A pavilion located in Hyangwonji, a pond north of Gyeongbokgung Palace. It has two floors, a beautiful tiled roof, and the dancheong and grille are well harmonized, enhancing the dignity of the palace. Hyangwon means that the scent spreads far away.

Quite possibly the prettiest place to take photos in all of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Came in January so the lake around the pavilion was frozen which made it even more beautiful and spectacular. Unfortunately the gate was closed to the pavilion, but still very worthwhile to see. Lots of benches are around which is convenient, and on a clear day you can see the city skyline in the background which makes it even more picturesque.

This small pavilion in the middle of a pond is one of the most picturesque places in the very picturesque Gyeongbukgung Palace. The pavilion itself was closed off to the public (as of September 2022) but the views from across the pond are beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite spots at the palace

Probably the best place in the palace. Came in autumn and it was just beautiful with the color contrast of that part of the year.

Unfortunately, during fall, the place is quite barren.

The bridge by the pavilion is closed for the public, but it's still worth just sitting by the pond, espcially when the weather is nice. I can imagine reading a book here, it's calm even with the tourists around and there's lot of benches to use.

This is what Hyangwonjeong looks like on a snowy day. The elegant and calm appearance is trapped in the silence of the old palace. It's as beautiful as white snow.

This was such a beautiful place to photograph but was fenced off for renovation when i visited it. Still managed to take some nice snaps.

Nice pavilion located at the very back of the Gyeongbokgung palace. The palace itself is magnificent!
