I had a great experience visiting this clinic. Devon was super accommodating and communicative - I was able to coordinate everything in advance via email (though messaging apps are available, too). She was helpful, nice, and speaks perfect English. On the day of the appointment, she walked me through the full process and translated. It was a very good experience and I would recommend to any foreigner. It was white - glove. They also did not push any unnecessary treatments - they were very conservative and gave explanations and suggestions for the best care. I would highly recommend!

Every step of the journey towards my SMILE laser eye surgery was beyond expectation. Devon was really great and kind. She was super helpful with detailed explanations of my eye conditions, surgery process, and just everything! When I first contacted on Kakao, they answered all of my questions very promptly and with full details. I went in for the same-day surgery and it was super worth it. You go through a series of thorough eye examinations, and they explain in detail of which procedure is recommended. The surgery itself was super quick taking only 15 minutes, while the rest was waiting time and preparation. Although I spend from 9:30 AM - 5 PM, they offered me a cubicle lounge to take a nap and rest, and there are very good restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. Although there was a lot of people, I truly felt like a VIP, as Devon took great care of me and even helping me get the medicine. I went for the checkup early in the morning, and I was done in 10 minutes! I would highly recommend this place for foreigners, since their service is really great!!

I am so grateful to Dr. Lee and the staff at BGSS for changing my life! I had severe astigmatism and didn’t qualify for Lasik. I thought laser was the only option for corrective surgery, until I learned more about ICL (implantable contact lens) surgery through this clinic. I got the SMILE PRO surgery with corneal cross linking a few days ago, and and the results are great! The surgery was painless, and after over a decade of wearing glasses, I can now see clearly! On my arrival, They need to check up my eyes before the decide which type of laser I’m suitable with. My eyes quite dry so I need use eyes serum for two weeks. After two weeks I’m back to checkup again and my eyes condition can only do 2 Days Lasek. Booked an appointment from Australia and the communication with the international patient centre was amazing throughout the process. I was lucky to have Devon assigned to me, she guided and translated everything and even assisted with medication purchasing and usage instructions. Her English was surprisingly impressive, and I felt like I was going into a practice back at home! The team at BGSS in Seoul are wonderful and make you feel welcomed. Some of my friends recommended BGSS to me. So, I decided to check their Website out and make a reservation via Kakao. The operator promptly replied, and she responded to my concerns in detail. After getting all the examinations (for around 2 hours), I chose to have the 2 day LASEK surgery option. I was so lucky because I was accompanied by one professional staff person that goes by Devon. She patiently answered all my questions, assisted me with a check-up, and helped to relive my stress and anxiety before and during the surgery. She was so helpful and made me feel more comfortable. She asked me about my the condition of my eyes after the surgery to make sure that I took care of my eyes the correct way. My LASEK surgery was conducted by Dr.Cheong, and the surgery went well and he was very professional. Dr.Cheong was so patient in responding to all my questions, carefully checked the condition of my eyes before and after the surgery, and made me feel more comfortable. BGSS also provides individual medical records, post-surgery treatments, and helpful information on the app, which can be easily installed and accessed via phone. Moreover, I can make reservations and appointments via the app without any difficulty. However, it would be great if one’s medical records would be uploaded on the app to follow up on the care of eyes post surgery. After 3-weeks surgery, I felt my vision was getting better every day, and some side effects are slowly disappearing. I got the one day ICL procedure here. I had a smooth process and great outcome. The facility is pristine and clean with high tech exam machines. They test your vision extensively. The staff are knowledgeable and kind and will go through the whole process with you. Highly recommend if you’re thinking of getting your vision fixed!

