up to the hype. Doesn't taste good.

What a joke this particular shop has turned into ! Days old Kalojaam , with a pungent taste being sold nonchalantly. We got saved only by reading an old review out here , where it's mentioned that the sweets gave them a bad bout of food poisoning. Pity , I read the reviews only after taking the sweets back home. Dont get fooled by that 4.3 * review before you walk in .

I did not have the option of giving zero. So had to give 1. Cost of sweets exorbitantly high. Taste not very different from those of any ordinary shop. The most astonishing part is charged Rs 4 for a low quality tissue carry bag. May be due to the brand name they are looting customers.

After seeing all the other people's review I dont know what good is there in that sweets. We have brought Rosogolla of 15/-. The size of the rosogolla is like a 5/- rosogolla and the flavour is the worst. We brought rajbhog 32/- pc. The flavour of the sweet is like a 2 days old sweets.

Just ruining the name of their ancestors... I bought a jolvora, which costs rs 40 , but it was just a plain raw sandesh! There was no syrup in it! When I asked about it, they said, the syrup was dried because of AC! Like seriously! And the rasogolla was below average.

I brought sweets with high hopes but even a normal roadside shop can make much better sweets. The price are too too too much and the sweets tastes like hail. And moreover they cheated me by giving less number of sweets. I don't know how a shop can sell such sweets in the name of the father of Rosogolla which is a great shame for us. Moreover using the shop name as Nobin Chandra Sen they are selling sweets of K.C Das. I think the shop owners should be sued immediately.

So I had two items of Rosogolla and honestly speaking I did not like them at all. Some off smell was coming out of them as if it was not fresh. This is my personal opinion based on the smell and taste.

I visited this shop after a photowalk in Kumartuli. Very good sweet Shop and with many varieties of sweets. Though the Mishti Doi seems a little bit like Mother Dairy style which seems to be an artificial not original. Also, my friend from Delhi bought different Bengali sweets from there and she and her family loved it. One fact : Nobin Chandra Das is the inventor of Roshogolla. As a result, their shop is famous for Roshogolla.

It's a small shop. First day I bought rosogolla from there. But it was very bad. Next day when I went there and complained the same, they apologised for the same and again gave me rosogolla. That time it was good. I am really impressed about their behaviour & hospitality. They maintain the hygiene.

Not much impressed with this sweet shop. All packed sweets have K C Das branding, even the shopkeeper and worker was also wearing K C Das dress and cap. Before this shop I went to K C Das so I got it that branding, dress and cap are from K C Das. I felt that I wasted my time going to the Nobin Chandra Das sweet shop. The sweets were ok and the same taste which K C Das has.

Famous Sweets from one of the authentic shop ... "Nobin Chandra Sen" The famous sweet shop "Nobin Chandra Das" This shop is located at North of Kolkata on Jatindra Mohan Avenue and just before the takeoff point of Bhupen Bose Avenue. If one intends to come to this famous confectionary may catch metro rail - reach Sovabazar Metro Station and from there it is about a 400 metre walk. Many public conveyances/ taxis are available from Esplanade / Shyambazar. From Howrah one may avail of ferry service ,cross Ganga, to Bagbazar Launch Ghat and therefrom it is less than 20 minutes walk. It was so exciting to find such high class sweet shop near at hand, we did not think twice - entered the shop and started with big size "Rosogolla" followed by "Sandesh" & just to change sweet mouth one "Singara" (Samosa) and then again took "Malpoa" and finished with "Rosogolla" No, there was no ill effect afterwards. Costs were reasonable also. Late Nobin Chandra Das was inventor of famous "Rosogolla" and that is why he was also known as "Columbus of Rosogolla". His son Late K C Das expanded the confectionary to a great height. Everybody knows that sweets of West Bengal are famous and if anybody want to taste good sweets may reach "Nobin Chandra Sen". There is no seating arrangement and one has to eat sweets standing in the airconditioned shop or take the parcel to home or elsewhere......

Absolutely not worthy. 32 rupees for one Rosogolla. Which is more or less tasteless and stale. Not recommended. Over priced.

Exorbitant price with a very average quality sweets(e.g. 8 small sized sweets cost 300). Only good thing is location of the shop. I suggest you not go there unless feel pressured.

Bad smell as soon as I entered the shop. Overpriced sweets and bad taste. Just go to places like Haldiram or Bhikharam.
