I go to this location because it's close otherwise id go to other locations. Not all but a couple staff members are rude and disrespectful. If you hate your job that much then maybe look into something else. When your first point of contact to your customers it's up to you to set their mood for their visit and when you have a dirty look every time and don't speak it tends to be remembered. I've never seen staff clean the tanning beds but one time saw it done for a lady whether it's their job to do it or not, they absolutely should have to after each customer. It's not guaranteed the customer did it good enough or even at all. Very unsanitary and doesn't look good. Plus there should be small garbage cans in with each tanning bed. It's very wasteful not having a garbage because one more paper towels are being used to wrap up the dirty ones that we have to clean the beds with and half the time the beds don't get cleaned because nobody wants to do that. I understand that there's a garbage can in the middle of all the tanning beds but that's not how it should be. I've been to multiple other locations and they all have garbage cans in their tanning bedrooms to discard the dirty paper towels for cleaning the beds. Also you need more purple Tootsie rolls lol.

This location has extremely poor member service. We are not allowed to pay yearly fees anymore. It has to be debited from your checking account each month. There is zero trust that this will be executed properly. When I talked to Shania, the manager, she said she looked into this and nothing could be done. When I asked for the franchisee's name and phone number, she wouldn't give that to me. This is poor member service. Consider joining somewhere else.

Planet Fitness has been a nightmare for me. Their customer service is abysmal, and to make matters worse, I've been charged double for my membership. Despite reaching out to the general manager multiple times, there has been no response. This lack of accountability and communication leaves me deeply dissatisfied with my experience at Planet Fitness. Proceed with caution if you value your money and expect any form of responsiveness

The gym is not bad, you kinda get what you pay for. The staff is friendly, is clean but is way too overpacked every time I go no matter the time. They do have plenty of cardio machines but they could use more free weights closer to the 30min circuit and also more leg machines because they do not have many and there are popular so always being used. I enjoy their stand up tanning bed.

It's pretty clean and a good place to work out

I'm a bit disappointed the black card membership I have been paying for is not worth it, the massage chairs and beds are not private also out dated, the massage beds left lines and are out dated plus bulbs are weak. Fix these issues or I quit my membership.Also lots of people sitting on the machines playing on their phones and talking to friends standing by not working out, so annoying. Make social hour space else where stay out of the way of people who want to work out please

I am so disappointed at who decided to take away the bench press machine. I am not a young buck that can just lift weights around and not need a spotter. I like the security of a machine instead of free weights so you can push yourself to the limit and not worry about how you're going to move the hooks and release it on the rack. So what are my options? Travel to a planet fitness that has the machine or change my membership to a different gym?

Planet Fitness is a clean , friendly place to workout. Several of the employees address me by my first name.All of the machines have been recently replaced. I especially like the timers on them so that I know how long I've rested between sets. I recently had my right hip replaced, so I've incorporated some new machines in my workout. The employees are always asking me how my progress is going. I appreciate that.

A few days ago my husband and I came in and one of the staffs not sure if they were in a bad mood or what was going on. But they slammed the scanner down rolled their eyes were very rude when it was my husbands turn to scan his phone they than proceeded to pick it up and slam it down again while rolling their eyes not even sure if the phone scanned right or not because after that they walked away to go gossip in a corner. I love this place have been coming here since December of last year never had any problems. But that entire day was just so uncomfortable basically stared down at the whole time we were there ended up leaving earlier than anticipated.

I've been to a few Planet Fitness locations across the Chicago area and found the Elgin location to be a good one. The equipment is clean and well cared for. The showers work well and the locker room is always clean.

I like this location better than st.charles. The machines are newer. Only complaint I have is when I want to use massage beds or tanning beds I can never find anyone. It says that you have call a number because they are cleaning the gym. But they are not. If they were then we could find them.

The employees are very helpful and extremely polite. All the machines and tanning beds are new. Space stays clean. I love coming to this location whenever I can.

Please put the leg press back in the row it's actually right smack-dab in the center of the aisle. Not safe at all! And please don't say it's because the Smith machine is in the way...That one also needs to be moved over so you CAN put the leg press back. It's moved so much it's almost in the other lane line-up pretty soon it will be with the cardio equipment

Everyone is super nice and this is the cleanest gym I have ever been too. Love going here everyday!

I really enjoy going to planet fitness. The workers are friendly and nice. I had a problem two days ago and everything was fixed and fine now. I love that they have amazing workers to help out. planet fitness is a great gym to workout at.

I transferred from West Dundee to Elgin, Il.  The process was smooth. The woman helping me went out of her way to make sure my needs were attended to while helping others.  Once I finished the forum she said "welcome to your new club".  I made the right decision to stay with Planet Fitness.  When You have 3 Health Clubs within 5 Minutes of each other it's important to find a club where you fit in.  Every day since.. they welcome me with a smile no matter how many people are needing help.  When you walk in there's someone setting the tone of the club.  Friendly, inspiring, and professional.  All good feelings to feel when you walk in the doors. Love the location, and hours - however; pretty disappointing that they no longer have a trainer at this location. I used to meet with Nick daily and having the group and trainer to keep me accountable made all the difference in my fitness. I have left and came back several times hoping they would bring back trainers sadly I'm still waiting... 😔

The community, the positive contagious attitude, the difficult workouts all make this place super special. This places cares about you and it shows. By my second day the coaches had already remembered my name and had tailored things to my physical fitness levels.

The music is WAY too loud. Have spoken to the manager. Said it's a corporate and/or franchise owner decision. Hard to hear own music. Got tires of it so try to get to st charles facility more. No more loud music!

I had an incredibly frustrating experience trying to cancel my membership with Planet Fitness. Despite following their cancellation policies and procedures, I found myself still being charged for months after I had requested to terminate my membership. The customer service representatives were unhelpful and dismissive, and seemed to have no interest in actually resolving my issue. Furthermore, the cancellation process itself was needlessly complicated and time-consuming. I had to jump through multiple hoops and deal with confusing instructions and poorly designed online forms. It felt like the company was intentionally trying to make it difficult for me to cancel my membership, which is never a good sign. Overall, I would not recommend Planet Fitness to anyone who values good customer service and transparency in billing. If you're considering signing up, be prepared for a potential headache if you ever try to cancel your membership. It would be easier if I wasn’t in the military however I have paid over 800 dollars since trying to cancel my membership and I feel as there is no way forward unless I go back personally to cancel. I have sent two letters and a third on its way. There should be a better way to cancel the membership.

Aside from some equipment being inaccessible to me due to my "petite" frame (for reference I am 152cm and 54kg) my experience at PF for the most part has been quite pleasant; the staff is very patient and understanding, the equipment and the gym overall are kept neat and clean, gym goers at PF for the most part tend to keep to themselves and lastly, although the gym can be a bit intimidating at first it's pretty easy to get adjusted relatively quick.