I got same-day ReLEX SMILE surgery on April 23rd, 2022. I also opted to get an additional treatment to strengthen my corneas as my astigmatism was almost at the upper limit of treatable for SMILE procedures. This secondary procedure served to both prevent, or at least limit, recurrence of astigmatism later in life and would also enable me to get an additional procedure when older should such prove to be necessary. I would like to say that my experience overall was incredibly positive. I went in early Saturday morning for a very thorough examination, which also had a couple of redundancy tests to ensure the overall accuracy of certain more patient-dependent results. I then had a comprehensive interview detailing each surgery and their respective procedures and recovery times. All of which was performed with the help of an on-site interpreter, who was very warm and answered all of my questions with care. This first stage of the process took about 90 minutes. I then went to have lunch while waiting for my DNA results. This test was done to ensure that I did not have any genetic abnormalities that would make proceeding with laser eye surgery a risk. My secondary procedure took place less than 2 hours after my morning consultation which was incredibly convenient. The surgery itself only took about 15 minutes (the entire event was about an hour with pre- and post-care) and while it was somewhat nerve-wracking (these are my eyes after all), my surgeon was incredibly competent, confident and diligent, so I was as comfortable as it was possible for someone like me to be. (I'm not kidding; I can't watch anything involving eyes... those episodes of House where they jam the needle in an eye for tests..... god no). All-in-all I was in the clinic and 10am and had finished my operation by about 3pm. My post-op results have been excellent. For a few hours post-surgery, my left eye was watery and a little uncomfortable (like I had gotten an eyelash in it), but this stopped after I got home and slept for a few hours. My vision is significantly better than I expected so soon after the surgery. It's almost crystal clear - there is a mild haze, but I work in editing and have been sitting in front of a computer for the better part of the last 8 hours, so that is by far the biggest contributing factor. When I woke up this morning (2 days after surgery) it was similar to what your vision is like after you get a new contact or glasses prescription. I have also, thankfully, not had any dry eye. This was my other major concern as it is something of a mild issue I have generally - another hazard of my particular job. But my eyes have been great - better than usual to be honest. But I also have to put in medicated eye drops every few hours, so this could be part of the why for that^^: All in all, I would happily recommend BGSS to anyone looking to get laser eye surgery as I don't think there is anything that they could have done to improve the experience for me. When my brother and his wife visit me later this year, I will definitely try to talk them into getting it done - both because the price can't be beat compared to America and because the overall experience was truly outstanding.

I did it! I got the Smile procedure with cross linking done and it has been well worth it. I have been debating whether or not to get lasik, especially since my cousin keeps speaking so highly of it. 10 years after his procedure, I decided to take his recommendation and get it done while I’m in Korea for vacation. The process was super easy. Scheduling for a consultation was done over WhatsApp with Devon. She was extremely helpful and so kind. She’s one of the reasons I was won over. She was very knowledgeable with all of my concerns and made me feel very comforted. Once I got to Korea, she was even more helpful and stayed by my side every step of the way. I didn’t think I would be nervous but she was very empathetic and made me feel safe and kept me informed with each step in the process. It’s been 10 days and I have 20/16 vision! The entire experience at this clinic was very smooth. From the moment I arrived, I was accompanied by a translator (who’s super funny btw!) that explained everything, helped me decide on a surgery, and even calmed me down before, during, and after the surgery. The staff in general are very helpful and professional, and my entire stay there was quick and not at all stressful. Despite language limitations, I felt I understood what was happening at every point. My process went this way: arrival, going through all of the vision tests (there are quite a few but they’re not very difficult or invasive), deciding & booking my surgery, getting all my aftercare medicine, receiving a detailed explanation about how to use my new medicine and what I am allowed or not allowed to do post-surgery, and then my actual surgery (took no more than an hour to complete due to it being somewhat of a slower day). The surgery part itself was at most 5 minutes long, though. The other 55 minutes were mostly waiting, prepping, and recovering. Since I ended earlier than expected and my friend didn’t arrive yet, I was taken to a lounge where I could rest and drink complimentary coffee as I waited. All in all, the entire process took about 6 hours including all waiting times and an hour break in the middle of my day. Honestly, I am super happy I chose to get my Smile LASIK surgery at this clinic! Highly, highly recommend coming here! :] I’m also posting this review 6 months after my surgery and am happy to report my vision is still perfect! Even though I got a little lazy with the eye drops, I was able to come in for checkups and continuously be assisted by the clinic. Cannot recommend this place enough, honestly!

