I will just suggest you to come and visit this gurudwara. History behind Gurudwara Bangla Sahib THIS PLACE IS RELATED TO THE 8TH GURU, SHRI GURU HARI KRISHAN SAHIB JI, IN SAMWAT 1721 BIKRAMI (1664 A.D.), WHEN AURANGZEB CALLED GURU HARI KRISHAN SAHIB TO DELHI, GURU JI AGREED ON THE INSISTENCE OF MIRZA RAJA JAI SINGH OF AMBER (JAIPUR) AND SIKI SANGAT CONGREGATION. THIS WAS THE BUNGALOW OF RAJA JAI SINGH. TO TEST THE GURUSHIP OF CHILD GURU THE CHIEF QUEEN OF RAJA JAI SINGH DRESSED HERSELF AS A MAID SERVANT AND SAT AMONGST THEM, GURUJI, WHO WAS JUST 8 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME, IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED THE CHIEF QUEEN AND SAT IN HER LAP. AT THE TIME DELHI WAS IN THE MIDST OF A SEVERE ONSLAUGHT OF CHOLERA AND SMALL POX, WHICH WAS KILLING SCORES OF PEOPLE EVERYDAY. WHEN THE PEOPLE OF DELHI NARRATED THEIR WOES TO THE GURU, THE LATTER, WITH THE GRACE OF GOD TURNED THE WATER OF POND INTO HOLY NECTAR BY DIPPING HIS FEET INTO IT AND THEREBY CURING THE PATIENTS. HENCE MILLIONS WERE CURED OF THE DEADLY EPIDEMIC. EVEN TODAY THE SIKH SANGAT COMPRSING OF ALL SECTS, RELIGIONS AND CASTES, COME FROM FAR AND NEAR, TAKE A DIP AT THE SAROVAR AND AFTER PARTAKING OF AMRIT ARE CURED OF ALL PHYSICAL NO MENTAL AILMENTS.

A Magnificent Sikh House of Worship Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a prominent house of worship for the Sikh community and tourist spot in Delhi. This 17th-century shrine is dedicated to the memory of Guru Har Krishan, who was the eighth Sikh Guru. Located near Connaught Place, the busiest neighborhood in the national capital, the Gurudwara draws attention due to its magnificent structure, architectural beauty, and the large water body aka ‘Sarovar’ located within the complex.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a Sikh gurdwara located in the heart of New Delhi, India. It is one of the most important Sikh pilgrimage sites in the world and is visited by millions of people every year. The gurdwara is named after the fourth Sikh Guru, Guru Ram Das, who lived in a house (bangla) on the site in the 17th century. The gurdwara is a beautiful and imposing building made of white marble. It is topped by a golden dome and has a large prayer hall inside. The gurdwara is also home to a sacred pool of water called the Sarovar. Sikhs believe that the water in the Sarovar has healing powers. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a place of peace and tranquility. It is a place where people of all faiths can come to worship and reflect on their lives. The gurdwara is also a place where people can come to receive free food and medical care. I visited Gurudwara Bangla Sahib in 2022 and was deeply impressed by the beauty and spirituality of the place. I felt a sense of peace and calm as I walked around the gurdwara and the Sarovar. I also had the opportunity to participate in the langar, the free community kitchen, where I was served a delicious meal of vegetarian food. I would highly recommend visiting Gurudwara Bangla Sahib to anyone who is interested in learning more about Sikhism or who is simply looking for a place of peace and tranquility. Here are some pros and cons of visiting Gurudwara Bangla Sahib: Pros: The gurdwara is very beautiful and well-maintained. The atmosphere at the gurdwara is peaceful and serene. The langar is a great way to experience Sikh hospitality. The gurdwara is a major tourist attraction, so there are plenty of things to see and do in the area. Cons: The gurdwara can be very crowded, especially during festivals. The gurdwara is located in a busy area of Delhi, so it can be difficult to get to. The gurdwara is not wheelchair accessible. Overall, I had a very positive experience visiting Gurudwara Bangla Sahib. It is a beautiful and sacred place that I would recommend to anyone who is interested in Sikh culture and religion.

Location: Bangla Sahib Gurudwara is situated in the heart of New Delhi, near the Connaught Place area. Its official address is Ashoka Road, Hanuman Road Area, Connaught Place, New Delhi, Delhi 110001, India. History: The gurudwara was originally a bungalow (Bangla) belonging to Raja Jai Singh, an Indian ruler during the Mughal era. It was later owned by Raja Bhagel Singh, who generously donated the property to the Sikh community for the construction of a gurudwara. The foundation of the gurudwara was laid on December 19, 1783. Sarovar (Holy Pool): Bangla Sahib Gurudwara has a sacred pool called Sarovar, which is known as "Amrit Sarovar." Devotees believe that the water in the Sarovar has healing properties, and taking a dip in it is considered spiritually purifying. Golden Dome and Flagpole: The gurudwara features a beautiful golden dome that is a prominent landmark in the area. It also has a tall flagpole, known as the "Nishan Sahib," where the Sikh religious flag, the "Nishan Sahib flag," is hoisted. Community Kitchen (Langar): One of the significant aspects of Sikhism is the concept of Langar, which is a free community kitchen. Bangla Sahib Gurudwara serves Langar to thousands of people every day, regardless of their religion, caste, or social status. It is a symbol of equality and service in Sikhism. Worship and Services: The gurudwara conducts regular prayer services and Kirtan (devotional singing) sessions. Devotees can participate in these religious activities and seek blessings. Tourist Attraction: Apart from being a place of worship, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara is a popular tourist attraction in Delhi. Its serene ambiance, beautiful architecture, and spiritual atmosphere make it a must-visit place for tourists and locals alike.
