I have to be honest.... this place has THE BEST COFFEE IN PITTSBURGH. I also like the atmosphere, the cleanliness and the staff. Even if parking is a very difficult, the service and the coffee are worth the pain.

Such a cool place to get offer! I got the Krampus drink, and it was delicious! The workers were really nice too.

Amazing service: Example… the espresso shot was not up to her standards (I know little about espresso, other than I consume it) … she explained it to me and made it again until she felt it was right… and she was right, it was awesome! The cinnamon blondie… HEATED UP… was on FIRE! As a staple of Allentown for years black forge has been a key to bringing so many things, resources and care to the community, and some how they find time to keep making BF better!

I really like black forge and have had a bunch of great coffees from here and I love the vibe, but today the barista and customer ahead of me spent over 15 minutes talking about the neighborhood grocery stores, parks, rent etc. instead of taking and making their order. After 20 minutes the barista finally asked for their order WHAT?! Insanely frustrating. I understand wanting to be friendly but I cannot wait forever for a coffee after 20 minutes I left no latte 😐

Who doesn't love a metal-themed coffee shop? Their aesthetic reminds me of TRVE and Burial Brewing. I wish they had another location down the hill, but it's always a treat to come up to Arlington Avenue to have a $6.66 latte or delicious cold brew coffee from Black Forge. (The photos I posted are from April 2022, before they remodeled)

Best coffee house I've been to in Pittsburgh. Staff is incredibly kind, the selections are great, and the vibes are 100. The fact that they have pinball machines is just such a wonderful and unexpected bonus.

This is my first time and I LOVE IT. They lady at the front was professional and sweet. The whole vibe was absolutely sick. I ordered a small iced , (bare with me) blackberry , vanilla, ... Okay so it was AMAZING. I'm so picky with coffee and I'm sad I can't remember the name of it even though I just left. But I believe it has unicorn in the name I highly suggest trying that out. Also they have phenomenal art made by employees out so I had to cop some too. Thank you guys sm!!! Awesome place.

I lived in Pittsburgh for six and a half years, but finally went here now that I moved to another country and was just visiting. I wish this had been located downtown because it was the coolest, best coffee shop I have been to here. The drinks are so creative with the ingredients and names. Love the exact $6.66 prices too! My bestie and I both tried seasonal drinks that were so good: Beezleberry and Phoenix Rising. The dopest part though is that I moved to Uruguay, a country known for their love for mate, and Black Forge sells these different canned drinks with Yerba Mate. I had to try one! Legit had never seen mate in Pittsburgh before. The barista was also super nice, the music was great, and seating and decor were done well. Make your way to Allentown to give it a try!

One of my favorite coffee houses in Pittsburgh. Good selection of both coffee, and treats. Be sure to try one of their cayenne coffee specialities -- they are uplifting. The Black Forge is located right next to the police station, making it easy to find. I have always managed to find parking near by.

The atmosphere was different for me but the people were cool. I got the UNICORN BLASTBEAT but changed it to the DEATH UNICORN….you know…….to make it seem tougher. The Wife got the MY DYING Chai with a shot of espresso and my daughter got the WINDHAND. I highly recommend.

The coffee was great, and they made substitutions in my coffee for me to make it even better than I could imagine. I got a tasty cookie, too. It was in a cooler case, so it was a little on the tough side, but overall, it was a great experience.

i love this little coffee shop. food options seem to fluctuate, so i’m not sure what they currently offer. i usually get a black coffee or americano, but here i love trying some of their specialty drinks. one with chili, ginger, dark chocolate is my favorite (iced or hot). i think it is called the Serpent Sun. the ambiance is unique and so well done.

A wonderful little shop with a lot of personality. The decor is top notch and so is the music. I really enjoyed my drink and will make this a must stop if I'm ever back in town.

I don't always go to a coffee shop, but when I do, its Black Forge; High quality and the price is right. I get their hot lattes during the winter but I think their best product is the cold brew. I find cold brews to usually be on the lighter side but the cold brew here is by far the darkest I've ever had which is a great thing in my opinion. I also think cold brews bring out flavors that you don't otherwise pick up; I get hints of chocolate and molasses, it's wonderful.

Great local coffeeshop in every aspect. Coffee, staff, theme, etc. are all top notch. They even allow dogs! Highly recommend.

Probably my favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh. Very metal vibes, the speciality drinks are divine. I come here way too often. If you're a cool cat, you should try it out

Found this place by lucky chance: their other location is hosting a band I want to see and I looked up the wrong address. I am so happy that I found them. The shop is small but has a friendly atmosphere while also hitting the niche Heavy Metal aesthetic, and they do it in a way that is welcoming to all. I had the Nephilim dark blend, black, and thoroughly enjoyed it. My wife got the Weedeater and she is excited to go back because she loved it. The service provided was incredibly friendly, and the baristas were wonderful. I had an oddball request with the Weedeater: don't add the ice. I explained that I had a long drive home and didn't want it to be watered down. Deducted 1 star ONLY because of the lack of parking. The location isn't friendly to drivers, though I imagine this place gets most of their business via foot traffic.

The new interior and the music is so dope, it's one of my favorite reading spots. Plenty of seating for even such a small location, and the coffee is 11/10. They roast their own coffee and you can buy some to take home! Their seasonal specialty drinks are the best.

I bleepin LOVE this establishment!! It makes me happy every time I just drive by. The staff is friendly helpful and lovely! And don't get me started on the atmosphere. An art lovers drenched dream (if you've got a taste for the dark side). My favorite in Pittsburgh. BlkFrgE till i Die.

Fantastic atmosphere, great coffee. Got the Dutch Treat and a Ritual Rites, both were absolutely delicious. Even picked up a bag of whole bean coffee for home.

Cool minimalist coffee House with art shows and a stage. Just had a snack there. too late for coffee for me! The art was really good! The music was metal and dark. It was Easter so it really wasn't very crowded. I think it could be pretty fun on a busier day!

Absolutely awesome place. Heaven metal vibe with 666 themed signature drinks that all look amazing. The house coffee and cold brew are good (a little weak for seasoned coffee drinkers though). Still, worth a trip! Marissa was our barista and she is an inspiring, joyful person who is full of life! She also is an actresses!

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Pittsburgh. It has a heavy metal music themed atmosphere, and themed drinks to match. My favorite drink is the Ritual Rites, which is espresso, toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and cream over ice for $6.66. Parking is conveniently less than a block away in one of the city lots or on-street across from the police station.