I went in to get the SMILE lasik surgery and the results are extraordinary. I am still in process of recovering since I got the surgery 36 hours ago, my vision is very clear and see a lot of things around me. The process from the beginning where you book an appointment to after surgery is very simple and precise. You do not have to worry about understanding Korean because a very kind translator will help you with all the understanding what the doctors say. I was very comfortable before visiting after hearing how my girlfriend's surgery went at this place. She got the surgery few months ago and her vision is better than 20/20. They’re the best in Korea for a reason! My eyes healed so much faster than my little brother, who did laser eye surgery in America, and they take great care of me every step of the way. After wearing glasses and contacts for most of my life; I can now say that I no longer need them! It's the day after my surgery now and I am able to see everything so clearly, but it's still improving as I write this. I was initially worried about having laser eye surgery as I did not know what to expect, but the staff at BalGeunSeSang Eye Clinic puts all your worries to ease throughout the consultation, surgery and aftercare process. Any questions you may have they are more than happy to answer and they make sure you are very comfortable. There are also a great group of translation staff available if you're a foreigner as they are with you to translate the medical staff's instructions. Everyone at the clinic provides the "white glove service" to all their patients and I feel lucky that my Doctor was Dr. Lee Young Woo. I was recommended to do Smile Lasik as I tend to be active. On the day of surgery, my nerves did overtake me; however, they were very patient with me and I had a successful surgery. My wife also had her laser eye surgery here many years ago! I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone considering laser eye correction surgery as I am still amazed with the results and also very thankful to everyone at the clinic.

Communication beforehand was efficient and detailed, and although the clinic was busy on a Saturday morning, the testing process was very thorough and organized. I opted for same-day surgery that afternoon, and I was home within 5 hours of my arrival at the clinic that morning. The next day, I could already see perfectly! If you have dry eye, make an appointment! I went for a consultation and treatment on 8/9/22 to the Seoul office. I'm so grateful to Hatim, who was an amazing translator - I thought he was from London or the US, because he spoke perfect English - he helped guide me through the process and also made sure I felt comfortable. The consult + treatment took less than 2 hours. Since I was in Seoul for a limited time and I have severe dry eye that has been steadily getting worse since April (3-4 months), I chose to get the best treatment options: 1. IPL eye treatment 2. Aqua care 3. PRP eye drops It helped clear my blocked eye glands so that I could heal and improve. I was also sent home with tips for at-home care and maintenance, and I bought the eye scrub and the self-heating eye pads. I am planning to make an appointment next year for vision correction!

My corrective laser eye surgery (SMILE) at BGSS Eye Clinic (Seoul location) was a great and comfortable experience. The entire process from getting my eyes tested for eligibility to getting the surgery to the follow ups were very straightforward and simple. The initial communication for scheduling was all in English and done through Kakao. I wasn’t sure who I was talking to until I arrived for my scheduled consultation and met Devon. She not only spoke to me on Kakao answering questions, but also the one who stood next me while getting my eyes checked to even getting my eye surgery done. She made sure that I was taken care of and is maybe the reason why I’m satisfied with my experience at BGSS. I’m sure most eye clinics in Korea may have similar equipment as BGSS but Devon definitely made the customer care experience at BGSS, and a reason for me to recommend BGSS to friends and family if they ever wanted to get their eyes corrected in Korea.

Amazing experience at Seoul BGSS Gangnam where I felt very well taken care of and assented by Devon, Yong and her team, more specially hearing that Yong is from NZ which made me immediately feel safe! The procedure I did was Zeiss Smile Pro with the Cross linking done by Dr Lee Je Myung! All the tests, and surgery itself was done professionally and I did not feel any pain. Yong assisted in translating what Dr Lee was asking me to do and had a very calming voice which made the surgery easier. Dr Lee was also fast and effective in how he conducted the surgery, finishing in what felt like 10 mins! I had a wonderful experience with BGSS during my trip to Korea! I got the Toric Lens Inserts. It was not as painful as I thought it would be, just mild pressure on my eyes. I got SMILE LASIK yesterday with same day examination and surgery. And TODAY, my vision is above 20/20!!!!! I am still not used to being able to see so clearly without my glasses 😅😅 the surgery took about 5 minutes or so in total, and they help you through everything. Honestly does not hurt, just was a bit freaked out by the clamps for the eyelids. I think I should have gotten the smile lasik pro, as it is faster and less time for me to anx out. the staff were so friendly, the environment clean, and the doctors are very experienced. And the dozen or so examinations for the eye were honestly so impressive, never gotten THAT many eye exams and results in so much detail. The translator, Yong Kim, was REALLY helpful and was explaining EVERYTHING along the examination, doctor’s consultation, AND surgery, AND recovery. His instructions in English really helped me to remain somewhat calm during the surgery. And after the surgery they arranged a taxi and gave me detailed instructions in English about all the medications. It is truly a one stop service for any eye treatment and I am so glad I got my surgery here.
