As its name represents we have the same feeling that we are in 1947 , all the photos In the wall , cutleries even the dining table (covered with glass and have a pack of spices and old newspaper cutouts) . Lots of parking spaces , preparation time is less comparatively, I have ordered the chatti chorru , which is a bit expensive there, most places have different non-veg options but here beef ,fish and chicken all are separate. Taste wise what I felt is just average, not that much good or tasty. The atmosphere is quite good and the service is also superb.

1947 An Indian Restaurant, Kakkanad. As the name suggests, it's a 1947 themed Restaurant where the interiors are designed in such a way. Food quality is quite good. We had ordered Soup for starters, Chicken Kebab Mix Platter , then for main course Butter Nan, mixed fried Rice with Butter chicken and Chilly Chicken. Service is good too. Slightly crowded when we had reached there. Reservations are also there. Overall it's a good restaurant to go with family and friends

A complete 1947 ambience with several pictures and museum items of old times to see. The tables have a glass finish to see through the old items kept underneath. Food quality and taste is very good. Non veg definitely try the prawn dry, fish kudampully, chicken platter. Go for a dinner which is the best dine in. I had a great experience at the restaurant! The ambiance was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. The best part was the plenty of parking available. However, I found the food quality to be just okay. Overall, I would still recommend it for a pleasant dining experience. In a restaurant, some common decorative items include artwork, plants or flowers, stylish lighting fixtures, unique furniture, decorative mirrors and all but here it’s really different.

For me i have taken dine in as well as take away from this restaurant, the atmosphere will make us feel patriotic, its feel like less light ambiance, the staff were very helpful. A good place to have a nice dinner with friends and family. This restaurant has a variety of Veg options along with a good list of Non Vegetarian dishes. Service is fast for the crowd seen on weekends. Ambience is vintage however loud on the weekends. One can end their meal with Manga Tenga Sherbet!

Spacious restaurant with varieties of food. Went there around 7pm and there was no crowd at all. However, a huge gang came in for dinner (team dinner of some IT company) and they were too noisy. Most of the families found it very uncomfortable. I won't blame hotel for this. However, I'd suggest hotel management to look into this so that this can be avoided in future. It's better to make reservations before gng there so that you'll get more privacy if you are with family. Overall, I'm happy with the ambience and the quality of food.

Food quality they maintained is really good. But the waiting period is too long to get the ordered dish. They have wide varieties of food. Good vehicle parking area. Interior they designed is really impressive. Also came to know interesting fact that, if you sing a song in Mike they provide, you will get 5% discount from the total bill.

Really good interior decorations and services. Reservation available. They have a variety of dishes and tastes really good. I was satisfied with the starters and dishes. But had also ordered desserts, and we were totally disappointed in it. The ice cream resembles the tonic's taste, The special shake was just a normal chocolate shake. The fruit salad was fruits served with ice cream, which lacked custard powder. Personally, I won't prefer ordering the dessert from here.

Visited in Jun2022. Very nice ambience and good place for family and friends to gather for dinner. A bar is available in the next door outside and it's completely separate from the dine area which is a big plus. Food taste and quality is amazing. The hotel team stands by its name 1947 images of several freedom fighters with brief about them. Interesting to walk around and read facts. Non veg definitely try out Prawn dry, kudampully fish curry, curry meen dry.

1947 has got an aesthetic ambience and a classic style and the best service. Food was really nice .I would prefer lunch over dinner here. Only suggestion is to increase the AC temperature, so that the food served will not get cold so fast.

The ambience provided by the Indian history theme was awesome. It really says why there is heavy rush during the meal times, so much so that people have to wait for a table to get freed. Luckily, we had reserved our tables. For me, the ambience of hotel was more attractive than the food itself, but food was decent too. Awesome ambiance. First thing that will catch your eye is the beautiful theme and its implementation to perfection. Kudos to the team for that. Warm welcome and courteous staff. Decent options and tasty food. Liked their soup (1947 special) and chicken pepper fry. It is bit costly. It will be a nice place to dine once in a while, for team celebrations and lunch with clients.

Everything is perfect with this restaurant as of now (food quality, service and especially ambiance). Entire restaurant is themed with Indian Independence and associated artifacts. Food taste is varied from very good to excellent. Juices were little disappointing. Another advantage is ample parking space.

The flavours were authentic, and the presentation was top-notch. One small point to note is that the centralised AC system doesn't distribute evenly. At some seats, it tended to be a bit warm!

The kerala menu portion is excellent and keeps well in line with the authentic taste of the state. A must recommend for everyone looking to read up on some past and enjoy some good food.

Good food and ample parking space. After Covid relaxation, the place was full of people. But, with slight delay, the restaurant provided the food on time. Due to rush hours, they could not serve the water melon juice ordered at the last. We told them to cancel it. But overall it is a good place to dine.

Ample car parking, good ambience - it's a themed restaurant. Food is also very good. Initially the restaurant was almost empty when we went there, and all of them were with us to assist. They nicely arranged the place for our baby girl's birthday celebration, set the cake and took photos. But after that things changed. No proper coordination. We asked for biriyani and we were told biriyani was over. Later some people came on the table near ours and we saw biriyani being served to them. When we asked, they said, they were told that biriyani was over from the kitchen when actually it was there. There was rush in the restaurant on that day and they were not prepared to handle it. They need to work on service, service is not upto the mark.

It is such a nice restaurant with very good ambience. You will feel good at the restaurant. Staff is quiet and hospitable. But the food quality is not up to the mark. The chicken soup was horrible. It was literally a pot of water with precooked pieces of chicken. And I am not sure why they are giving table spoons for soup instead of providing soup spoons. These people must go to chiyang restaurant once and taste the soup to understand what should a soup taste and look like.The beef items were also not up to the mark.

To have every department function professionally in any Multi-cuisine restaurant is a tough ask. These guys do it with ease. Courteous staff and management. The detailing that goes into every dish, decor and the ambiance is something that is worth applauding. For some who knows only to moan and complaint even Taj or Kempinski wont be good enough. Start to appreciate good food and service, it is then one can say they are a matured lot. Senseless if otherwise. I am looking forward to their Christmas lunch.

Visited for lunch and the place was packed, I must say! The food was tasty enough and most of us ordered Chattichoru which was nice but the quantity of rice seemed way too less than most of the other places. And the service was pathetic, the basic thing of serving the water was done at the end of our meal even though we asked for hot water while we were ordering the food! Service guys seemed to run away from the customers without checking upon them and felt like they were trying their best not to maintain an eye contact ! Abundant parking space was available which was an advantage for sure

Good quality and quantity. Normal biriyani 3/5 4. King fish fry: Good portion size. But I was disappointed about the taste. I can't taste the fish, but Plain uncooked masala flour is the only thing we can experience. Rating 2/5 5. Lime soda. Yah. It's a lime soda. 😂 As we know, high expectations always disappointed...

I recently visited 1947 Restaurant in Kakkanad, and I must say, the food quality is on the average side. However, the ambience is top-notch. If you're in Kakkanad, a one-time visit is a must. The place exudes a freedom struggle vibe with everything written in a retro-historic fashion. The ancient details beautifully displayed on the tables and throughout the restaurant, along with prehistoric weapons, create an awesome atmosphere. Despite the food being just average, the overall experience is quite unique, making it worth a visit.
