Got a haircut. Said I wanted to leave the top and wanted a mid fade. Made the fade to high up blending and cutting into my top hair. Made my lineup slanted. Barber couldn’t fix my hair since he had appointments. Had to buzz my hair off right before an event because of how bad the haircut was. Owner should go back to barber school or just not run a business. Can’t follow simple directions and only cuts nappy hair. AVOID THIS BARBERSHOP! Worst shop in Utah

I recommend this Barber Shop to everyone. They were able to fit me in short notice and on a holiday. PJ cut my hair and was absolutely awesome. Great company, and great haircut. Ask for PJ.

Passing through SLC, chose The Hive based on the reviews I read. I could tell the owner had pride for his work and I couldn't be happier with my choice! If I lived in Salt Lake, The Hive would be the ONLY barbershop I went to. Lynn is seriously the man! Very clean! Not my usual shop but was staying with family and came through based on good reviews. They are a great shop man my fade and my beard trim both looked great. I had arrived looking bummy and left feeling great. Huge shout out to PJ for the cut and conversation. It's cool to have a good barber to cut, it's wild when the barbers are just amazing people.

I’ve been coming to this shop since it opened. You want to support local, this is the place to be. Just a bunch of guys, passionate about their craft. Friendly, caring and willing to provide their upmost and best service. This is the kind of barbershop where you can’t go wrong with any of the barbers. My man Lon has been cutting my hair since 2019 and does a phenomenal job, every single time. Alofas to the boys at the shop!!

Firstly, military and police, y'all need to go here, these guys are legit barbers that'll give you the cut you need. Secondly, huge thank you to Louie! After thinking my arthritic hands could cut my 13 yr old son's hair with no problem, it turns out...I was wrong. Sooooo wrong. After realizing I'd just nominated myself for mom fail of the year, I called the Hive literally crying (yes..crying), and Louie picked up. Although he was completely booked, he took mercy on me and fit my son in on a Saturday. Louie was the most professional, skilled, kind dude ever. Chill atmosphere too. My son was super grateful and loved his cut.

I went in thinking they would give me a fresh cut for my wedding but Shawn wasn’t fully attentive. I told him to do a 2 to 1 fade on the sides and back and then chop 1 inch off the top. But he gave me a 1 fade and cut my hair to 1 inch. When he was lining me up, he was on his phone. The worst of all, my chair wasn’t faced towards the mirror at all during the cut. They’re chill guys, but too chill if you actually want a good cut, especially for a wedding.

Just wanna spare anyone going in with a shaggy/longer hairstyle. He told me he has done lots of longer cuts and then gave my 12 year old son a straight up bob. Looked like i used a bowl at home and kitchen scissors and then charged $35 for the worst haircut 😂 I’m sure they are great at shorter cuts but go somewhere else if you or your kids have a little bit longer hair

Took my 3 youngest here, and as a single mom who “tried” to trim their hair one time that didn’t turn out great. Shaun didn’t make me feel bad for my bad hair cut I gave them lol. Shaun was very kind to my boys and was very patient with my special needs son who had a mini melt down during his hair cut. I would highly recommend this place!!! Visited The Hive Barbershop today for the first time with my son. Upon walking in I noticed how nice and clean it was, and how welcoming they were. My son got his haircut done by Louis Hamilton. He was so kind and did such a great job on my sons hair. If you’re looking for a legit barbershop who knows what they’re doing, this is the place for you! 10/10 recommend.
